Hi, I am making this apron in my sewing circle I go to on Tuesday mornings which is today. Just watched your video on the instructions and will be sewing this apron this morning.
I love Japanese aprons!! I bought two in 2019 on my trip there and I should have bought 6 !! I live in my apron all day …LOL . Since the pandemic, I am always in the kitchen. We rarely buy takeout now since prices went up and quality went down ☹️. I am going to make this version sometime this year ….going on the project list. Your tutorial is excellent 👍👍👍👍. My challenge will be finding fabric that I like in the thickness I would like . Our fabric options in stores are not nearly as nice as fabric options in Asia. I don’t like buying online as I can’t feel the fabric. Thank you for showing us how to sew this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
Beautiful apron but it looks like you may have to piece it if using 45” fabric with a printed design. I am wondering how much more fabric to buy. I saw really nice fabric yesterday, cute for a farm or kitchen theme but I’m almost positive it is the 44/45” width. I’m guessing another yard just in case. Has anyone done this?
You mitre-cut corners before you turn it inside out (like in your front pocket). That way your corners don't get bulky. Round pattern pieces get snipped before sewing.
I just finished this as my first sewing project and it turned out so great!! Any tip for hemming the curved parts though (like bottom hem and armholes)? 😁 Mine looks ok but it's a bit uneven and puckered 😅
I'm glad to hear your first sewing project turned out great! I have a video about "How to Hem a Curved Edge Neatly" that I recommend you refer to! ☺️ Alternatively, you can sew a very narrow hem!
A question: What is the enlargement percentage for the copy shop version of the pattern? Many thanks for making this available for free. Happy New Year.
@@SewingTherapy Hi! Just wanted to say think you again. I made this in an afternoon and gifted to my aunt for Christmas. She was so thankful and the pattern was perfect. With your video as help, even a beginner like me could make it. Thank you again and merry Christmas and happy holidays! 🌟🎄
Hallo Sara! Thank you for this apron tutorial. In the last pictures are you wearing a nice blouse /top under the apron in rost brown . Can I ask you which pattern you have used ? Locks so nice !
Thank you for watching! That dress is my modified Harper Tunic! I added oversized gathered sleeves on my Harper! Search for Harper Tunic and Oversized Sleeve Hack video on my channel! 😊
I am glad you asked this, my straps seemed thinner than Sara's. I thought maybe I needed to add seam allowance. It still works. Thank you Sara! "Sew" easy to follow along with you! LOL
Just finishing my 6th apron. Thank you so much for the tutorial
Glad to hear that! 😊😆
