Loved the start, loved what this lady did to turn her health around. They lost me when they started saying people shouldn’t ask about vacation time and position title etc. when applying for a job. Yes your business is your baby and you want everyone to be passionate but you can be passionate and also ask the relevant questions that will help you also succeed in your own career journey. These guys would be nowhere today if they didn’t do that themselves! She also contradicted herself by saying people need to manage their levels of stress in jobs and have more balance but then criticised people for asking about vacation time? Their points on this topic were SUPER unrelatable. They need a reality check.

When a company is successful, the entrepreneurs should support and help level up their employees around them whether it be through job titles, vacation or salaries. In return, employees will want the company to do well and work hard. Everyone wins!

Kind of interesting that you promote protecting your own peace, work life balance, etc. but don’t think it’s appropriate to ask about vacation time in an interview and expect someone to put their all into your company without knowing exactly what they will get in return. A bit conflicting.
Also, in corporate companies, titles directly align with a salary and bonus cap, and the ability to be hired at another company if someone were to leave and look for another job. Not that it’s right, but it’s the unfortunate truth.

It was very hard to keep listening to the rest of the episode after complaining about people asking about vacation time. The first part of this podcast was all about not burning out and taking care of yourself. Yes, I agree there is an appropriate time to ask about vacation and holidays (do not ask in the first interview.) Another contradiction is preaching health and quality but Perelel supplements use natural flavor and citric acid. You had multiple guests preaching how bad those ingredients are. Extremely disappointed.

I have to agree that Lauren’s going to get crap. And here it is. lol i think it’s so hypocritical of Lauren to say over and over again on the podcast of how protective she is of her peace and her schedule and how she schedules her workouts and priorities them as well as her time off with her family. And then have the audacity to say it’s not okay to ask about vacation time.. So I guess she thinks only the elite get that luxury and her employees should bow down to her and sacrifice their own health for her? Yeah it’s an absolute no from me. Seems she has some self reflection to do.

Literally such a similar story to mine. Worked in corporate fashion in New York, got burnt out, went back to school to get my masters in medical science, just diagnosed with thyroid disease, have a sibling 10 years younger in gen Z… wish we could have a group chat with all the women experiencing these things!

Hi! I’m in a similar boat…20’s, working in corporate retail in NYC, but thinking of other options that align better with female health & hormones…Let’s connect! 🤗 I would love your advice

I'm afraid I'm headed down this road. Perfectionist Millennial who's followed the rules her whole life, always looking to do the best, the most, and earn it all. I never felt smart enough, pretty enough, or talented enough, so I decided to out-work everyone. That plan has led to exhaustion, anxiety, panic disorder, sleep issues, and burnout. Add motherhood on top of it and it becomes an unsustainable hamster wheel of doom. I gotta find the exit.
