Hi! Fellow SLP turned homeschooler here🙂 Great choices for your first year. We are doing Around the World in Picture Books too. I’m going to look at the Blossom and Root science. I’ve heard lots of people rave about it! Glad your year went well!

Ok except actually I have one more week and then it’s time to start kindergarten with the boys 😂 I do love TGTB language arts though.

@@HomeschoolwithRachel Yes i think so! They are ready to go and we need structure around this place! I’m not going to start my Sonlight stuff until closer to fall though!

I also came across prenda and totally considering it for our youngest. Thanks for sharing how you use it. Just subscribed. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling and it’s so fun to connect with likeminded homeschooling moms!

@@HomeschoolwithRachel we’ll see if I get to it since we already have another reading program. Not sure if I have the time to be stretched to do prenda as well.

Did your son ever get to finish Treasure Hunt Reading? I would love to see sn update. I was intrigued with whst I read on their website that if the kid master the journeys, the kid would be at a 3-4 grade reading level.

We finished a bit of Journey 2 during his kindergarten year, but chose not to continue it during his 1st grade year because he made such good progress over the summer with readers. It’s a great program though! I would definitely continue with it again if he began to struggle with phonics concepts. There just isn’t enough time in the day to do all the curriculum 😅
