I just bought this recently. I'm in love with this. After doing film and digital film, this is an awesome mini camera hybrid. I just love how we can use it as a printer or use it to take photos with and print on the go. It's convenient. I love how small it is and light weight.
Glad to see you're enjoying it! The Mini EVO is great to throw into a jacket pocket or bag when going out with friends or family. The hate towards this camera seems silly, ridiculous and unnecessary. 😁
It probably gets hate because as a digital camera, it's truly awful. Unless you are into photos that look like they were taken with an early 2000s cell phone. So you are basically paying $200 for an Instax mini? Pass. You can get a Instax mini for much cheaper. Or better yet, if you really want to make prints from digital, just get an Instax mini printer and print out photos from your smartphone. They will be much better quality than shots taken on the Evo. Returned my Evo after 2 days. Should have kept it and sold it for a profit to the hipsters paying twice the price for them now haha.
@@michaelbell75 honestly some people like me are into vintage looking cameras. sure it may look like an old digital camera but if you really want top notch digital quality why in the world are you looking at an instax mini? It’s a casual point and shoot.

@@JustAnotherChris Yes, Fujifilm finally figured out that hosts at events (especially weddings) want guests to be able to take away physical mementos, but the hosts then want to hold onto/use the digital versions. Not sure why almost no other manufacturer has worked this out. If this was in the Polaroid Now form factor I would buy five of them.
This camera makes my life fun. There are plenty of high quality cameras out there, and for everyday use, I think the iPhone is sufficient. This camera's pixel count is not high, but it is nostalgic and beautiful. And the fact that I can give it to my friends as a real thing, instead of exchanging photos on Instagram or Whats App, is very valuable to me.

The cost of washing film rolls is also pretty pricey in my country. So, this seems like a good alternative to start.
Reminds me of the SQ10 that I still own and use till this day. It's mostly during family gatherings as the kids love seeing the photos develop, but even the adults get a kick from seeing them.
I belong to the group that don't like this approach. It looks super nice, but part of what makes instant cameras special to me is the "each shot is unique" thing, and that you get what you get. You can't just shoot 10 pictures and print the best. You have to immerse yourself more in the whole photography process to get the results you want. Now, this is of course me as an analog photo enthusiast talking. I know that most of the Instax users are young people wanting to share physical pictures with their friends and family. And in that case, this camera makes perfect sense. However, it would be fun if Fujifilm made a "professional" instax camera with a good lens. Instax film can hold a surprising amount of details that these plastic cameras never can do justice for. Anyway, nice review 👍
That goes for both of us then. I found the best option in Lomo with mini instax film - L'instant automat. You don't know what you're getting + colored flash, multiple exposure and long (bulb) exposure, plus a ton of lens. When instant film meets film cameras effects. YUM!
I have a different type of instax camera and I still want this one so bad. Mine is one I’ve had for years and it has that what you take is what you get thing, so I can do that if I feel like it but I think if I get this camera I could also not have to worry about bringing my camera in order to get photos on film. It kinda ruins the moment imo when you’re over in the corner with flash you don’t know how to turn of and everyone gets scared every time you take a photo lol. With this one I could take photos I have on my phone and print them out onto film so I could have it years from now in case I lose the pictures on computer/phone for whatever reason. Also the thing where everyone can have a copy if they want is important to me. Being able to save pictures to print out later is amazing bc one time I brought my camera on a trip ready to take a bunch of photos only to realize it had broke and only had one film when it said 8. I only got one overexposed picture from the trip and it was so beautiful there 😭 Also this is WAY smaller than the camera I have right now and could easily fit into my bag. All in all this seems like one of the best cameras I’ve seen imo because I don’t feel as though I NEED to print out the instantly. I think I might get the brown color after I save up some money
I have an Instax Mini 11 and the thing for me is when I ask other people to take a picture of me (ofc I also need good pics of myself 😭) and even tho I already warn them about the sensitive shutter, they misclick and end up wasting the film or the photos are overexposed. Otherwise, I like analog too (when I use it)!

