    My thoughts: What if you draw over a spline to represent the center line of your road on plan, and connect that to your challenging terrain, and connect that spline so that it adopts to how the terrain goes up and down in waves, just like in your terrain examples. Then use that spline contour as midpoint and as a path where you can use the railing tool to follow using the your last method. I think that will bring better results as the road will follow the up down motion of the terrain it will actually be constructed on, rather than get a sample edge that might not fully represent conditions where the road will be.

    Thank you for sharing this tip. Maybe this is the best way to model the road right now.
    It seems that it only does one profile at a time, and cannot do the transition between the 2 profiles. Also, it is very tricky to model the battered bank(daylight to ground), and it is straight cut to site terrain.

    Very Good! thanks for the Tip. Could you please show us the best way to do street crossings?

    my problem now is, in case you're modelling a road which has a T-junction How does the road profile connect or intersect neatly?

      Yes it's possible, but you will be required to use a different approach with Profiles. I will make a video

    Maybe I'm a bit late. But how do u make an elaborate profile with different materials just from a 2d fill?

    • @MesolightVisual
      @MesolightVisual  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for that, fills represents material on profiles. So, you just have to assign materials to fills in profile manager. I hope it make sense

    Hi is there a way to show the profile in plan as well? My railing just shows as plain white.

      I think you will have to change the scale or the level of detail in 2D

      @@MesolightVisual with these methods of modelling roads how would you deal with a road junction on a slope?
