    Forgot to mention that the actual good defensive items for Kled are things like Maw/GA/Frozen Heart, things that focus more on resists over HP and/or give you some type of shield or way of survivability through their passives. Also sorry for a little bit of audio issues in this video, but I think for the most part it's okay

      But why is the winrate of the classic HP items is still the same or higher than the non HP items? Is it bc kled is simply strong? When you compare items on lolalytics it seems to be not too bad building the hp items. Only item that seems to be better than everything else is profane hydra.
      Or is it because lethality builds are harder to perform so the winrate balances it out making seem hp items stronger.

      @@HyeonsikLi It’s both because lethality builds are a bit harder to play but much more because the health builds are way more common, most people just default the classic bruiser items on most champs similar to kled regardless of how good they are on him

      @@Soulmario but wouldnt that lead to a lower winrate when the majority autopilots these items. Especially people who dont OTP or main Kled just pick up these items and still manage to perform quite well.

      @@HyeonsikLi His winrate constantly fluctuates from patch to patch, even when it’s not a big one like 14.1, just because he’s always a pretty low pick ban rate champ for the most part. People always ask me why one patch he’s at 48% then he’s at 52%, etc on repeat, the winrates barely tell the story of how the champ is especially when you’re trying to narrow it down to builds when for at least 90% of the player base their items make very little to no impact on the game they’re in

      Problem with frozen heart is a lot of the gold goes to waste on mana which you aren't using so it feels really bad to build

    I've personally felt like something was iffy about the way Kled interacts with health but I couldn't put it to proper words - I think this is an oversight due to the age of the champion and something that direly needs fixing, because back when Kled was released everyone and their mother didn't have access to % max HP damage that is so abundant nowadays - making it so Kled would take appropriately scaled % max hp damage when mounted vs dismounted would be a huge boon for the cavalier

    Interesting take.
    So what you're saying is, we should go full tank Kled with Spirit Visage, Jak'Sho, Randuins, Unending Despair, Force of Nature, and Kaernic Rookern.
    Our AD ratios are so high we don't need to build AD.

    (nah, but that's a cool take. I always focused on max hp ratios on titanic and tried to max it, but didn't consider the max hp damage rampant in the game right now. Thanks for the vid)

      I would unironically rather see that build on a kled than cleaver steraks sunder heartsteel which is what I see some people run sometimes, at least those items actually give resist so you won’t get instantly shredded by %hp dmg lmao, also thank you for the support :]

      @@Soulmario build idea, hubris, heartsteel, bloodmail, hullbreaker, deaths dance and an adaptive item depending on enemy comp you can go grasp of undying or harder to pull off dark harvest. also gathering storm cause why not

    혹시모를 한국인을 위한 정리
    옛날에 클레드 추가체력에 대한 패치가 있었음 템을 사게되면 클레드에게 체력이 붙는것이 아니라 스칼에게 추가체력이 붙음 이것은 게임에 안좋은 영향을 미침( 스칼에서 내렸을시 더 빨리 죽게됨)
    주인장이 극딜빌드만 가는이유(추가체력 안붙은 템) : 체력퍼뎀 아이템이나 스킬 등 여러 요인때문에 불경-요우무-오만 등을 가심
    이 이유는 훈련장에서 나중에 해보면 알겠지만 추가체력 전사템 (거드라, 갈라진하늘, 불클 등등) 을 가게되면 스칼에서 내렸을시 남은 체력바 퍼센트가 30퍼 정도대로 남게됨 때문에 잃은체력 비례 데미지가 더욱 많이 들어오게 되서 더욱 빠르게 죽는다. 하지만 극딜빌드(추가체력없는 불경 요우무 오만 등 추가체력없는 순수 딜템)를 가고 스칼에 내리면 40퍼 중후반 체력이 남게됨 때문에 추가체력이있는 템을 안가신다.
    훈련장에서 11렙 기준 스칼 내릴시 거드라 불클 -> 36퍼 불경 오만 - 49퍼 클레드는 레벨업을 할시 스칼이 아닌 클레드의 체력이 성장하게됨 위 영상에도 소개되는것처럼 어느순간 클레드 체력이 스칼보다 많아지는 순간이 있음 ->잃은체력 비례 데미지를 덜 받게됨

    If they want to fix this interaction, they would probably need to have some of Kleds bonus HP be applied on Kled himself instead of skarll, or make all %based effects work only on Kleds HP when dismounted. However, both of these are strict buffs to kled and they will need to reduce his power in other places.
    And this would also mean that titanic interaction will also only use Kleds HP when dismounted which would feel very bad.
    Option 1 would be much better.

