Amazing Speakers. Even now they're among the best for the price range. If you prefer a wider sound scene and a bit less monitor-like, but more impressive-like (hard to describe really) I would say for the price there is no competition. I was very impressed by the sound.
These speakers are fully amazing..the sharp attack on low bass frequencies has to be heard to be believed..and the mids and highs are very nicely integrated.. Got mine with matching high quality stands and delivered for $893 in OZ (Austin Technology).. STOKED. :o)
I have Edifiers in my garage man-cave and I plan on having a pair of these on the main floor of a new home. My main system will be on the lower level due to space and layout considerations. I have been thoroughly impressed by the Edifiers I already have.
These are incredible speakers in my opinion. Got them for $430 recently, and while I think they're very good for most types of music, they're exceptional for trance, house, orchestra (yes!) music. I say that because I feel the mids could do just a tad better, but really, overall awesome speakers, especially for the price! Great tweeter, incredible bass. And it's a deep bass, it's not just faking it by boosting the 80-100 hz range. It can go LOW, brilliant for movies even. I feel it's quite tight and quick, I do think you don't really need a subwoofer. Comparable with much more expensive speakers I feel. Good job, Edifier, good job.
In 2022 I am considering buying S3000pro but the lack of HDMI ARC input is the only thing stopping me. If Edifier updates this model with an HDMI arc input, keeping everything the same, this will be a hot cake for TV users.
I love Edifier speakers. That said, add HDMI ARC inputs and sub-woofer outputs to your bookshelf speakers and I'd be your very best salesman. I already tell people about Edifiers but the lack of HDMI ARC (which isn't to be found on nearly any powered monitors) and the lack of sub-woofer outputs on most Edifier models limits my ability to recommend Edifier speakers. But the build quality and the performance of Edifier speakers are both top notch and generally a terrific value (though I haven't heard the s3000Pros so I can't say if they are worth the price, especially compared to the excellent s2000Pros, at half the cost).
I love Edifier. I've used their speakers on my desk for the past few years. They offer really good price to performance aka high value. I don't mean to sound like a shill but it kinda surprised me that these fkers have better quality than equivalent European, American, or Japanese speakers. They were also the only monitors I could find that sounded good and also had SPDIF input.
@@catji9266 Yeah bought 2 pairs since then... Absolutely love them!!!! Even Better then my 3000AUD Pioneer AMP with the Elac Unify UB5. These 3000PRO rocks!!!
@@pedecia :> Good! I got them November, eventually decided they're defintely better than what i had before - Q Acoustic Concept 20, Beta3 12" pro audio, and old Corals.Decided not to bother getting subwoofer, in a flat. Very underrated, audiophiles mostly ignore, think Edifier is China computer speakers. ..I'm no longer interested in KEF LS50W. :)
My thoughts.... 1) I am not sure what he means by wireless bandwidth 22 MBps wireless... I suspect he was talking about some proprietary 802.11 wireless connection using 22 MHz wide channels. I suspect that is also incorrect as most wi-fi implementations today using 802.11 are 20 MHz wide and capable of significantly more than 22 MBps of data depending on the modulation scheme. So I was left confused by those comments. Further - Depending on your wireless environment you use this in it could be problematic.... I would prefer a cable. Using a digital delay to sync the other speaker seems like a bad idea... especially for Hi-Res audio. At the end of the day if they are using the 802.11 2.4 GHz band, in high density environments - apartments buildings for example... I wonder how it will deal with other radios broadcasting on the same ISM Wi-Fi channel. There is only so much spectrum available, and getting worse every day with the myriad of 802.11 devices we all have that is growing at an exponential rate.... think IoT. For mission critical data - Music :-) - (and as an audiophile who is also a Wi-Fi engineer) I would prefer a wire. 2) It is not a subwoofer.... It is simply a woofer or bass frequency driver. I am not sure if those term is synonyms in his native language or if he was speaking marketing psychobabble. A better woofer or base driver should, from a frequency standpoint, should have produce more (often lower) frequencies typically leading to "fuller" sound. This is just as important for music as movies right.... because movies are made up of... music. A subwoofer out may be a good idea for those wanting even more bass extension. A proper 6.5" driver in the right cabinet should do a great job and is a great job for accurate detailed music, imho. I realize that people who modern bass heavy music would want more... so give them a way to get it. To be clear - I think they are a great company. I like their products very much and had a pair of S1000s for a time and am considering the S3000s... I think active monitors have an inherent advantage and are a wonderful design strategy. I agree with others sentiment, however, that they should design the products for audiophiles not for those seeking to create a movie experience. No 2 channel system is going to provide a movie experience that 5.1 does. Stick to what you do best - build and design speakers for music lovers that are the best value out there. That tweeter is implemented in a ... unique way. I wonder how it will perform from a sound-stage and high frequency detail perspective. My instinct is that a hard dome metal tweeter (especially at this price-point) would be more musical and perform better. I hope I am wrong. I look forward to in-depth reviews from audiophiles who will put them through their paces. Sorry for the long post.
Your "instinct" is worthless here. And "more musical" is audiophile bullshit. And Edifier certainly knows more a million times more about their strategies than you ever could. A company that has sold approx 100 million speakers.

im sure 4 will sound better then 2, great if you like floyd music. as a Floyd fan, you can get more kit for ya bucks for the 700 price tag even far as the zensor 5 and zensor 7 both are 5.1 both will cost less . even as far as buying 4 zensore 5s for the same price ?? these speakers do not even have gold plated connectors and to say before i here them ?? the selling point and what you paying for is the different connection types thats obvious
Gold plated connectors is snake oil. I used to be around a lot of pro audio production/performance equipment and not a single connector was gold. Pro audio people would be suspicious of equipment with gold connectors because they know it would be trying to dupe people like you. Gold connectors don't necessarily make the unit bad, but they confer no performance benefit. And if you were to be connecting wirelessly, the connectors are out of the equation anyway.
For £700 there are a lot of choices for speakers/monitors. The only way to judge what you think of their sounds is to actually hear them. There will be clear differences. Different people have different needs and wants for speaker set ups and connections. People in the market for this Edifier are not concerned about how they specifically handle Pink Floyd, and as the rep says himself said these speakers are not ideal for music. I don't mind if I'm feeding a troll here.
you are paying for connection types here, there still a single driver, and as for duping people like me lol i really do not care. but gold gives a pure signal, as they use them on pc stuff even top pc mobo for £600 with its own audio chips onborad will all be gold connectors. you just expect it when spending big for something so small, bottom line there not worth 700 considering what you can get for the same price and less,,,, dali are hand made even the driver domes are hand made traditional wood and look the part, ive seen many alloy domes on cheap speakers, not for me, so for sound cant see these been anything special as they are sold as a multi connection speakers, thats where your bucks go
