    I once came upon a baby duck ! I was able to stop my car, but the little guy would run to hide under the opposite side... a kind lady pulled up behind me, and between us we were able to save the baby duck... I drove home, gathered my young daughters, and we drove to the nearby park, big lake with other ducks, and set him free. 😊😊😊😊😊😊

    I realized today as I put your video on while getting cozy in bed, that I’ve been watching your videos for 8 years now. It’s my birthday, and I remembered the time I got ink pens for the first time and jumped to RUclips to look at videos and found yours and have been watching since. You truely have shaped my personal art style, and in a way, me as a person. Thank you for always staying unapologetically you. ❤️

It lived at the end of the block and I'd see it nearly everyday for four years. Then the family moved...I missed that chicken. She was so smart. 😊🐓 Loved the video, new subscriber from Texas 🤠👍🏻

    Oh, the memories of mechanical pencil days at college. Yes, Peter, I always changed my little erasers in them. Memorabilia of "drawing" my math homework out so neatly - which made me love math in the end instead of hate it? I concure the drawback of no wood scent on those pencils? I just got the Mercedes set of colored pencils, and oh, the wafting of pencil wood coming from that box...lols. ~❤~
    Edits to suggest check out drafting supply stores for that pencil lead? I can assure you it is the type that can be sharpened in their special sharpeners that I recall you did show on one of your videos?

    These doodles are talking to me. It's in doodle language, but I think they're saying "don't be afraid, go ahead!"
    Now, given that somewhere in that big wide infinite (or not) mysterious flabbergasting beautiful universe, among other happenings, parades are being rained on. So let me say that for me the big question is "Why didn't Peter stop right there and then to carry the fuzzy caterpillar to the other side of the road (or to whatever caterpillar-adequate environment)? I do that with slugs stranded in the middle of a dry, dead desert of asphalt, and it makes me feel good...

    • @peter_draws
      @peter_draws  18 дней назад +1

      Well I think the fuzzy caterpillars here are different, but there were very similar ones in the Philippines we called itchy caterpillars, they would make you so itchy wherever they touched you, so I guess I just leave these alone since they look the same

    That time I absolutely HAD to have a full brass 2mil and wasn't gonna pay a billion squid to some kickstarter, I used this pencil's guts, a brass tube and an Ebay pencil kit. They're called OHTO Sharp Pencil 2.0 APS-680E and cost about 8 bucks in my country. If ever there was a pencil that channels the user, I'd say it was the 2mm.

    Have you done a video yet with the super over-hyped Blackwing pencils? For a while there, I was getting bombarded on the internet with how great these Blackwing pencils are. "The best pencils ever made, etc." And I bought some. They're fine. They're just regular wood pencils with a rectangular eraser. They were kinda on the expensive side, but they sold me because they said they donate some of their profits to school music programs. And band nerd that I was, I can get behind that.

    • @peter_draws

    i was poking a 'pseudoscorpion' (a little harmless bug) and it went and hide itself behind its big arms and after a few seconds it looked around to see if it was safe and its in moments like that when i look at tiny bugs doing "human" stuff i also try to imagine how they see the world. like a fruitfly trying to get water out of its wings after i saved it from a glass of water or a hungry house fly that just want one last bite before i can make it fly away, its kinda cute x3. im thinking they are smart for their size but they cant see that far or are just blind and so they live in their own world ig.

    Hullo Peter, This is a sweet drawing video, Thanks! I have never limited myself with any mechanical pencils included "leads" I buy an assortment of weights or graphite density. You should have an assortment of F or H all the way to a higher rated B, such as 8B! Some people want to have an assortment of H's as well. I am surprised you do not already have a wide selection of 2mm lead choices. I have quite few choices for my Staedtler Mars Technico 780C Mechanical Lead holders. I hope you continue to create and share your videos with us. I would love to see some more colorizations of your line drawings, any chances of that? Well so good to see your videos take care and be well out there!

  • @pnak0tic
    @pnak0tic 12 дней назад

    I have yet to find a 2mm lead that feels good. I have some pretty cool rOtring 2mm mechanical pencils that I end up never using because the leads are too hard for my taste. I have tried a couple different brands and they all have that same feeling, I think it might be something related to the structural integrity of these bigger leads that force manufacturers to use more binder or something like that.

    *10 Speed Doodles and a Fuzzy Caterpillar: A Journey into Art and Existential Questions*
    * *0:02** Unboxing Mishap:* Peter introduces a large, wooden mechanical pencil but reveals he accidentally didn't record the unboxing. He encourages viewers to imagine the unboxing experience. [From Comments] Some viewers found this amusing and appreciated the opportunity to imagine the unboxing.
    * *0:54** Pencil Features:* The pencil boasts a substantial wooden body, a thick 2mm lead, and a large eraser. Peter expresses a preference for softer lead for richer lines.
    * *3:52** Drawing Philosophy:* Peter explains his approach to the 10 quick drawings, focusing on instinctual lines and letting his hand move faster than his conscious thought. He believes this helps him discover new ideas and progress more quickly.
    * *9:14** The Fuzzy Caterpillar Conundrum:* Peter recounts his experience of swerving to avoid a fuzzy caterpillar crossing the road. This sparks a philosophical discussion about the caterpillar's awareness and decision-making process. [From Comments] Some viewers humorously suggested the caterpillar met a less fortunate fate.
    * *11:25** Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?:* Peter links his caterpillar observation to the classic "chicken crossing the road" joke, pondering its potential origins as a genuine philosophical question about animal motivation.
    * *13:12** Existential Questions:* Peter expands his contemplation to consider whether higher beings might be observing humanity with similar questions about our awareness and choices, drawing parallels to his observation of the caterpillar. [From Comments] Viewers joined in on the existential discussion, questioning pre-programmed behavior in nature.
    * *14:14** The Value of Scribbling:* Peter emphasizes the importance of enjoying the process of creation and not being overly critical of quick, less polished work. He finds value in these “scribbles” for generating new ideas and finding joy in the act of drawing. [From Comments] Viewers agreed with this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the process.

    hey peter, unfortunately there's no (at least, intended) philosophical message with the "why did the chicken cross the road" joke. It's just a colloquial reminder of white supremacy in our culture. Specifically that joke and other similar ones were written and performed by white people in racist blackface minstrel shows in the mid 1800s throughout the U.S.. It is nice to wonder questions about how chickens and furry caterpillars think and process their world, especially since the dehumanization of people comes directly from dehumanizing animals and non-human persons or places. Also I think you'd be inspired by some afrofuturist images, so I'd recommend checking out Nick Cave or Mshindo Kuumba