      The could make it so that health items would give skaarl 60-70% of the health and kled the rest aka 40-30%.

      @@Shyama7015 Giving the small kled more health translates into easier comebacks and Riot seems to not want that along with not fixing the comeback animation, 10-90 is a good number to test

      @@RyuHardGore it's not bad. I would enjoy even that, since ei don't like building health items on kled anymore. This is why I miss gargoyle. Gargoyle was really good because it gave me 60 armor and me with the shield without actually giving health. With skaarl's health counting as bonus, you could 1 item gargoyle and always have the remount which was really nice.

    I know all this and yet still think bruiser is better than lethality in most cases due mostly to steraks shield being op and sunderer healing being extremely clutch a lot of the time, also you can just be a lot more impactfull before dismounting imo when you build lethality often you get dismounted before you coild do anything, obviously depends on comp and what your goal is that game (providing fromtline and engage, sidelaning, trying to one shot fed enemy adc etc etc)

      yeah, I didn't want to make it seem completely 1 sided. There are definitely good bruiser items out right now that can work in the right situations, I just wanted to explain why I don't feel like it's good to auto buy every game. Lethality build and bruiser build also play in different ways, so it can come down to player preference (basically what you said)

    Okay this makes so much sense. If you build bonus HP, you're dismounted hp is still gonna be whatever it is if you build lethality, but now you're just getting one shot by any abilities that do max hp damage so you're basically hard countering your remount mechanic xd

      Exactly, you’re just taking all of the downsides of the max hp and missing hp damage but not getting any benefits (outside of like titanic hp dmg scaling)

    I would like and it would be interesting to test things with a Kled which gets 10% of additional health while Skaarl gets 90% added to the game counting as maximum health when only Skaarl's health is mounted and when dismounting only Kled's health.
    You already know these types of things for which the PBE would be useful

    in terms of a hybrid build without HP and purely AD + resists, is something like hubris profane FH Maw GA something that’s even viable? (if you start to fall behind)

      it's a pretty decent build, but you almost always need some type of %pen to deal relevant damage, maybe if you were against a full squishy team it could work

      It’s simply just when you have colorblind mode turned on in game settings, makes it a little easier for me to visually differentiate the two hp bars

    This is a easy fix all they have to do is give the mount a new scaling mecanic same as draven with axes, senna and thresh with souls, they could add stacks to the mount so it grows with time maybe giving you +1 stack for every remount or giving +1 for every time you desmount near a different bush.
    That way kled can stack hp and not worrie about mount hp

      If you’re not going to be picking up several kills, yeah eclipse is super strong as well and a more reliable item. I do think hubris is insanely strong if you’re confident you will be getting fed but in more general games eclipse is very consistent

