@@tsunamie1015 it’s not the art style necessarily, otherwise games like breath of the wild would be unplayable on a switch. It’s the lack of basic optimization. Ive noticed from watching videos that for some reason the game renders entire cave systems even if you aren’t even close to its entrance. That is a massive amount of polygons to be constantly rendering and never be seen. DID YOU KNOW: Pokemon Scarlet's Naranja Academy and Pokemon Violet's Uva Academy are actually Spanish for orange and grape (respectively), which are the sigils for each school!
In this Pokemon game, RT decides not to gather God(s), shiny wooloos or fodder creatures; instead he decides to just get everything on his shopping list.
So I picked sprigatito. Some interesting things from my playthrough I didn't realize that the tape didn't hold because I was too busy looking at how deep the main city's walls go below ground during the evolution animation (that clipped the camera into the ground) I chose to do the level 30 water gym first out of everything. The game wants you to do the dark type team star base first because they block the main path to the city (assuming you didn't go all the way around the region). I skipped the blockade by jumping off the cliff it was on. I did the crab titan right beforeI saw you go to it. It was an OHKO, because it's definitely scaled for you to do it as one of the first things, not after the water gym
The fact that you can go straight to the final gym at pretty much around the start of the game shows that despite the performance issues, that this game is really going to be great! Lettuce shall conquer all!
Ehh, it's okay. Great is a stretch. Maybe with a couple months of patching it'll be closer. The cities feel extremely empty too though. There's only the gym and then a bunch of duplicate shops in every city.
It's pointless though, because if you grind up enough to actually beat it then you've just killed the fun for every other gym. And it isn't like you can use high level caught pokemon, you've got to get gym badges like usual to use caught ones above level 20.
@𓂸 why is a game being made in unity a bad thing? Some great and gorgeous games were made using it. Gotta admit, my standards for pokemon writing are sooo low, that when it showed Arven is hiding something after the Klawf battle, I said "CHARACTER DEPTH????"
Yeeeah, besides the Mystery Dungeon games (which were made by Chunsoft and then Spike Chunsoft, who have more of a background in story-driven games in the first place) the Pokemon games have never really risen above mediocre writing.
If I had a nickel for every game RT has played where the main character actively goes to school while basically saving the world, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right? Who knows, we might see a Johnny Anime and Lettuce crossover where they'll use the power of sandwiches to finally make Daneshiro have a change of heart.
Ok, eating pokemon is cannon, lettuce got a sandwich with meat. Now I know that people are capturing pokemon to force them into fights and eat them. It’s even worse than the real world
Arven's story makes me wanna cry from a pokemon game for once. I recently lost my dog Benzi back in june (June 22nd) and i really wanted to help him heal but in the end i couldn't do anything to help him. i was truly devastated when he passed, and even now just writing this out i feel like i wanna cry. i honestly wish the herbs existed in real life just so i could see him one more time. enough depression more drift king and lettuce!
I honestly loved the main storylines in these games, I understand the games are jank and some bits don't look great, sure i wish they had more time, but what we got wasn't bad honestly. I've seen lots of people talk about the games in a negative way, it's a shame they didn't have longer but the stories weren't bad, the typical gym stories were good, the team star was good kinda fucked with me given my own similar experiences with bullying and such, and the arven story line just broke my heart at every step. Maybe I'm easy to please but despite the many shortcomings I think these are some of the better games of the series. Anyway thanks for coming to my TedTalk, I just wanted to put some positive words in for the game amidst other negative things I've seen.
@Lazarus I'm right along with you on this, i loved the storylines, and really liked team star, likely because of my own experiences with bullying. I feel like people aren't giving this game enough credit- and those who expected it to be completely flawless were deluding themselves. I do wish we could fight the elete 4 again, but i still love what we have. I loved this game and fully plan on playing it again some day, even with its flaws.
if i had a nickel for every time a streamer i enjoy gave their pokémon scarlet / violet character a green bowl cut, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

