The Cloven Hoof is my favorite bass fuzz that I've owned and for the most part that was reflected here. The Black Ash gives it a run for its money though, but all of them sound good. Great video!
Thanks man! The black ash has been a go to of mine for a while, really love the Cloven Hoof though, I did this shoot out mainly to show my friend Shawn the cloven on bass but figured I’d add some others! Thanks for watching!!
Yep, I've always been impressed by how well the Cloven Hoof does in these bass demos. From what I've heard, I would say my ideal pairing would be the Westwood for chunky grit with a Cloven Hoof for that bludgeoning roar.
That was awesome, thanks for sharing. Killer playing as well! To me the winner was obvious: Park Fuzz followed by the Cloven Hoof. Used to own a Cloven Hoof and it really sounded great on guitar as well.
@@WyattZelle I think the Park is one of our better fuzzes specifically for that reason actually, really nice midrange and clarity that I think is akin to an overdrive kind of. I’ve been planning on making a guitar version of this video, I’ll make sure to include more “in the mix” context also!!! Rock and roll!!!
man I was suprised by how much I liked the Park on bass, its been a fav of mine for guitar but i guess just how never thought to try it on bass! Cloven Hoof is actually what prompted this video, my dude shawn was looking for recommendations for bass dirt from EQD and I thought that at first, then figured I might as well throw some more in there for fun comparison!
Nice collection. Mine is similar, but sub a Terminal fuzz for the Gray Channel/Hoof/Park. I have all the others. Nothing like cranking a ton of sick fuzz pedals. Eruyptre is not a Fuzz Face thing though, more a cranked Big Muff. Either way, it's a sick vicious mess, in a good way. Black Ash is a treat.
Definitely fun as hell! So much epic Dirt sounds! And actually the fuzz section of the Erupter’s topology indeed is based on a Fuzz face circuit. The cloven hoof, hoof and Hizumitas are all big muff style circuits. Im not that great at just looking at a circuit and knowing what it is but I do work there and know this. I definitely can hear some big muffy kinda stuff with it though especially with a hi input level like I have on this Yamaha bass
I love the Hoof! I would of had my Hoofreaper in this shootout but I am lending it to a friend at the moment. Hoof circuit is definitely a staple for me! I love that Shift control!!
@@coreyharen24 They say first fuzz ever was on bass? Marty Robbins’ “Don’t Worry”-discovered during the session? Maybe it’s the low end really overloading the circuit (?), or else sorcery 🪄 🐝 🐝 😈🤘

@@coreyharen24 that black ash has the special sauce though I might have to save up for one

@@coreyharen24 how’s the midrange content of the park for guitar? Will it hold its own in band setting?

I often wonder if anything else sounds as good through a fuzz as an electric bass guitar does.🤔
Yea man it’s like the ideal experience haha