    Haven't watched the video yet, but I always ranted about this issue to some of my friends who want to play Kled but always get into this trap, so here are some common "dumb questions" I get from them, and I already see some in the comment section:
    "Kled has higher WR with higher HP items"
    First of all, WR on a champion with a pretty low pick rate as Kled is extremely fragile and unreliable as evident to prove a point; other things in the meta such as matchups (I.E. Kled WR can sink if Fiora is dominant) can greatly influence his win rate regardless of what you build on him. It can also literally depend on what ranks and environment/server you are playing in; last time I checked Kled has a massively higher WR with lethality item for all ranks and all servers except from low diamond to diamond 2, where his HP heavy build is better. Furthermore, high HP items give Kled some leeway for playing poorly, but to optimize the snowball potential on Kled, you really want more damage.
    "Kled wants survivability because he is a bruiser, and he can do more damage if he lives longer"
    Kled benefits from survivability mainly for two things: stalling for his rotation to be up, and staying mounted for longer so he has access to his stronger kit; it's not equivalent to someone like Sett who can convert HP directly into offensive stats (haymaker), or Darius who has naturally high base damage thanks to his free bonus AD and armor shred and true damage execute that he can afford to build pure defensive (quite in character as this the exact opposite of Kled, who has high natural survivability but want to use it for more damage).
    However, after some shifts in the meta, neither of these two problems is actually a problem in the current patch: Kled's base CD has been buffed multiple times throughout the last seasons to the point where he can reach almost permanent W uptime by stacking AH through lethality items, while also have higher damage output per-rotation through more offensive stats, while having better wave management by relying on AH rather than survivability, WHILE the change to the new minirune system fixed his shaky early game. For reference, currently at level 2, with the new 65 HP minirune and doran items, Kled would already be at 1000 HP counting Skaarl's HP; this is equivalent to a lot of champions at level 4-5, sometimes even at level 6, and his HP pool will generally be larger than most champions even when building full damage, while building HP really doesn't help half his kit during dismounted form. At this point I am willing to argue that HP is just straight up a stat tax on Kled in his build; it's technically not detrimental, but it actually is as you are losing the tempo of the game, while also risking harming yourself in the long run due to poorer scaling and descaling through enemy counter building. HP is also not a universally applicable stat increase to Kled, specifically because his dismount form notably gains 0 benefits from HP, compared to armor and MR. Not to say HP is actually bad on him (you are still gaining the benefit in your stronger form), but just less consistent on him, despite one might believe a lethality build would be greedier.
    "Kled scales better with HP"
    Well, first of all, nobody really looks at Kled and thinks "Man this guy will outscale Kayle"; given, he does do a bit better late game than before. But another reason why HP stacking is particularly bad is that the two core items he used to have on Bruiser build are bad, while one of his Bruiser cores ceases to exist. Goredrinker is no more (it was already pretty bad on him), while BC has been nerfed to the ground. Change to Titanic is overall a net negative as of right now: sure, you regain the auto-reset, but that feature does not scale nearly as well as it used to - well, technically it's not like you lose damage on that one single auto, but you lose damage almost EVERYWHERE ELSE compared to before, as Kled used to convert his bonus HP to AD through titanic (and his abilities only scales with bonus AD), which is removed with the current iteration of titanic, meaning apart from his autos he will do less damage, and to rub salt in wounds, profane hydra just does the whole burst through W+hydra proc thing better, while also scales better. Even in terms of survivability, I would argue that lethality gives you survivability better (easier remount through takedowns, higher scaling on his ultimate shield with AD, etc). One notable special exception I want to mention is Sterak's, as the shield is actually a lot of value even if you just build it alone since it actually gives him 720 effective HP, and 320 of that HP may apply during dismount - it is still worse than Gargoyle since Gargoyle gives you more effective HP without giving the enemy any max%HP damage, but RIP gargoyle I guess (btw also his best defensive option during mythic era for HP stacking builds).
    "frozen heart is bad because you lose gold value on mana"
    2400 gold Frozen Heart is actually 100% efficient in terms of gold value through the armor and AH alone; while this is usually not that great for a finished item, do remember that Frozen Heart is a lot cheaper than almost any completed items in the game right now, meaning you get to convert it to real power budget earlier, while also provides two very good passives: the rock-solid is actually quite strong for Kled because he starts with natural high HP (again, at level 2 you would already be looking at taking 3.5 less damage per auto), while the aura AS slow is quite valuable since it is the only real way currently in the game to reduce on-hit damage (especially on-hit true damage), which tends to consist of champions that counter Kled the most through max%HP on-hit damage. Now, I still think you should just ask your support or jungle to build this item, but it is by no means bad on Kled; in fact, I think it is one of his better defensive options.
    Anyway, long tangent, I'm sure Soul with his much better experience already covered many of these topics, but I like to rant like a maniac and also just in case he somehow missed any of these points.

    I have a question soulmario.. I've been playing kled for about 3 years now and I think i heard a while back that deaths dance actually hinders kled rather than helping him.. Could you explain how death dance works in general and how it synergizes wit kled? I've read about death dances passive and I've tried researching deaths dance used on kled but I've gotten nothing. If you get the chance I'd love to hear about the item bc I've always wanted to buy it vs full AD teams.. Ty gang

      This is just a guess but I’d imagine there isn’t a special interaction. I think it’s bad on kled because once unmounted your HP is way more precious than when mounted. And if you have deaths dance youre immediately taking damage when you unmount from the deaths dance passive.

