Most anthems are fairly forgettable and bombastic, but the Ukrainian one is unforgettable. Moving at any time, but in these dark days it sounds throughout the free world as a sign of solidarity with a country under attack from its aggressive neighbour. Slava Ukraini!
@Charles Rae _"...the Ukrainian one is unforgettable..."_ ókrainian anthem is unforgettable, because in the name of that ókraine, 200 thousand poles (mostly women and children) were brutally murdered in Volhynia. And it's not an aggressive neighbour's attack. It's Karma's comeback.
@@jaremaw2368 Let's now recall how many Ukrainians were killed by poles during Ukranian liberation war 1648-1652 by the person whose name you took for you accaunt. So poles just had their karma as well.
@@Aneldarx Yeah, let’s recall, *how many?* Ókrainians? There was no ókrainians back then, but Ruthenians and Wiśniowiecki was a Ruthenian himself, duh! „Liberation war”? Hahaha! I don’t have that much time. 😂

I watched the programme on French tv that night, and when the orchestra started playing the national anthem of Ukraine, I realized it was the first time I was properly (as in hearing the full anthem I mean - and with the lyrics, not just instrumental) hearing it. It was beautiful and powerful. When the song ended it had left a strong impression on me, I was deeply moved. I felt the urge to look for the lyrics, to understand their meaning, and knowing what the lyrics are saying made me feel a huge respect towards Ukrainian people. And you, because I cannot even imagine all the things you might have been feeling when you were singing it. If some Ukrainian people watched your performance I hope that it warmed their heart, and gave them some comfort. Hearing the beautiful rendition of the Ode to joy, the European anthem, right after, made for a wonderful association. Thank you, thank you Andrei Bondarenko for this splendid interpretation, and for introducing part of Ukrainian culture to me. I definitely intend to delve more into Ukraine's History and its culture. As a French citizen, a European citizen, I understand that Ukrainian people are fighting with their lives not only for their country, but to defend freedom, and democracy, Europeans values. The EU owes Ukraine a lot. I hope this war stops, that no more civilians get killed, and that your country will rise again and shine. Vive l'Ukraine ! 🇺🇦
When History is written, it will be said that this is the first anthem in the 21st century that united a world who value peace and freedom. May the merciful God of all creation keep the brave people and President of Ukraine strong and safe. 🙏🇺🇦❤️🇵🇭
What a remarkable and moving performance! I have been so grieved and moved by the unspeakable tragedy in Ukraine and the fortitude and inspiration of Ukrainians that I learned to sing Shche Ne Vmerla Ukrainy. The lyrics are awe inspiring and exceedingly powerful. I understand that Mr. Bondarenko was trained in Kyiv. I could only imagine how Mr. Bondarenko felt when he sang the anthem. I hope one day I can see him perform. Glory to Ukraine! Much love from Vancouver, B. C., Canada.
Beautiful!!! I would love to hear Ukrainian Classical Music performed by your great orchestra. They have more than 50 symphonies by various composers, hundreds of chamber and choir works. That would show the real support of Ukrainian beautiful culture. Composers like: Silvestrov, Stankovych, Lysenko, Revutsky, Lyatoshinsky, Kolessa, Skoryk...only few of many.
Yes beautiful and very moving anthem. I wish EU could do more for the courageous and dignified Ukrainian people. My prayers for liberty, peace and victory goes to them 🇺🇦🇫🇷🇺🇦🇫🇷🇺🇦🇫🇷🇺🇦 Thank you for the tips re Ukrainian musicians
Oh my... no wonder the Ukrainians are fighting with such determination and irrepressible courage. That is such a deeply moving anthem. Putin has made a dreadful mistake if he thinks he can subdue the Ukrainian people.
The tenor was overwhelmed with emotion, yet he didn't cry. But I cried ! Yet somehow looking at him, I believe a nation made of people like him is a great one and it will pull through this crisis. We salute you, Ukraine, for your great courage. With all respect. From Vietnam. 🇺🇦🇻🇳

Ukraine is not yet dead, nor it's glory and freedom, Luck will still smile on us brother-Ukrainians. Our enemies will die, as the dew does in the sunshine, And we, too, brothers, we'll live happily in our land.
We'll not spare either our souls or bodies to get freedom And we'll prove that we brothers are of Kozak kin.
We'll rise up, brothers, all of us, from the San to the Don, We won't let anyone govern in out motherland. The Black Sea will smile yet, grandfather Dnipro will rejoice, Yet in our Ukraine luck will be high.
We'll not spare either our souls or bodies to get freedom And we'll prove that we brothers are of Kozak kin.
Our persistence, our sincere toil will prove it's rightness, Still our freedom's loud song will spread throughout Ukraine. It'll reflect upon the Carpathians, will sound through the steppes, And Ukraine's glory will arise among the people.
We'll not spare either our souls or bodies to get freedom And we'll prove that we brothers are of Kozak kin.
