My heart goes out to all those who were, at the time too far away, too young, into something else. Glad I was lucky to be born in London in the mid-late 60s. I had it all....
When I was young, my mom use to love this style of music. Everyday I would hear it, whether it be in the car or in the house. I have yet to regret following that same pattern, what a wonderful era of music.
I grew up in Cali in the 80's and we did not have this crazy Chicago Style House Music..We had good music but nothing as good as this...Chicago party people seemed to push the limits of club music to the extreme...I am thankful for you guys posting these songs and sharing Chicago style jams...
Nothing like the hollow and echo sounding old skool acid house. This was an era when house was about the music and not about being just a show off like the clubs today, too bad I did not know about it back then, I would have liked some of it as a kid. first heard tonight Wednsday June 4th 2008 signed Manga1
Yes but we did it without a history of supporting a mustachioed Austrian man in WW2. BOOYAH. Chicago is the heart of the hear of the heart of the world, baby.
life and music will never be like this again ... dam I wish I could go back in time see old friends that past and seeing them dance to this music with no worries......
cool. I live in Canada, 16 hours away, but it might as well have been another planet in the 1980's. I kept hearing about house music until someone finally had a tape of the show, and when I heard it, I went ahhhh.... I was DJing too and played a portion of the tape.
moma didnt have to call you in the house come friday night cause the mixes came on at ten o clock that was then this now an im happy to have lived to remember those good old days wished i could go back for one more friday night.
I Sing The Funk Electric......the track after that one.......Move, Move, Move, Free Your Body.......Chicago House at it's finest mixed up by one of the great House DJ's Steve "Silk" Hurley. Southsyeed in this mofo, damn it!!
Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Scott "Smokin" Silz, Ralphi "The Razz" Rosario, Kenny "Jammin" Jason, Julian "Jumpin" Perez, Mickey "Mixin" Oliver, Mike "Hitman" Wilson, Frankie "Hollywood" Rodriguez, Bad Boy Bill, etc... Those were the best DJs back in the day in "Chi-town"!
What I miss about back then, is not only the music itself, but the variety and eclectic nature of the mixes(even top 40 radio was pretty eclectic back in the 80's). House, Garage, 70's disco, electro/freestyle, Italo and HINRG, synth -pop and new wave, the occasional dancy funk, R&B, rap,or pop song, all mashed up together. There is nothing like that now. Everything is over marketed or all sounds the same.
Wow. This takes me back 20 plus years! Listening to House Music never gets old. I miss the Warehouse days. Do they still have the House Music Festival near...Laramie?

My friends and I would call up the local cable channels in Milwaukee to try to talk them into carrying this station on the local network. Never succeeded. Damn this station was the best in the country for dance music. Milwaukee stations sucked compared to this, but what would one expect from such a back-azz city, compared to Chi-town?

FUCK NYC THEY NEVER LOVED YOU THE WAY WE DID ..WE BROUGHT THAT SHIT TO NYC ...DONT LET THEM TELL YA OTHERWISE..THEIR CLUBS WAS 90% JERZEE ...OUR HIGH SCHOOL DANCES WERE BETER THAN THEIR CLUBS!!!

i,m in uk i would just like to say THANKS....
It amazes me how many of these songs are Italo disco or other genres. House may have its home in Chicago but it owes a lot to places like Milan.
Yes but we did it without a history of supporting a mustachioed Austrian man in WW2. BOOYAH. Chicago is the heart of the hear of the heart of the world, baby.
I love Steve Silk Hurley and love this old Italo song! Perfect combo!! Amazing! Slightly speeded up as well.... nice!!!
