Yes Ishter did play like godlike. But I don't know but in consistency wise? F.B.'s version cover is more smoother. I've listened to other youtubers cover for this, they are all good and have their own sense of style, however think out of all yuri on ice, they were a bit off throughout the song. If you compare the first intro part. Listenn closely, it's so fkin consistent it gives you chills. But let's give appreciation to all the youtubers who gave us these beautiful covers. They are all godlike and amazing

It wasn't perfectly played you can tell that he was playing it to fast and it is supposed to be played by two people and there is no " perfectly played just like the original " and give other people some credit for trying.
Ok, it's been about 2 weeks since I started practising this, and I've already got some tips. I have got the first minute and half done to the very least. I will try to keep updating this for anyone interested in trying to play this. Keep in mind that I followed the piano tutorial of this (made by the same dude), only a bit of the sheet music, and have super long fingers, so it might be harder for some people, and I have school work and stuff, so I don't have much free time to practice. You don't need to follow these, but I found that this helped me. Btw I've been playing the piano for 2 years... I honestly don't think I have the skills for this but hey. 1. Start with the right-hand tune, don't put it together with the left. The right-hand position is a bit awkward when you first try it out, so I recommend just practising the runs on and off the keys. After you start picking up the run, start to pick up the pace. 2. If you want, watch the tutorial on 0.5x speed. This will give you time to figure out the keys coming up and help you build up the speed. Gradually, you can increase it until you can keep up with the actual pace. 3. Listen out for when the left-hand plays. For some reason, I found it hard to keep in time with my right-hand so I tried it realllllyyy slowly and then sped it up. 4. Listen to the song 1000 times. Yeah, you might get sick of it, but when you know the tune off by heart, you know how it should sound. You can also listen and just kind of "play" off the piano when you don't have one to practise on. 5. Patience. I'm one of those impatient pianists and I'm guilty of smacking all the keys down when I'm angry, but I try to tell myself that I can do it. :) 6. When playing the second set of sharps in the first part of the piece, you have to quickly change to the run and the extra two notes with the left (idk if that makes any sense) so personally I would practice moving from one place to another because you need to do it quite quickly. well, it makes sense for yurio won because his technique excels much more than yuri. also, if yuri wins the meet it would be too cliché (happy ending for the main character) and nothing for the audience to speculate on. with yuri finishing second and asking viktor to be his coach until he earns gold actually gives the audience more ideas to speculate on and is a more profitable route that anime producers can take in order to forge a second season and to make money.

the only tip i have for people trying to play this, listen to this song a lot, LIKE A LOT, get the rhythm embedded in your memory, its really easy to forget the tempo and the synchronizations of the right and left hand, if you keep that in mind then the only problem needed to overcome is the big gaps between notes and those get better with practice. Good luck to whoever's trying this! Edit: HOLY SHIT bro its been 11 months. completed learning this song. gave up in between but revisited it, still had to modify the last part to make it not have the insane amount of runs on the left hand. great song though, my blessings with whoever is learning this

kayleyy_ most piano players practice at least 2 hrs a day. it's to keep up with speed n the hand's "flexibility". don't worry, you can get there more quickly with more practice 😊
kayleyy_ i've been doing piano for 4 & a half years. i feel like for this song you would need to practice doing scales & stuff, then this song will be easier. i promise one day you'll be able to play this if you practice a lot. it took me ages to learn fur elise but i can finally play it, the practice is all worth it in the end :)

Theres something so intimate about this piece of music to me, even without the show the piece makes me think of two people dancing. At first their a little out of sync, but the longer it goes on for, the more intimate the dance becomes and the more in sync they are, until finally their performing a perfect waltz, the piece is almost depicting love and trust growing as the piece goes on.

I don't know if this comment will get lost... but imagine how I first heard this song: I teach at an arts high school, and there is a piano in the cafeteria that students use every day during breaks and lunch and, well, all the time. I had just got my lunch and was walking thru the cafeteria and I heard a random student playing this from like 50 feet away, and my soul called me to the piano. I walk over (granted, I am not even a piano player myself, but your heart knows when it hears a work of beauty). I came over, just was totally in the moment for a full minute. Wanting to also capture the moment, I video'd the last 30 seconds of the performance, then afterwords, clapped and thanked the performer, asked if I had permission to keep the video I took, and told them how inspiring and beautiful it was. It was a moment I will treasure forever.

well, it makes sense for yurio won because his technique excels much more than yuri. also, if yuri wins the meet it would be too cliché (happy ending for the main character) and nothing for the audience to speculate on. with yuri finishing second and asking viktor to be his coach until he earns gold actually gives the audience more ideas to speculate on and is a more profitable route that anime producers can take in order to forge a second season and to make money.

the only tip i have for people trying to play this, listen to this song a lot, LIKE A LOT, get the rhythm embedded in your memory, its really easy to forget the tempo and the synchronizations of the right and left hand, if you keep that in mind then the only problem needed to overcome is the big gaps between notes and those get better with practice. Good luck to whoever's trying this!
Edit: HOLY SHIT bro its been 11 months. completed learning this song. gave up in between but revisited it, still had to modify the last part to make it not have the insane amount of runs on the left hand. great song though, my blessings with whoever is learning this

kayleyy_ most piano players practice at least 2 hrs a day. it's to keep up with speed n the hand's "flexibility". don't worry, you can get there more quickly with more practice 😊
kayleyy_ i've been doing piano for 4 & a half years. i feel like for this song you would need to practice doing scales & stuff, then this song will be easier. i promise one day you'll be able to play this if you practice a lot. it took me ages to learn fur elise but i can finally play it, the practice is all worth it in the end :)

Theres something so intimate about this piece of music to me, even without the show the piece makes me think of two people dancing. At first their a little out of sync, but the longer it goes on for, the more intimate the dance becomes and the more in sync they are, until finally their performing a perfect waltz, the piece is almost depicting love and trust growing as the piece goes on.

I don't know if this comment will get lost... but imagine how I first heard this song: I teach at an arts high school, and there is a piano in the cafeteria that students use every day during breaks and lunch and, well, all the time. I had just got my lunch and was walking thru the cafeteria and I heard a random student playing this from like 50 feet away, and my soul called me to the piano. I walk over (granted, I am not even a piano player myself, but your heart knows when it hears a work of beauty). I came over, just was totally in the moment for a full minute. Wanting to also capture the moment, I video'd the last 30 seconds of the performance, then afterwords, clapped and thanked the performer, asked if I had permission to keep the video I took, and told them how inspiring and beautiful it was. It was a moment I will treasure forever.
