That's exactly why Senna who won just 3 championships has been considered as the greatest ever by many aficionados of the motorsport, and surely was rated higher than Prost who won more by most unbiased people. Because he could do things in a race car, Prost couldn't even dream of doing. It's very similar with Max and Lewis.
Max made the RB so dominant last year. The car wasn't dominant like the Merc of 2014 to 2020, it was M4X that was dominant. That's why he won this year with a car that wasn't the best for about 75% of the year.

F1 drivers are good at racing, but Max actually LOVES racing. That’s all he does, and he is currently best driver in the world and human racing history.

I mean have they not listened to his radio or to his other interviews when he he has repeatedly said he focuses on what he is doing and how his race is going. He could give a shit about anyone else when he gets in that car. His focus is singular.

After his departure, RBull managed to score only 1 single win, no pole and dropped to third in the constructors' championship standings. Somebody had to say it.
Except he didn’t build the whole car. He oversaw one part. He’s also then to blame for the car falling off. If you give him full credit for it being good, he gets full blame for the car being designed into a corner.

Newey moved from focusing on aero to overseeing development of the RB at a holistic level a year or so ago (ie: all the parts of something like aero, suspension, cooling etc are interconnected and can be explained only by reference to the whole). An example of this was the evolution of RBR’s aero strategy (headed up by Enrico Balbo) in 2023 & 2024. Although not involved in the day to day design, it was Newey who figured out the link between optimising suspension and aero which is one reason why Red Bull had such a performance advantage in 2023 & the start of 2024. In short (and to plagiarise a song title) designers like Wasche, Waterhouse & Balbo see the crescent but Newey sees the whole of the moon and it’s that which makes him one of the GOATs of F1 design.
@@Arsenic71 I think you’ll find the chassis and aero (which was Newey & teams responsibility) during 2014 to 2018 wasn’t the reason for Red Bulls uncompetitiveness, it was the Renault PU (vastly inferior to the Mercedes and later Ferrari Power Units). Once they stared to use Honda engines the car became more competitive until 2021 when it was on par and sometimes better than the all conquering Mercedes.
