I just completed this in a medium and it took me about 3.5 balls of yarn or 780 yards or 1,050 grams. I used a weight 6 bulky blanket yarn and I lost some of my hooks so I used an 8mm hook instead. Turned out great, like a marshmallow! Recommend this pattern. Hope that helps someone!
you all probably dont care at all but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Ahmed Kenneth I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I made this sweater and it's absolutely beautiful! I added three more stitches than pattern required to last two rows of the front panel to narrow the neckline for a more snug turtleneck. I also made it a mock turtleneck because my neck is so short. I'm making it again in an orange and white stripe. Thanks Carrie for another fabulous pattern. You're an awesome teacher.
I love the way you help us follow. Thanks. I just finished this sweater and I love it. ♥️ I instead, used a light weight yarn and it came out beautiful too.
Crochet Foundry, they have wonderful patterns I all sizes! I’m an XXL and lately I have found most crochet patterns now will come in many sizes. I mention them because some of their designers are larger woman and that makes a difference.
Hi, love this pattern. Was a bit confused when you said double crochet. You definitely did a yarn over to begin the stitch. There is a difference between UK and US definitions. In UK this is a triple crochet. I wondered why my stitch didn't look the same. I took it out and started again and much better! Have just begun but enjoying making it. Always love roll neck jumpers.
I'm a fan of *Hozier* so I love that delightful trill I hear in her accent. I've been crocheting over 40 years but never made garments before. Only baby afghans. I'm being exposed to a whole new set of possibilities and I love it. And love this channel! ♥♥♥ **New subbie**
@@ceciliaschleicher278 I just keep holding it up to my body as I go to make sure I have the right measurement it can be tricky on different types of yarns even 4 ply
Thank you for wonderful patterns and tutorials. You are going to be a you tube star in the crochet world.. Could I please ask what size ( inches) your small/ med sweater is across chest arms etc. That's the only extra I would love to see, when you have pieces laid out,so can allocated correct size to someone who can't try it on as you go. Thanks again 👍
Happy New Year Carrie! First I would like to say thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful Crochet Turtleneck pattern! YES! I think its awesome! Also CAN you please tell me how MANY skeins of yarn I would NEED to make a large in this sweater or a XL? Once again, thank you so very much for sharing your ideas with your subscribers! I also thank you for being a very good and "Detailed" Instructor. Please KEEP them coming! And pray that God will continue to bless you with your entire family in the year of 2020!
Hi Bessie! You are the sweetest! Thank you very much. I would recommend you use about 800g for the large/xl size. It all really depends on how long you want the top to be. Wishing you all the best in 2020 x
Easy and great tutorial! Maybe you could have added what length in centimetres the pattern was. It ended up a little too short to my taste and shorter than your picture.
I followed this exact pattern, made the entire sweater... And when I tried it on I looked like a lumpy mess! So I undid all the sewing, took the top half of all the pieces apart, and improvised changes to make it fit more like a sweatshirt I like. Tl;dr if you've got a belly the simple rectangle pattern might not work for your body.
I'm really excited to make the project. How many stitches across would the small be after the first row of double crochet (as several stitches become one double crochet)? Do you crochet into the slip knot?
I am only just starting knitting/crocheting. I decide to start with the sleeves first and from 6:55 till 9:32 I did well. But when you end the row from 9:32 and had to go back to the increasing stitch, i go back to 8:10 till 9:32. I have done the now for about 8 rows and I notice that one side is quite straight and the other side is diagonal like --> / . However with more rows is get more adn more diagonal. The other side stays |. So right now my piece kind of looks like |___/ . When I compare it to the piece in 10:23 it is \__/. What am I doing wrong?
i just finished with the 26 rows of the back panel in size L. i'll be adding more rows since 26 rows is too short for me; the hem alined with the top of my hips leavesthe 26th row just touching the lowest point of my shoulder blades. I'll update until i'm finished with this sweater :)
Just finished the back panel with 35 rows in a new color. The first sweater I was working on,.. turned out I wouldn't have enough yarn, so I ordered 12 balls of yarn in one color and knitted the back panel in L (49 stitches and 35 rows) in 2 days. Somehow the 49 stitches in the new color is about 5 cm longer than the previous color... oh well, it'll be chunky AND oversized :) Going to start on the front panel now. This is very fun to do @Hey Carrie
The sowing took me a whole afternoon to do, mostly because my yarn kept fraying which left me with just the string and no fluff. I managed eventually. I ended up altering the neck before crocheting the turtle neck, because when I tried it on, it'd just slide over my shoulders. I wasn't sure if it'd be fixed by adding the turtle neck or not... so I added some stitches on the inside :). Just now I finished the turtle neck while watching a movie. Probably because I was watching a movie I had to take out a row or two every now and again because I came across a missing stitch lol. In the end I have a nice sweater that is a size to big for me but super nice, chunky and warm! I'll definitely be making this again, this time in an M and try the neck the original way. This was a very fun project, sometimes very challenging, but mostly very enjoyable!
Hey! I know this is an older video, but could you link the size table you used? I'm a bit bigger and sizes are always different for me from store to store
Hi. I love it. Congrats you explain it very well. How many centimetres or inches does the sweater has in the beginning for S and M? Thank you. Kisses from Portugal 🇵🇹 Cris
This pattern is so cozy looking! I want to use this pattern but dont know how much yarn to get for 2XL. You said you might've used 7 skeins for S. Need help thanks
I’m only on my 7th row following the front and back post 2 rows, and it’s looking much larger than yours, and I know I won’t be able to do 27 of this without it being ridiculously large! Your knitting does look tighter than mine. I don’t know what to do, maybe my wool is thicker than yours. Would you recommend just improvising the rest?
Anybody help please. I have counted the front and back panel rows to a tee and i have 26 on the back and 26 on rhe front including shoulders. Yet it is a crop top on me. What did i do wrong?

I'm using a slightly thinner yarn and a 7mm hook, do I need to do more stitches? I think so but if anyone can confirm...
What skiens needed for M size?
How much yarn will I need for a size XL?

Do you have an alternate yarn that can be used in case I can’t get this one in the states?
You could use Bernal Baby Blanket Yarn. It’s very similar to the yarn I used for this sweater
