I prefer the Folio Keyboard over the Magic Keyboard. I just sold my Magic Keyboard actually. I prefer the versatility of the Folio and the lightness. If I want a better typing experience and trackpad, thats what my MacBook Pro is for.
hi! can i fold the keyboard backwards whilst the ipad is still standing up (not flat), like when i want to watch a movie but the keyboard is in the way. can the keyboard be folded out of the way while the ipad is still rather vertical?
Exactly what brought me here. Just ordered a folio and plan to retire the magic kb. It removed the tablet aspect imo. I constantly used it as a laptop replacement and I’d rather use my laptop for that. I would highly recommend the magic kb for someone without a MacBook.
Exactly the reason why I got a Smart Keyboard Folio today! The Magic Keyboard makes it a limited laptop which I don’t need.

So, I had to break down and buy him his own iPad. This was an EXCELLENT price on AMAZON! He loves it, he and his sister can play games together.
I bought the magic keyboard first and liked it but after watching some Smart Keyboard reviews it had me curious because of how versatile it looked. I bought one and compared it to my magic keyboard and i prefer to use the smart key board more than the magic keyboard. Though i agree that the keys on the Smart Keyboard aren’t as satisfying as the magic keyboard, I’d still prefer to use the Smart Keyboard since it’s waterproof compared to the magic keyboard. Personally that’s a plus for me since i like to always have a drink next to me when I’m at Starbucks lol. Overall I personally can’t justify the price of the magic keyboard after using the Smart Keyboard so I’m sticking with the Smart Keyboard for my iPad Air 4.
I have this folio keyboard on my 2018 ipad pro. It's been ~2+ years too and mine looks completely beat up :)). You must be baby sit your, so that it still looks like new.

Have you not experienced some troubleshooting like the Smart Keyboard folio randomly stops working?

Thanks for this review! I’ve been trying to decide what keyboard would work best for me. I’d like to use a tactile keyboard to get back into writing and I REALLY wanted the cheaper option, but it looks like I’ll be leaning more towards the Magic Keyboard

Seems from what I gather both the magic keyboard at $300 plus dollars starts to determinate after a year of use. I guess they just don’t build things like they use to? Save money, but at the same time charge as much as possible. Seems to be the apple way.
i hate the keyboard too lol but its too late for me to return it... just when the Magic Keyboard is on sale for $199 on amazon! ugh

I wouldn't; then it would look worse on computers.
Gotta have the track pad. Logitech makes one w a track pad. 1.25 pounds. Much lighter than the others...

Is your screen damaged from being against the keys the whole time? My 2019 13 inch pro has some screen damage from the keys (when closed of course) :-(
I have it now for 1 year, and it doesn‘t damage the screen. :)
@@likeluca Thanks, man. Indeed, no damage after 7 months on mine. But it gets smudges and it’s started to peel on corners. I am EXTRA careful and clean it often with bottle water. Apple being Apple, I guess.
