This felt soooo validating to watch! I've played in some very low leagues, and occasionally I've played against opponents whose style and material didn't suit me at all, and I really struggled. Often lost very decisively. Seeing one of the world's top-ranked player struggle similarly (losing 0:11 in the first game, and losing the first three games straight) showed me that this still can happen to the best. Brilliant how Szocs came back, but also brilliant from Ni how she exploited every weakness in her opponent's game, how she placed the balls, and her blocks of even the most spinny topspins... Fabulous.
Wow! I think this is one of the most thrilling matches I've ever seen. Bernie was down 3-0 and I thought it would be an easy win for Lian but what a come back. Both players are amazing! Truly a nail biter matach.
Hats off to Granie.. Bernie couldn't do much but to expolite Granies only one weakness i.e. her back hand on the left hand side. 12-0 First game was just WOW! That's what usually happens when playing against players with Anti Spin rubber. It's extremely difficult to play against them. You have to force them to make mistakes, it's always hard to return their slow ball across the net.

Poor 61 year old Ni Xia Lian is not nearly accustomed to this - she nearly never celebrated any points, just lectured szocs as she deserve with 11-0. Screaming like idiots should be penalized, because it is detrimental to player's focus and overall enjoyability of the match both for participants and viewers. I feel sorry for Ni Xia Lian for losing this way, this shouldn't have happened.