      ​​​​@@eamonshea4566this, and the item actually kills you instead of helping because of the true damage burn that doesnt get cleansed when you dismount, every extra damage should be gone but this item makes you still getting damaged, and even if you kill someone, unmounted kled max health is too low so you just waste a lot of heal, and also the stats inst even that good because it gives low ad and armor, there are items which gives a lot more of these stats and actually have an useful passive, thats why dd never have been a good item in theory for kled. But for some reason when I see chinese/korean master+ kled games they build a lot of dd and wit, another item that isnt supposed to be good on kled,but i guess they are just broken and good for team play so they just buy it.

      yeah, basically the stats are strong and the heal on takedown is good, but the main anti-synergy it has with Kled is that normally when you get overkilled off Skaarl (for example, let's say you have 200 hp left on skaarl and you take 800 dmg from something) you would usually just dismount and ignore all that other damage completely.
      If you have death's dance though, you keep bleeding as if that damage actually hit you, so a lot of times it makes you take more damage than you normally would have plus any type of damage over time effect still ticks and damages Kled while he's untargetable in his dismount, so you will always be dropping off of skaarl missing some HP and situationally can be killed while you're in your dismount animation if Kled was low enough.

      @@lucashill561 Yeah, pretty much all of last season ga (and old hullbreaker) were like his only decent armor options, but now frozen heart and randuins buffs made them much more viable and can easily fit into a more bruisery build

      When I’m building heavy damage I generally rush hubris into profane hydra, if you’re not feeling like you will snowball you can go eclipse into profane, and then situational items after like youmuus, maw, axiom, seryldas/mortal (if building heavy lethality then seryldas, otherwise mortal) ga, oppurtunity, serpents, frozen heart all good options depending on the game and how you’re playing

      @@Soulmario Due to a translation error into Spanish, I thought that eclipse no longer inflicted percentage damage, but I just saw it again and they already corrected it but I think the values are still wrong because it shows me 20% damage to health lol
      This undoubtedly makes it a great starting item added to its low cost and high AD.

      it’s okay but personally not a big fan of it on kled, he has a lot of attack speed and %dmg in his kit already so I feel it’s better to focus on bigger AD and pen items to not only benefit those abilities but his Qs and Es as well.
      Eclipse is also very strong atm, does a big chunk of %hp dmg and has a better stat lineup for him if that’s what I was looking for

      I would say either go hubris into profane (if you are confident you will pick up several kills) or eclipse into profane (a bit safer) into situational items like youmuus/serpents/maw/seryldas (if going lethality, otherwise mortal reminder for %pen) axiom/ga/etc lot of options depending on game and comp you're against. You can see how I generally build in my most recent games

      I like lethality build ( i play it for like 2 season i think ) but i wanna try new things so i wonder is the current titanic build ppl use more viable than the lethality one

      @@vnpenguin7227 titanic hydra is still good, but it’s better to go something like eclipse first and then titanic second or third item, cleaver is really awful after its nerfs (6% less armor shred, 10 less haste, and the game doesn’t let you buy any other % pen item if you have it) so I’d recommend mortal reminder if you need armor pen. After that you can go maw/ga/youmuus/randuins/serpents/axiom whatever else based on enemy team

    Yes, but im still building titanic with eclipse dominik collector and bork\bloodthirster , because the auto reset is such a good burst and urgent eclipse proc, + the 220 damages late game , with a lucky crit. Man this shit hit hard on squishies and you save up a bit of passive use

      eclipse titanic are still really good on him, mortal reminder is a bit better than lord Dominik’s because you will very rarely have that much less hp than the enemy especially if you’re building titanic, bloodthirster and collector can be okay though and yeah if you reset auto and double crit you delete people

    if the enemy has no or few executes and u build a bit of specific resists tho, couldnt it be better to build a couple hp items since u basically get access to all of that entire bonus hp twice in a fight?

      yeah if the enemy team doesn’t have any %max, current, missing hp damage as well as no or very little executes and assuming you get the remount off then building some hp would be helpful. I just feel like it’s generally a rare situation, but not impossible

      ​@@Soulmario also is current hp any worse on kled than other champs? even if his hp bar is counted as one ,id imagine current hp only takes into account kled's own health bar when dismounted. and when remounted, if u took dmg on dismount, its like ur back at full hp but actually take less current hp than u should be taking at actually fullhealth (if ur stacking bonus hp). like ur getting the full value of ur bonus hp twice, but the second time around current hp dmg is less effective against it