What a charming guy … really enjoyed your presentation, I purchased this after your review, thank you. I have Hasselblad and Leica and never remotely thought of this until I was recommended this video. It sounds fascinating ❤
This is a 5mp digital camera with an instax mini printer build in, with a lot of fun digital features, but without the analog instant photography "in the moment" fun.
I think its a great introduction for young photographers. Learning and enjoying the joy of film photography. Buying one for my 9 year old granddaughter. She loves taking photos. So many creative ideas to explore. My opinion market it to the young and elderly. My 93 year old mother would love this. She always loved the fujifilm film camera in the box and had them developed. Make it simple so anyone can enjoyed them.
This camera is awesome, i got it when it first came out because of the potential quick sell out on B&H. My only issue(s) ive logged since getting it is, i have noticed the sd card files are higher res than the wireless share files... a higher resolution sensor like maybe a 12 to 15 megapixel sensor would work way better. I wish i could control the shutter speed and / or the aperture... but thats asking too much for the price point. Thats really the only problem for me has been external shares of better looking "digital prints", the film in most cases is great by itself for most people. (Side note) I have the instax wide 300 camera for quick wedding photos...its dope too, and needs this camera's digital and wireless abilities. *bottom line, get it when you can you all!!!*
I am an artist one of my mediums is instant photography. I cried when Polaroid stop the instant photography. I have been buying every Polaroid book I can find. I moved to Fuji while Polaroid realized it made a terrible mistake. I have many of the cameras my 1st was mini 7 eventually several Years later 3 purple markes shows up. I use these photos in many ways. So I have to have it be good. I was going to get a mini 12 but after listening to you I will be more than happy to pay that with all I can do with it. Thanks for making all the features easy to understand. I am a fan and will be back often. I can never learn to much!
So i was looking for a digital camera and they all are expensive, but i was also looking for instant camera, then I saw your video of best instant ones and fell in love with this one, was looking all day where to buy one and found it. Still waiting for it to arrive but man did you help me out a ton, can't wait to get it and play with it. Thank you for being a "nerd"
Just brought this masterpiece yesterday for my mother's birthday gift she was so so happy that i can't express it. She used a Kodak during her high school days it's a nostalgia for her ❤🥂
Review was phenomenal. Always have wanted a camera of sort. Went on Amazon and just ordered one. Price tag not so beautiful though. $280 after taxes isn't to bad tbh. 80 bucks more than you suggestion. I just hope I use it more than I'm anticipating lol. I dont own a computer, so this seems pretty dope that its a hybrid and you can bluetooth it with your phone. Thank you! Have a great day brother!
I want this. Just bought my 5.5 year old her first camera. The mini 11 in pink and she loves it. I also want the pink printer too. IMO collecting cameras isn’t a bad thing.
I ended up using it more as a printer than as a camera. Since it's so big I usually don't have it with me. 😅 But I'm afraid that would be the same case for any kind of camera for me. I don't like that you can only transfer photos off of it if you print them first.
It’s fun camera not to be taken seriously. Like you wouldn’t print a billboard poster with it. I ordered mine because I am starting to dip my toes into instant photography in the sense that I can immediately pass out the photos.
Btw I didn't have difficulty getting mine. But then again I got the last one from a store in my town. The only one that was left anywhere. So I was lucky. In Aus they're $299. But to be honest I think it's worth the price. Also you don't need to print the pictures off. You can plug your SD card into a computer and transfer them across and share them on social media that way to. I will be doing a bit of both. The main reason I got it was because I'm going overseas to the US in a couple of years with my sister. And I will be meeting my friend in person for the first time, I've been talking to her online for 15 years. She lives in Ohio. The camera will be awesome to be able to take a selfie with her and actually print it off and give it to her as a keepsake. I'm someone who does love 40+megapixels but on my phone. On a camera like the mini Evo I don't care as much because it has filters etc. In my perspective the next one they make, they need to make one with a view finder, and metal casing and not plastic.
@@tashajean2006 this was around thanksgiving. Maybe they held stock until Black Friday? But yeah checking again now, looks like no one has on hand yet again.
I see a listing on Amazon like everytime I looked before around 2022s Christmas just wait for a little and they will come back. Seen a few float on Facebook marketplace, local ksl Craigslist add local listing things as well.
