I stopped going rescuers bc every time I did, someone else was going to rescue or I was literally on the other side of the map, somehow. I was also forced to adopt the decoder role since I'd lose pretty often if I don't kite first, which was annoying.

As a rescue main. God im often forced to be a mercoder in games with randoms, with my friends thankfully I get to do my job. Journalist I’m forced to be kiter with a tide turner… so yeah I’m using that child for body blocks and speed, but god if I don’t time it right im so dead 🫡

As a merc main, i always avoid being a decoder the whole time, only in some situations (the randoms i encounter either just keep supporting or steal my rescue ill just go "screw it imma decode"😭), most of the time i do rescues when im playing with my friends, or support mid game or before the last cipher is primed, i avoid getting downed a lot so it wont be difficult to heal or being healed (tbh his healing times is just omg...) ...
Anyways Naib is fun to main and play with..best kiter and rescuers even support sometimes for me :D

Being a rescuer is not easy haha I still main Anne but I barely have any chance of playing her because I always find myself being the rescuer of the team. And as I said before, people are gonna blame you for everything. Even when you cook. If something goes wrong for one or more of the survs, the rescuer usually takes all the heat. Since I cannot Merc (elbow pads are hard to pull off), I'm usually Alice or Martha but Martha I don't use with TT because she becomes a bit useless after using the gun. And her inherit interaction boost coupled with the speed boosts make her top.

@@SilminaIDV yep, exactly. I tend to not be harsh on rescuers ever. It's already super tasking. And almost no one likes to pick them because it's a huge responsibility. It's ok to botch rescues sometimes. Especially when the team expects you to do all the heavy work while they do just one thing. You kite, you decode, you rescue, and they think no one else should do a bit of all of the above. 🤓

If you feel good about rescuing , Anne is actually a really good rescuer, since she can use the glider to go to the chair faster and avoid hits on the way. Also u can place your catapults near the chaired survivor before you rescue so they use it to get more distance. I’m an Anne main with badge and I’m most of the time the only one carrying Tide. So don’t be discouraged to play her , she has a lot of potential for every role in one match!

I feel like idv itself puts survs in the wrong category, I main Emma and I usually bring tide with her and act as a rescuer, she super good at it though, she has her bubble which she can pull off a free rescue with and even body block with without taking damage, and lets say the hunter hits her before her bubble is up, well then its primed in case she is next chase. And yes chair breaking is risky, but it buys time or makes hunters chair farther away from ciphers. There are also characters that are good rescuers in certain situations like priestess and Anne who can avoid drop down hit when saving in basement!!! So idk if its just me but I find some non-rescue characters better than the actual rescue characters

Emma is not a rescuer. Yes, bubble helps, but her kit is not a rescuer type. Though yes, she's useful with Tide, many survs who are not rescuers are too, but it doesn't make them rescuers.

9:13 Which is why people have turned Coord into a Kiter instead since her gun can stun the hunter for a long time and waste the hunters time early game. They don't rescue much anymore just kite, or rather they're a last resort in case a teammate that IS a rescuer/teammate with Tide is unable to handle the Hunter harassing/preventing them from rescuing and can't make it which is why she got a movement speed buff when someone is on chair.

I am a main first officer and I can say that it is a headache when I play with him because of the problem that when someone is seated I say that I am coming but another superintendent is going and gives me no other alternative but keep decoding...
And what makes it more difficult to rescue is that it only has 2 watches and I can understand that a watch can be used 3 times but it is an easy target if you run out of watches
Although I got used to using the first officer to distance myself (which I don't recommend much)
And use the watches to make body block 🗿

I find that trying too hard to save shovels for the end usually backfires. Best thing to do is learn how to use the shovel! Take use of that speedy rescue after resurfacing. Pretty much no need to mind game rescues with it cause hunters can’t attack fast enough. And if shovels get used up from being first kite, I find it’s no harm to sell me if needed.

In rank) and mammoth 4 to tier 1, they somehow mess up pops? And since nobody else wanna bring tide i have to pull up 126 Luca and the rescuers are the decoders. Theres no doubt there are good rescuers out there, and i owe them a lot because they saved my ass countless times but really maybe some characters might be more suitable for kiting/assist than rescuers

A strong rescuer is someone able to rescue safely at 48% chair safely and after the rescue able to run away to avoid double down so they can continue decode. At the second rescue, they must able to support last chair person if cipher machine almost prime by using their skill to body block. An even better rescue would be able to rescue even if hunter have detention so you both can use tide tunner to run out of the gate. Mercenary fit all these scenarios so he is the perfect rescue.

A merc and prisoner main here, not only that hunters always chase decoders during early matches, hunters also avoid chasing rescuers as they are also kiters as their sub-role. Tho the reason why I became a merc was mainly because not a lot of ppl are picking as rescuer and not a lot of them are good at rescuing, so I played as merc when there is no rescuer in the team. There are times I did get kited by the hunter as merc but I ended up wasting an elbow pad once the hunter change targets in early matches 🥲
