  • This curb find held a secret. A rusty motor. I can replace the bearings but will the motor run properly? Stay tuned for the follow up video.

I have a similar Bissell I just got for free and tore it down, it also has awful bearings. Have you seen a Bissell motor that's even less serviceable than the one in this video? The fan housing seems rolled over the edge, and the brushes seem permanently wired to the field (eg the coil wire is crimped into the brush connector). Maybe I'm missing something though, was there a connector for the brushes that was easily removed?

I will also add, i apoligize for how long this comment might be, but when you put the motor back together, put the armature back into the housing, make sure the ring is sitting under it. Then when you put the metal plate on the top where the fan is and screw it down, Tap the part where the nut would screw on, The thread piece, tap it until it doesn't get any easier to spin. I just woke up, so i did my best to make this make sense. Hope it helps ;)

Why do you somehow believe I need guidance re-assembling a very simple motor? 🤣
