This is a very pretty stitch, but I had a heck of time getting it right. I did not see the 'v' finally I noticed what I I call an ' eyelash ' on the top and went for it. I am not done with my block yet, but I love this stitch.
I just found this stitch…not sure where I was…when you were talking about it. I even said to myself, “I wonder if Kayla from AK, knows about this stitch”. I’m late to the party…forgive me. But I was right, that you know the stitch 🧡🖤💚
Very pretty stitch. The pattern looks so relaxing. Does anyone have suggestions about yarns similar to Wander? Most of their colors are sold out. I like the sheen. It makes the stitches pop.
I'm fairly sure this isn't the case with what's worn here but a cheap way to have fishnet gloves/arm warmers it to grab a pair of fishnet stockings, cut a hole in the crotch for your head & slip your arms into the legs. Your fingers can go right through the holes at the feet. It was my cheap hack when I was doing baby doll dresses/blazers/kinderwhore chic thing in the 90's.
I love this stitch! It was so fun and easy to work up that I did it over the weekend, and now I'm trying to decide what to do while I wait (im)patiently for next month's square! Thanks for putting this together, you nailed it with this one, it is so drapy and the texture is great!
This is lovely to make. Word of advice to newbies: be careful of your tension. Keep the stitches a bit loose otherwise you'll never find that chain one in the middle. I started it a bit stressed out and the first few rows were too tight. Chill out and enjoy! 🖤
I have screwed this up big time. I don’t even know how to fix it. It’s discouraging because I thought the stitch was pretty. Guess it’s back to the more basic stitches for me.
@@AltKnots My tension was too tight because I was a bit stressed the day I started 😅 I need to learn to take a big deep breath before starting and just chill ☃️
@@meygganne1009It's all part of the process 🖤 I made a mistake too! My tension was way off. Don't feel bad about starting again. It's all part of doing new things. You've got this!
As a newbie I will appreciate that it seems basic enough. But what would you suggest this stitch be used on with other then to make a panel out of it? I’m definitely still going to have to watch this a few times and probably write down the directions step by step. But now I have my first project for 2023 and the stitch sampler. I might even take it along with me tomorrow for the car ride.
You could probably easily make an entire blanket out of just this stitch instead of just a panel. It's seems a good stitch for those who don't like holes in their blankets (Baby and pet blankets as well) and you could use a cotton blend possibly to make it not as stuffy for those that tend to overheat easily while sleeping or live in warmer climates or for warmer seasons.
Ive used v-stitch patterns like this for shawls. The drape is gorgeous and once you get used to working with it, it goes super quick! Keeping count of the rows is the hardest part!
Hi happy new year I'm a beginner but looking forward to learning with you love your channel I really wish l could share a photo with you as l saved a Amigurumi crocheted jumping spider for my son it his favourite of all spider's and it's super cute 🕷️
I'd really like to use Caron simply soft since I have so much of it. But I can't ever find that ch 1 space. I guess I would have to crochet more loosely.
I hated this stitch. When I finally got it done and saw the February video where she says it should be 23x23, I measured it. Definitely 5in too short. Starting it over and measuring, making sure to keep it loose, I realized this stitch is pretty fun. Lol my tension made it so hard. 😅
Would love to join in with this. How many skeins do I need for this months square? Don’t have much at home so gonna need to purchase more anyways. I’d like to buy it all at once.
I have a question for you Kayla I'm planning on making your CAL blanket in May but for the zigzag stitch to attach the panels together how much would I need ?
Where did you get this yarn? I would like to see how it works up my self since it looks like it works up really nicely!! I'm a little behind on the crochet along since I've been in kind of a slump these last few months, I hope to get caught up so i can be ready for next month!
I finished it, and I'm probably going to have to do it again, bc noob and tension 🙃 but how long should our tails be, and are we sewing them in? nothing was mentioned about that in the video.
@Alt Knots Thank you! I've seen patterns where the tails are left long for using to attach later. Since this is all mystery, I wasn't sure what you had planned for the end.
If yall don't work in yards for how much yarn you need, I'm on row 47 and just finished my first 100 gram skein, so I'm guessing two skeins (just not the whole of the second one)
So I've finally finished January's square (yes I am aware that I'm a month behind already lmao). However, I've noticed that my 70 foundation chains across must have been tighter than yours, and so my square is a little smaller - but still a square. I've started February's and my 80 foundation chains across with my first row completed is approx 7-8 stitches longer than the width of the January square. My questions is ... will this effect my final project? Should I frog and start February again with 7 less stitiches? Should I add a boarder to my January square (and if so, how)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm starting to lose my OCD-ADHD mind 🤯🤣
If you want the blanket to be the same size as mine each square is 23 by 23 inches. But this is a make it your own type of crochet along! I'd say just make sure each square is the same size, whatever that is. So for the February square I'd work it to be the same size as your January square and keep going from there :)
Does anyone know the yardage for this square? I'm pretty new so I don't have the slightest clue how much yarn to buy and I want to have it in time for the stitch and scream! Thanks!
I'm 3/4 through and found a mistake 5 rows in.... uuuuugh. I want to rip out but I want to catch up. Maybe I will just deal with it and re-do it I'd I have time.
Yeah, but it's intended as a stitch-a-long. Fast forwarding makes it only a tutorial and defeats the purpose of stitching along. Most people have the ability to skip ahead 10 seconds through stuff like that.
Gorgeous stitch. Never seen it before. So much better texture than a plain single stitch. This would make a beautiful sweater.
Thank you.
Idk how I've haven't come across you before but you came up as a suggestion as I opened my app. I'm glad to have another crochet channel to watch
Welcome to the yarn dungeon! Thanks for stopping in🦇
I needed the background music after a loooonnng day! Love the concept and the color xo
Starting late but i Finally started my first square.
I love this! This blanket is going to be my hexmas gifts this year. So I have started 9 🤣❤🖤
What a great idea!
I chose the retro strips redheart because rebel haha and wow I ended up using a lot more than 300 yards. No big, it's going to be a killer blanket.
This is a very cool stitch! Thanks Kayla, always slaying it! Hugs from Nebraska
Cheers! I’m glad you love stitch🦇
love the January stitch. Do have a question tho how much yarn is going to be needed, so I can prepare.
Yeah I'm wondering this too
If you haven't found the answer yet, it's 3600 yds total for the whole blanket. 300 yards per square each month.
Hello I'm super excited to get started. What is the overall all yardage and yardage per square. Thank you
I love this stitch. It makes beautiful things. Thanks for sharing!!! Have a good night!!!
That's my favorite color ❤️❤️❤️
I've needed to learn more stitches. This is perfect. I may have to do multiple blankets.
It's been such a long time since I picked up a yarn project and I am a big horror fan... totally went out and got the gear to get started!!

This whole line has such an amazing sheen to it🖤

I can do this

I have screwed this up big time. I don’t even know how to fix it. It’s discouraging because I thought the stitch was pretty. Guess it’s back to the more basic stitches for me.
What’s happening with the stitch? If the tension is too tight and you can’t see the ch 1 space you can always go up a size in hooks🎃

300 yards per square and 3,600 for the whole blanket
what are the colours that you will be using please
Interesting that single crochet v stitch is also called spider stitch. This looks great.
This pattern would be pretty to make a choker necklace.
It totally would!
When are you posting square 2? For February. Thank you

If you’re having troubles, I’d start the foundation chain with a 6.5mm hook so there’s a bit more space. Then switch to the 5.5mm hook for row 1🎃
