@@r129r16pfl Lancia Delta won 6 constructors championships back to back from 87' to 92' and 4 drivers titles. As much as I like the Celica it does not match the Delta in terms of results. The ST185 only had a short run of brilliance and the demise would have been there anyways after 94' considering the 205 came out and that car was according to Mr.Kankkunen in almost every way worse than the 185. They had to cheat to be competitive and still didn't win a single rally that year. Delta had a nice window of competitivness where the car won atleast one rally every year from 87' to 92'.
@@srxt6758Auriol won Corsica in 1995 with the ST205, even though he benefited from Thiry´s retirement in the Escort Cosworth. And indeed, the Delta was the most dominant car from the group A era. What a machine ! ❤
Cars now look for stability, downforce and grip. Back then it was speed, power and speed...and a bit of grip otherwise it would be a Group C car. And we love both so that says something about us
it's always cool when you see someone doing exactly what you'd do if you were living their life. Of course I'd go rallying in the legendary cars I idolised growing up. so sick
I own the at180 and I am going to do an engine swap on it this winter. Though I am going to put 4age silver top in it instead of the 3sgte these rally cars use... But I can achieve similar or even higher power results from that engine than what I would with the naturally aspirated 3sge
people really underestimate how hard modern WRC cars are to drive. yes there's downforce yet these 1300kg cars make 450-500hp without any driver assist systems - not even abs. even group B played with downforce, a lot. Hannu Mikkola said after he lost his Quattro rear wing; "I didn't believe in much benefits of these wings after I lost mine... It made a huge difference" . From a Finnish interview.
Rubbish. 90's cars were very good already, which is why Juha Kankkunnen said "WRC is for boys, Group B was for men." But then he tested a 2022 GR Yaris Rally1, and said: "These cars are like Group B; for the men, not for the boys."
it's incredible how confident he is in the car
Vamo arriba nació y se crio arriba de un auto y campeon del mundo de WRC. No es tu vecino el verdulero que maneja un fiat de los 90 a 70km/h.

This is one car that dethroned lancia Delta, the st185 Celica, even the subies and EVOS were no match.

Love the sound of these!
Fa un altro mestiere 😃 tanta, tanta roba 😄
I love this car
I have an ST182. Always dreamed of modding it to ST185.... Sadly it's increasingly difficult to find replacement parts, let alone mod it.

2022: Cars being too dependent on downforce and grip.
1990s: Cars only depends on driver themselves.
1980s: Cars depends on drivers themselves EVEN MORE

Watch this man drive an Audi Quattro Group B
did he win?
He was in the "Legend Stars" category, which consists of a non-competitive parade.

In other words he's driving a Celica like it should be driven.
