same dude. just sold 46 cases and made ~34 usd. now i can buy path of exile 2 access. seems like getting cheated ain't so bad after all. edited cuz i looked up the real amount
Valve don't work quick enough to update the heat treated and the case at the same time next week, so more passes will be bought when the heat treated goes and thus more gallery cases bought, vaporwave price ultimately goes down. Water tight right..?
Keep in mind that some countries like France Netherlands etc couldnt buy cases before renting was available but now they can. To me the CS20 case is the best sleeper invest because its not a common drop anymore and its the ONLY case with the classic knife. Also why dont you buy cases in bulk directly from bot farms like some streamers i wont mention do?
@@mjees1269 ikr im saying that in these countries unless the case was rentable you simply couldnt buy it from steam market to open it. Its the loophole that Valve found to allow French/Belgium/NL people to access gamba aswell.
One think in your math doesnt math, if the money goes back to the people they will spend it again for new skins and the seller of this skin uses it again until its gone so there is not much a difference but people being more interested in it. And more money in the market is more money for them
I get 1 or 2 of the revolver cases usually once a week and the revolver have been jumping up as well. They went from around 2.30$ to over 3$ over the last couple months months
17:50 "smb tell me why its not a bad thing" 1. Diversification - You already got cheap cases (usually the new ones) and there is only a limited demand of cheap cases. Putting in more cheap cases does not increase the demand of cheap cases, it only spreads it across those cheap cases. And if there are only cheap cases, the demand of expensive cases will be unfullfilled. 2. Investors - If all cases keep beeing cheap, nobody would ever invest into cases. That would hurt the market since a lot of the price is made up by people buying and hoarding stuff to reduce the supply and therefore increase the price. That means skin would never ever reach the hype and worth they got toady. (A skin wort 2mil is obviously more fascinating than a skin worth 2k.)
You need to consider that those cases might sell on the market more than once. Some of these rare cases might have been bought up and sold multiple times giving them those 15% each and every time it is traded.
Valve really dont seem interested in tinkering with the market and thats a good thing in my opinion. Only thing they really have set in stone is the key price and everything else is community controlled. Also if they started tinkering deliberately to bring case prices down that kind of would make them "admit" that skins are actually worth real money and thats not their policy position.
well the thing you said about renting is not all true... for us from belgium or netherlands theres no option, you either rent the case, buy the skin directly or if you want a bit of the feeling of unboxing the only choice is gambling websites...
fact check: Unboxing numbers are overall down from prev year. the reason why case prices are up is because of just supply getting eaten away. even if we have low demand, the non-active cases will still get eaten up because its a 1% chance to get them so you literally cant replace the supply no matter what. Also if what you said was correct then we would see a sharp spike in the price , the reality is this has not happened and instead we see case prices go up at a steady upward rate Thats also the reason why people consider non-active cases the holy grail of cs2 investing
In TF2 you can just buy an "unlocked crate" from the store for the price of a key, and then it's free to open from that point. So no need to get a drop or to buy from the market, and supply is infinite. They sort of do this already with Collection Packages, but there are no knives and the odds go from 1/400 to 1/4000 for... some reason.
The difference is (in the case comparison) that steam user is still putting in $20 into the steam platform regardless what ratio gets spent on key Valve gets 100% of the money in all situations.
remember when people played counter-strike because it was a fun game with lots of pub servers and tons of community created game modes and maps? now people play for clout ranks, the fantasy of being a pro, and digital eye candy. crazy how much gaming has changed within 10 years.
imagine cases being sold by valve directly at like 70 cents each, like keys. including the key you need to spend around 3$ to open one. i think it would make valve more money than now and change the economy for the better like it was back in 2016-2017 (prime cs)
If they keep going up I won’t be buying anymore, not that I get loads. Buy a few cases a week. I don’t wanna open bad cases and the older ones are getting to much
I am hoping they keep going up tbh. I invest my cases and have been since like 2019. I think I have 200$ in cases atm from just playing, as soon as my vertigo collection goes up a bit more I am buying a few games or who knows.
Rare and there for expensive cases are just part of the market. I've been saying this since I started playing CS. It's just Pokemon, YuGiOh, MTG or any TCG. I have packs worth 600+ dollars. Now idk if we'll ever see case prices that high, keys and general supply keep the numbers down. I'm also sure another part of this is investors, once they heard the renting options would consume cases there might have been another buy wave, higher demand, higher price.
I also never understood why Bloodsport ak got so expensive lol. But generally the skins in Spectrum 1 are definitely better, Spectrum 2 really only has Empress going for it.
Standard supply and demand, if you get the cases at a low price the skins will be low price as of over supply. In the long run people will open the cheap ones anyway, so the old ones are getting sold, you get the cut then the sales on steam will still happen so they take the cut of the good ones as well
The one argument you were making about higher case prices being bad for valve is a bit flawed. Someone selling the case at $2, $3, $4 was not going to open the case regardless. The price on the case itself doesn't make a difference if the player does not open it, and if it is higher, they make more money from the transaction fees. Just something to consider!
Yes bro, i really think valve should release The old knives again. I hate how you can only get lame ass knives in all The new cases. I also would really like for valve to realease a new case maybe once every 3 months, instead of every six months.
long term you risk pricing everything out of sensible ranges and then no one can afford skins or cases and we have a bubble. its creating fake value out of nothing.
you have actively dropping cases to make it affordable and also high case prices don't stop the degen gamba addicts instead it makes it more interesting such as bravo case, weapon case etc. they have a high price but also a high potential reward if you are super lucky.
@Maksimszz actively dropping cases are going up in price tho. the degen gambas are still gonna open cases, just not as many. the bravo case and other expensive cases are already exciting to open, whats your point.
@@SaarlaneKretiin Supply and demand, If case prices get too high then people will stop buying and therefore will reach an equilibrium. Im just gonna say it outright you cant have a bubble unless there is assymetric information or something which causes the market to crash. Basically skins become more expensive = case become more expensive. Skin become cheap = case become cheap. Hope that helps Active dropping cases increase the supply but if the demand is too high then you get the result of case prices going up and it is what it is. The people who are pricing you out are those who can afford to drop that much money
@Maksimszz yea and what if that continues? the pool of people who can afford, becomes smaller and smaller? eventually everything gets inflated so big that only a select small group can afford it? what then? weve had that happen in real life many times with real life things.
@SaarlaneKretiin when the pool of people becomes smaller and smaller and those people no longer wanna buy, prices start to fall this is what economics is about. The whole skin economy is called an economy because it follows those exact laws. Also it's unrealistic to expect a Saudi prince to drop 1mil on cases and unbox them all unless he has some sort of code or bot. Manually it's a hassle to unbox those cases so I doubt it will be super concentrated but you are right that those who will afford it will get those cases.
Fuck, i hate how expensive the cases are. I really hope valve start releasing cases more often, and i think they should add more cases with the old knives. More cases where you could unbox like m9, karambit, butterfly and so forth.
what makes you think people dont do both? Also cs has the potential to outperform real life index funds etc, just need to pick the winner items. You might have heard of this thing called diversification before, its smart to have a little bit of everything
As someone who doesn’t gamble and immediately sells every case for market price I see this as an absolute win.
Slightly above market! Let the prices rise!
Same. I just wish I'd held on to one of my original CS Go Weapon cases longer. I still have a 3 I haven't sold yet.

nobody renting dreams and nightmares cases 😂

around 700 - 900 cases.

Currently opened the gallery case is on level with hydra cases.
