Lovely walk and stunning skies. I love hearing about the local history too. A beautiful time to reflect on memories both sad and special. An inspirational lady, inspiring you on your journey. I walk with my niece alot. The great outdoors is certainly good for the soul. Have a great 2025 Gavin. Bring on the camping. Xx
Hi Laura, the sunset was fantastic to witness. It’s great when an unplanned walk ends like that. These winter skies do spoil us. Thank you for your kind words. Hope all is well with you. Gav
I'm deeply sorry to hear of your loss, Gav. But I think it's also a testament to yourself, being able to evaluate and assess your own life and needs. To set yourself goals, like the wild camping. Really enjoyed the feel and views of this video. We did have a great New Year's Eve-Day! 🙂
My thoughts are with you Gav. I cant imagine how you feel as I have never lost a significant family member. I'm off to Cape Town to see my mum for her 80th in March. We said our goodbyes 2 yrs ago when I last visited as she was unwell. I hope she makes her 80th. Lets hope the sun shines in 2025 - have a Happy New Year!
Another well put together, tranquil video. Must have been a difficult one to make, sorry for your loss. I enjoy seeing the area in which you hike. I'm familiar with the area though it's from my past. Your walks are an inspiration.
That walk is perfect for when you want to see big skies with lots of natural wildlife as the woods and the winding river attracts them. Thank you for your kind words. I wanted people to remember or know how wonderful my mum was. It was difficult to make. Thanks again, appreciate your comment. 🙂👍🏻
Such a beautiful landscape and sunshine too. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mum., there’s never a right time to lose someone so dear. I lost my dad late on Christmas Eve in 2008, now always a time for reflection. Getting out there enjoying nature at its best is always good for the soul and that walk, captured the light at its most beautiful. I wish you all the best. And all the best of everything for the new year. ❤️🩹xx
Hi Gav, beautiful video. I lost my mum in 2021, I miss her all the time and now I'm crying after watching your video. I hope you have a much happier 2025.
Oh, so sorry to also hear of your loss Carrie, I certainly know what you’re going through. There are just no words. I keep trying to think about how mum would be telling me to get on with things, be happy and make the most of circumstances. Just a case of one foot in front of the other at the moment. Thank you for your kind words. Gav
@HikingForHealth1 It does get better, It took me about a year to feel right again, but you never stop missing them. You're quite right, your mum would want you to get out there and live your life☺

A beautiful day for a hike Gav, and why not reminisce about lost loved ones, especially at this time of year. Your love for her is obvious. I dont think we are ever ready for losing a close relative and its not something you get over, you just get more used to it. Life is hard, and so precious. Moving on to 2025 - hope it brings you wealth, health and happiness mate!
Thanks for your kind words Phil. I hadn’t planned to talk about mum, just seemed that the time was right when I got sat down with my coffee. She was an advocate of my hobby and loved the fact that I was getting outdoors so much and really enjoyed hearing about the wild camps. Happy New Year to you Phil.
Made me cry dude and your mum was very lucky to have you as son.
Thanks for your kind words bud. She was certainly a special person and I was the lucky one 😞

Hiiii, new subscriber here! One thing I am always after is a postcode and advice of where to park. Could you include these please?
That’s a great idea; it’ll try and include that. 🙂
@HikingForHealth1 great thanks so much!
