** DISCLAIMER- I MENTIONED SALATUL TASBEEH IN THIS VIDEO AS I LEARNED IT AS A NEW MUSLIM FROM THE BOOKS OF HADITH IN ABU DAWOOD. I WOULD LATER COME TO FIND OUT THIS HADITH IS WEAK OR EVEN POSSIBLY FABRICATED SO STOPPED DOING SALATUL TASBEEH AND IT SHOULD NOT BE PERFORMED!!
I should have mentioned this in the episode but I want all of these prison tapes videos to be raw an first take productions so I missed mentioning that.
    May Allah bless you all.

I went through almost the same situation except I actually did 20 years in Alabama prison system. It really makes a man appreciate those books. Allah uses prison to make good men. Also I too was the only white Muslim most of the time. I actually met two more through out the years but one I know was only seeking. Alhamdulillah my brother!

SubHannaLah I was bound over as an adult when I was 15 in 1997 in Michigan and served 11 years in adult prison, do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars, no juvenile just straight to a level 4 yard. I studied Islam there and the Muslims there were some of the very best people that I had met, unfortunately they mostly all were doing terms of 20 plus years. I took my Shahaddah last week. Thank you for opening up about this. It took me another 12 plus years to overcome my institutionalization that I wasn't fully aware was even there. There is no Muslims where I live in Ohio and I learned to read and write Arabic memorized some surah and read a bunch of books when I was in there. I'm 42 now and I was absolutely FLOORED that everything I thought I forgotten our Merciful Lord made me remember it all. I couldn't tell you what I had for lunch yesterday akhi but wallahi ta ala He gave me my little knowledge back and inshallah every day and night I will learn more about the Deen. Jazakullah Khair

Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him.

I didn't take my shahadah until after my release when my good friend and father started giving me dawah. Alhamdulillah! Brother some may judge our path but Allah SWT calls whom he wills. So happy you shared this!

I find it strange that someone would tell you to leave that out and say it’s not significant when it’s literally the foundation of your start to being a Muslim. Your revert story has always been one of my favorites since I reverted and it’s amazing how there’s a whole deeper part to it that we never got to hear. SubhanAllah I loved this.

    • @b_g2017
      @b_g2017 2 года назад +7

I completely understand why he or anyone would leave that out in the beginning, there are a lot of very judgmental people, even Muslim. Our past should in no way determine who we are today in terms of good or bad but some people don’t yet understand the power of Allah on the human soul. Transformation is the product of our faith in Him. So ten years ago I could have been the worst of people yet today I could be among the best. You I perceive are not a judgmental person and for that I say alhamdulillah

Thanks a lot brother Yusha for the inspiring story. I have already listened to the previous Reflections series of podcasts and it was incredible. Your prison experience is a genuine trial especially for a new 18 year old Muslim revert and I'm sure it is relevant to many people. I'm sure you know that Malcolm X was introduced to Islam in prison, so jail time could be a chance for a lot of people to find the right path. Anyways, brother keep up these great inspiring episodes, we are already learning so much from your personal experience and growth and we appreciate it immensely. I got a question (more of a suggestion maybe), have you ever considered making a film based on these podcasts (after you finish the whole Reflections and The Prison Tapes series of course)? I mean the story of your life is so interesting I'm sure it will make a great movie provided you find a talented script writer.

Jazak Allahu Khayr for the beautiful intro humanizing oneself and hence same to the audience creating that communication where both you can reflect as well as the audience on our areas where we can improve.
19 : 00 Masha Allah, Abdul Hadi the imam gave him book Prophet's prayer as you see him like Sh. Albani, Fortress of the Muslim, Thalath Usul 3 questions of the grave and was always reading, so he worked on library to get books, as there were many lines so he read there.
there was alot of brotherhood in prison and they had alot of sway...never missed a salat, including duha... witr.
salatul tasbih is weak i think though...
he said this grounded him and his soul and mind was free.
    khawid was his roomate.
prison system in this life, but this life is a prison and Islam si the answer.
our loyalty and honor is in Islam, and won't help you on judgement day.
    Turn back to Allah.
this dunya isn't worth it... and thats what thug lyfe is.
28:00 - recall the story of Prophet Yusef or ibn Taymiyyah or imam ibn Hanbal... they all went to prison.
yusha is trying to help many types of Muslims going through things, to help us all make it.
sometimes he like bluntness in brother and sisterhood.
i also agree but also think we should incl. hadith Muadh Jabal sent to ahlul kitab, sometimes you need to warm ppl up too...
    bro makes dua.
Wa Aleikum Salamw a Rahmatulah wa Baraktuh!

It was a correct advice not to divulge everything about oneself until situation permits… some of the things happened in our life and Allah shields from others for a reason… the timing is now perfect to share as advice to youngsters…. Wallahualam

This brother is really fortunate that how Allah subhanwatallah made things fit to him to learn deen , to become firm in faith, to use him him for his deen. soon he became Muslim, prison was waiting for him to shape him up. Maybe he would have been lost if not imprisoned. That is how Allah Subhanawatallah saved him many times to take work from him. BROTHER KEEP FIRM FAITH IN ALLAH SUBHANWATALLAH AND DONT FORGET HIS FAVOURS . THANK HIM WHEN YOU ARE GIVEN FAVOURS AND BE PATIENT WHEN YOU ARE TRIED. STICK TO THE PATH OF OUR RIGHETEOUS PREDECESSORS.
i believe he has a good understanding of deen, which usually new Muslims struggle with, and has the correct guidance like salafi dawah and their literature with Allahs grace. many great scholars of Islam were imprisoned and they did lot of service in prosion than outside. these are the ways and means of Allah subhanwatallah and He knows the best. ALL PRAISES ARE FOR HIM ALONE

So glad that brother’s life transformed for the best, and that Allah’s Peace has brought your honest soul to Islam. May you continue prospering in all ways, in this world and the next, and your family, too, In’sha’Allah.
MashaAllah, one of a kind speaker, too.🤲🏿🌴 May Allah bless the kind grandmother who raised you.

    Nor iron bars a cage-
    Minds innocent and quiet take
    That for an hermitage.”

Masha Allah🤲 Sometimes we think, friends, family, acquaintances, from high society is always better for a good status to have succes in life. But you have proven it doesn't have to be only, that way. Every creation of ALLAH SUBHAN-U TALLAH has an example with a teaching in it, '' The nutrients (ingredients) required for the growth of the most beautiful flowers also come from dredging water".

Salam alaikum. Alhumdulilah. Barakalafi ahki. I just got out three months ago after being down for 11 years. And people never understand when I say it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Alhumdulilah Allah blessed me to end my incarceration while I was better off in my Deen than when I went in. I always say patience is so key in life as sometime you don't realize something you think Is bad for you when it is actually a blessing. There are indeed brothers out there that can benefit off your videos ahki. May Allah bless you and reward you. And hopefully you can keep making videos. Inshallah.

Sorry whoever told you Muslims pre judge must've been an incredibly pious person. But in actuality we are all have pre judgement at some point Muslims are no different. You should tell your story and you will find the 'advice'was not true. May Allah SWT preserve you me and us all. Ameen
Hearing your story I feel nothing but admiration for the struggle, journey and inspiration. So thank you.