BUT the freaking memes that are going to come of that, it will be larger than the Shit Volcano explosion. (The framerate thing)
Stuff like grass and trees as well do not have good LODs and clearly overall they didn’t have time to finish their rendering systems.
@@travisdickens4304 three releases a year will do that
@@travisdickens4304 Was just saying that, even just comparing it to Legends Arceus they want the game to look better and tbf in some areas is does. But as one can see from the ground textures, tree models, animations and lighting they're aiming for far more than the switch can handle.
BotW was more optimised, yes, but it was also far more stylised. Scarlet/Violet are now some sad amalgamation of ambition and Switch restrictions.
I hope that they're able to fix the issues you mentioned and manage of optimise the game more. That said, even if it ran at 60 fps it wouldn't particularly looks good.
"Lettuce? Lettuce!?"
"It's a vegetable, Cookie. The men need their four basic food groups"

@@rub_y It's just that you're not used to getting likes, so you can't relate when someone else gets them. lol A number of likes doesn't equate to someone being a bot. Your logic is scuffed, like the glitches in this game.
@@ReptilianTeaDrinker bro i could care less about how much likes a comment has. i was literally just pointing out that it was kinda strange that comment has so many likes because similar comments to that one usually never get any likes.
@@rub_y Haha lol, you think.
The fact that they might actually be merch originated from Daniel's imaginary conversation with Iono is both the funniest and scariest thing there is.
Apparently Koriadon is more common then the 3rd gym badge this playthrough
I'm pretty sure the main point of Iono terastalizing her mismagius into an electric type was that mismagius has levitate so it has no weaknesses.
As a British person, the lettuce and Prime Minister talk at the beginning got me really good 😂😂😂😂
Edit: the fact that this has so many likes is kind of worrying. If it makes you guys feel better my friend has a Rellor that they’ve named Tory.

I love Iono but I really do think she's a representation of exactly what nintendo thinks streamers are and are like which is concerning, also naming yourself Lettuce was peak comedy
I could understand if they made an exaggerated portrayal of an internet celebrity but she's just a normal person outside the cameras
I think that the problem might be that the developers main exposure to these types of people might be vtubers and idols which are already exaggerated portrayals
@@airplanes_aren.t_real given her placement on the screen is incredibly v-tuber reminiscent during her gym test, I'm thinking that the v-tuber angle is 100% what they were going for and basing her off of. Just like, a real person cosplay instead of outright v-tuber.
@@s.colins2050 yeah but they don't realize that most vtubers aren't that appealing to most people and cater to a specific audience, it would be completely fine if they did some vague influencer character with an ark or an interesting personality but she just seems to embody all the annoying aspects of vtubing, she's overdramatic, her design isn't good, her humor is mid and her fans are trash

I love how in both this and persona as soon as someone hacks into his phone, he just repeatedly asks "who are you?".
36:57 you know RT's taking psychic damage when the accent starts getting stronger and the Irishman can no longer be contained
This was great to watch live and see chat slowly descend into madness as RT refused to get gym badges lmao
I mean if it works, it works
Forget your knees, being stopped that suddenly by your phone would destroy your arms.
the force at which your shoulders would dislocate... eek
DID YOU KNOW:
Pokemon Scarlet's Naranja Academy and Pokemon Violet's Uva Academy are actually Spanish for orange and grape (respectively), which are the sigils for each school!
In this Pokemon game, RT decides not to gather God(s), shiny wooloos or fodder creatures; instead he decides to just get everything on his shopping list.
I loved it when RTGame said " let us lettuce" and lettuced all over everything
Nemona says "Let us have a fruitful battle", but Dan says "Let us lettuce".

RT going full Irish from the breakdown upon seeing the E-girl is amazinf
So I picked sprigatito. Some interesting things from my playthrough
I didn't realize that the tape didn't hold because I was too busy looking at how deep the main city's walls go below ground during the evolution animation (that clipped the camera into the ground)
I chose to do the level 30 water gym first out of everything.
Glad to see Lettuce is still getting work after Tokyo Mew Mew
I see clawell isn't the only grown ass adult impersonating a teenager
had the same exact thought
@𓂸 Genwunner
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 How does that make him unintelligent? Literally everything he said is true.
@𓂸 why is a game being made in unity a bad thing? Some great and gorgeous games were made using it. I think you should legends arceus a bit more credit, it completely changed up and revitalized the game mechanics. Plenty of people absolutely loved the game, even if it’s ugly as hell and doesn’t have great environments
I'm so glad that crowds singing cheers at gym matched has become a consistent aesthetic choice.
You cannot make a video and expect me not to immediately watch it the second I see it, RT. You can't escape.
When cowbell came by and said he was responsible for any failure, I thought he was straight up calling lettuce a failure
Borris is temporary, lettuce is forever
Gotta admit, my standards for pokemon writing are sooo low, that when it showed Arven is hiding something after the Klawf battle, I said "CHARACTER DEPTH????"
Seriously. People are saying the story is good, but seeing all the Team Star dialogue just reminded me of bad gen z tropes.
I thought Arven was going to have a villain arc at first ngl
@@rico9374 Giacomo pisses me off to no end solely because gamefreak ripped off Grimsley's hair.
@@baronsionis6855 they could be related or smth

