Nick Morton is a soldier of fortune who plunders ancient sites for timeless artifacts and sells them to the highest bidder. When Nick and his partner come under attack in the Middle East, the ensuing battle accidentally unearths Ahmanet, a betrayed Egyptian princess who was entombed under the desert for thousands of years. A friend and i started watching this film on Netflix out of boredom and a joke, we didn't exepect much from it. When Russel came on scene and introduced himself as Dr. Jekyll, we both looked at each other in awe and was like wowsers, the presence of Dr. Jekyll instantly made the film more intriguing because Russel's character introduction was so sudden and out of nowhere.

If only Netflix, Stan or Amazon would make that happen.
I know that the Movie wasn't perfect.
But the idea that Mr Hyde is essentially a disease of pure Evil, was a very interesting take on the topic of Dr Jeckyl.

Cure Starlight no me too, he's the only reason I watched the film. There will probably be a solo film too. Hopefully they'll explore his origin rather than forcing his character plot and they'll actually give J+H the fleshing out they deserve

And I think RC put a lot more effort into his character than TC. Cruise tried a little too hard, making his character kinda cheesy. Crowe had some cheesy scenes too, but I think he did a great job overall

They could have made this more like SCP kind of situation, instead of a forced cinematic universe set up. This movie had so much potential, and could have been something really different, if they had focused more on Prodigium and just dived deeper into the lore. The problem is that tried to be a Mummy movie, when it could have been it's own thing. If you want to set up a cinematic universe with monsters as the focus, then go all the way instead of limiting it's potential to a "one monster per movie prior to a team up movie" formula.
Imagine an SCP movie. Holly shit I'd pay for that!
They should've made it more secret and slowly built it up over the course of this series, that's why the MonsterVerse is working well with Monarch.
I would kill for an SCP movie. There is so much material to go with. The game itself would work amazingly as a storyline.
Maybe follow it from different perspectives throughout the movie, like: D-class, scientists and MTF. Would be awesome to see an SCP movie.
That's the same thing that I thought of when I first saw it. The mummy's goal and ancient history has potential including the movie. However, the story made it about more than one monster, which divided the idea into different directions. During all that, it was confusing, and less intriguing.
Jekyll was supposed to get his own movie.
I imagine it would've been about a younger version of him and how he became a monster.
That, or about the beginning of his Company.

I have got the idea that Professor Abraham Van Helsing along side with Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray founded Prodigium after their encounter with Drácula and realize that the vampire wasnt the only monster on Earth. And met Henry Jekyll and help him to make his serum and gave him the leadership in order to seek the redemption...

1:04 the way he says "For Chaos" while slightly transforming into Hyde kinda looks a Knight of Sigmar being corrupted into Chaos Knight from Warhammer.

That moment when Russel Crowe was the only good part about the movie.
Unfortunately, this is what happens when a movie studio puts the cart before the horse. Instead of putting their energy into making sure that The Mummy was a good film, they advertised about "The Dark Universe" and the stars headlining them. Now children, the lesson of this story is this: when you fail to plan, you plan to fail. 🙁

This is the one book I enjoyed in school so I’ve always loved this story and I’m glad that Jekyll and Hyde have a pretty good portrayal in this.
This film was the first time ever that Tom Cruise & Russell Crowe were in a movie together. Almost too bad that it had to be this one.

I honestly HATE that they remade the old mummy with a burning passion. But I only went to see this one cuz it had Russell Crowe in it. And I honestly think he did a much better acting job than Cruise. "And the business...being?" Omg, he put way to much effort into saying that one sentence.
That's just ONE of my reasons why Tom acts.....weird. Idk how to put it without stepping on any toes. And don't worry about my TC profile pic. I'll be changing that soon lol

Dracula untold was a great movie! I think that’s because they focus on building an emotional origin story. The end of that movie left so many people wanting more. If they kept a similar formula and didn’t wait so long between movies the new monster universe would have worked well. The other way is could have worked is if they added monsters to every new movie, for example have Dracula show up in this one and be the guide for Tom hanks through his ordeal, the introduce Hyde at the end so the next movie can dive into Hyde’s character and the backstory of the organization.

I bet it's cuz usually they get an actor double to portray the hands/limbs of the bigger actors. Cuz they would have to pay the bigger actors even for little things like their hands typing or writing something cuz it takes up the bigger actor's time (its true-I'm serious). So if they got Crowe to do it, they were like, "well we're payin u for this, so get your face in there" or maybe Crowe wanted more screen time since they were using his time already for his hand. Or maybe I'm overthinking this and Crowe was just ridiculously close to the door