      @@here1334 current hp damage against kled works exactly as max would, always taking both of his hp bars into account. Even if you are dismounted and at 1000 hp let’s say, you will take the percentage of your total health from where you’re at, so it will still be chunking you at high amounts since you’re only accessing one of these hp bars at a time

      @@here1334 it leans more towards the reverse, you are taking damage as if you were using both hp bars at once all the time as far as any type of %hp dmg is concerned, so you’re receiving much less benefit from any hp value unless you’re only dealing with flat damage champions and items

      @@Soulmario but doesnt current hp only take into account only the actual health points u have left i.e. the green portion of the hp bar, not the entire hp pool? so in that case, for mounted u are taking as much current hp dmg as any other champ would be taking if they had the same amount of hp, then dismounted u are taking the same amount of dmg as any other champ with that amount of hp left would.
      and then on remount, if u took dmg as dismounted, u will regain your entire bonus hp but the current hp dmg u receive will be less than at full hp because your current hp would be less than full (because kled took dmg), fortification which can be multiplicatively increased by any resists. so in a way if u take a bit of dmg before/while remounting u are fortifying the hp u get on remount against current hp, without being worse off than any other champ vs. % current hp at any stage of the mount remount cycle
      or maybe im stupid and misunderstood how current hp dmg works

    It seems very paradoxical and bad to me that this is so, since it is assumed that someone who builds health seeks more durability in this but ends up obtaining the opposite, so what would be the purpose of health in the first place? It would be as ridiculous as if by buying damage you would end up doing less
    This makes me think there is a problem in the game based on health and damage percentage. but as long as things like HeartSteal, Sion or Chogat exist this will never be balanced

      On one hand I think it wasn’t really considered an issue at the time he released because %hp dmg and executes were WAY rarer back then. A few years after his release they stated they were making a more conscious effort to add those types of damage forms into the game and now it’s everywhere both on champs and on items
      But at the same time he’s not really meant to build “tanky” exactly even though he’s a bruiser, his defense mainly comes from the whole dismount and remount mechanic but it is way too ridiculous atm that it’s gotten to the point where 90% of games I would feel extremely punished buying any big hp items on a melee fighter

    Im 8 minutes in and you explained how hp works in this game and, that Kled has 2 hp bars and when u drop below a certain threshold he dismounts and has his other hp bar. If you play any other champion, you have the same interactions: If you drop to 50% hp, u only have half of your hp left. Missing health damage becomes stronger. If you build hp items, you get more max health. So max hp damage will be stronger. I really dont see, how that is Kled specific. You basically made an almost 30 minutes video and you took 10 minutes to explain surface level gameknowledge to your audience. The first part of the video after the introduction should have been 3 minutes length at the very maximum.

      The difference is that you will only have access to a portion of ur max hp, but take %hp dmg as if you were using the whole pool at once. So even if you have 3000 hp, your current hp bar at full health will only be something like 1500, so taking 10% max hp will deal 300 to you even though that would be 20% of your current health bar.
      So both of your individual forms are getting melted through much faster than a normal health bar, but it is pretty confusing so I don’t blame you

      @@Soulmario If you dismount from Skarl and you have, lets say 1500 HP left, what is 50%, than everything interacts the same like having 50% of your max HP on other champions?
      My main criticism at that video was, that u were actually taking a lot of time, explaining stuff, without clarifying these important parts.

      it doesn't work the same as other champs, because when you're dismounted you physically can not heal past the max kled base hp you have at that level. So you are taking damage as if you are missing 50% even though you can't heal any additional while simultaneously taking max hp with both of your health bars added together even though you are at the max you can possibly be at in that individual form. I explain that several times throughout the video with different examples and abilities, I know the video is SUPER long but it's simply because I explain this in quick 2 sentence terms on stream multiple times a day, I just wanted to use a video as a chance to more thoroughly describe it and show visual examples since I know it's more helpful to some people to learn that way@@Spr7ritus

      @@Soulmario Ok, thats actually an important information. I completely missed that. For me, that went under. And this is where my criticism comes from.
      At a certain point of complexity, I would make a script like Point 1 " How HP Works", (max 3 minutes), Point 2 "how Kled HP Bar works". etc. setup a tinelimit for each part and sticking to it. From my opinion, you were over accelerating your explanations and degressing on things, that are not this important.