I honestly want him to play psychonauts after persona 5
You're just a criminal who makes sandwiches for money!!!
Don't forget he gets contacted via text by a mysterious person using a Egyptian related name.
@@ThatPearlKid honestly, that’s basically the first thing I was reminded of when Cassiopeia happened
Arven has the best arguments for doing his quests. "There will be sandwich." I’m in homie, say no more.
Ok, eating pokemon is cannon, lettuce got a sandwich with meat. Now I know that people are capturing pokemon to force them into fights and eat them. It’s even worse than the real world
Oh yeah def beacause it's canon poeople have basically human level of intelligence and sentience
i think in the second episode they cook up a magicarp and tarous ranches exist despite them not producing products meaning the meat is the product
When you can’t even go vegetarian or vegan because plant type Pokémon exist
It's been canon my dude
It was canon since gen 1, magikarp and slowpoke. There's been more over the years like barraskeuda and others but they're mostly fish pokemon.
I appreciate how immediately likeable the rivals in this game are, in stark contrast to Hop.
if i had a nickel for every time a streamer i enjoy gave their pokémon scarlet / violet character a green bowl cut, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.
Lemme guess, saltydkdan?

I love the terror in RT's voice when he says "NO SHE'S VLOGGING!"
I love how your "friend" I'm the pokemon series normally picks the Pokemon that beats your type. Instead in this one they pick the one you beat, just to spite Quacksley
It'd be hilarious if they still refused to pick quaxly even if you picked the weed cat
Man, look at Fuecoco, not a single thought going on in that head
RT, Terastalizing your pokemon into a new type doesn't remove the STAB on their old type. The new mechanic is insane

@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 I can’t tell if you’re stupid or this is just a bad joke
RT’s video has taught me one thing: I didn’t have to go all the way to the swamp to get Grace the Flamigo.
In that first cinematic of you flying over the island you can see the grass and trees rendering as you get close to them
I dont know why but seeing the students lagging is making me laugh histerically
it's hilarious that he did the streamer gym first by complete chance
i heckin love these longer videos. it's like watching a movie and i just kick back and relax
RTgame accidentally making foo fighters from jojo when making his character is hilarious

I love how similar Dan's character is to Derek's in the new friendlocke series. The stars have aligned
After that first lettuce pun, I just know this video will be good
i love how dan is so worked up about iono that he gets new merch ideas
This stream convinced me to get the game on a whim. No-lifed it and now I'm finished in time for the end of the weekend, left feeling a bit hollowed out. Game could do with some more time in the oven, to put it mildly, but the experience is decent all in all. Maaaaybe wait for a few weeks to see if performance gets patched.
It's quite poetic that RT fought the streamer gym as his first
You can tell RT's actually genuinely offended by Iono by the way his irish accent comes out in full force at 36:58
I'm amazed and entertained how RT is capable of making everything he plays cursed in some way
I like the freedom to choose your own path in this game, coupled with the overworld encounters and big/small Pokemon size mechanics is pretty neat. Can’t wait to see the next highlight video.
"There's no time! There's no time!" This is totally accurate in production 😭
As a Quaxly fan this video has put me into cardiac arrest
Iono is cringe as hell but she ABSOLUTELY reminds me of the "minecraft youtuber" channels that grew fast and died hard, those people that just over edit and put on too much of a character voice ect ect ect i love her for it LOL the writers for her knew exactly what they were doing
RTs range at the streamer trainer was palpable. I felt it in my bones.
Qwaxley is like your younger brother who has a secret he doesn't really tell anyone until he is level 35.
This was one of they few streams I’ve been able to catch live and it was truly legendary to see Dan decide that the mountain was the only option and objective
I was gonna comment on how Lettuce looks like Phosphophyllite from Land of the Lustrous and then I remembered that Ichikawa, the creator of the series, actually worked on this game