You’re the coolest 🤟🏻 I can’t wait for mine on Tuesday 😭🥰 can’t believe people hate on it… me and my partner went to a cabin in the woods and the accommodation even provided a mini 40 which was just so cool but this is even better… I used to do fashion photography and even a little bit on concerts but we really need more nostalgic photography and bring back the simplicity cause it’s easy and makes you work so differently 🙏🏻 thanks for the video :)
Amazing review! This for me is a no-brainer purchase!! Fits perfectly with my collection of other cameras (analogue, DSLR, mobile etc). Thanks for the review!!
I really love this camera just got it today not to mention it's very elusive. There's some going for 249.99 to 300. The orginal price is 199.99 and you have to get it at best buy and get it fast because I've found one and checked 6hrs later it was out of stock. Then I went to Amazon for 219.99 it was worth it because it took about 5 days to come. Then you actually want it from Amazon themselves it's going to be 1to 2 months to ship.
My rankings for my personal collection Instax 210 > Instax 90 > Instax EVO UNLESS!!! I’m going to be shooting a lot of people/in areas with lighting I’m not 100% on. It’s also SUPER approachable for people who aren’t instant film obsessed. Great with groups. Also bonus you can give a copy and still have a copy. Largest con for me is just the lack of depth/real look that my others have
I didn't know this camera existed. I've been doing instant photography on a very informal way with my Instax SQ-10 and I love it. But just came across the EVO while in Madrid (yes I'm in Spain right now) and I had to get. And, just to get you green with envy, I paid less than $170 for it. Sooo... here I go again.
While it's not my favorite instant camera, or even Instax camera (a tie between the 500af and the MiNT TL70), and mostly because it DOES change the whole vibe of instant photography, what this EVO has become is a companion to my main digital Fujifilm camera, it actually lives in the same bag as it. Reason be is that it is fun to shoot with quickly whereas with my larger camera it's a whole "thing" with lens choice and such, and also I can print directly FROM my Fujifilm camera to it, so they actually have an interesting symbiotic relationship in case I want to fire out a print for a friend or just want to see a test print. I totally understand the more snooty response against it, and they're right in a lot of ways, but I also agree the EVO is a great gateway drug for someone used to cell phone photos to get into analog.
Great review! I’m taking a trip to Japan at the end of the year and have been looking for a camera to take with me. This seems like a strong contender!
Great Review! I'm probably going to buy it. I hear that actual Polaroid film is not nearly as reliable as Fuji right now. I saw a person yesterday who was shooting Fuji 90 and her photos were so tight! I know its a different product but this amazes me. Its not a dye-sub, it prints to actual emulsion film. Its just super awesome.
Cool review. I’m a street photographer and can be very shy when it comes to street portraiture. If I give the option of giving the subject a photo, I think this will open up a whole new world. and subjects will be only happy to pose. Being a Fuji XT5 and the new Nikon ZF, this says a lot.
Thanks for the review! I’m a wierd spot where I used to practice with my dad’s analog (that doesn’t work anymore), grew up with digital, but want to get into instant photography. When looking for something that can combine any of the 3 and when I heard about this that had all 3 I thought it was too good to be true. Thanks for the confirmation that this was a good find!
A lot of camera for the money, as you get the best parts from the Instax mini and instant printer, pact into a camera that looks like the instax 40. The only negative I see with these hybrid cameras is that the experience of not knowing the result of one's photo disappears as you can plan all images so that none is a waste of film.
It has become so difficult to get it at a reasonable price after getting so much hyped these days... I remember when I first saw this camera a few months back. It had not even reached 200 dollars at that time. They sell it for at least 250 now
I think this is an awesome idea and if you don't like the idea of it just walk on by, I will pick one up early summer next year as I've spent all my Christmas credits this year 😀.. These hybrid cameras are a really good idea and I hope to see more companies bringing more out
Polaroid, Kodak and Canon have been making hybrid instant cameras for years now. The Polaroid Pop came out in 2017 and think a few others are even older. I really like my Pop. They use ZINK rather than Instax. Although a few of them (like the Kodak Mini Shot 3 Retro) use dye sublimation and look better than Instax IMO.
No problems finding these in stock in Ireland! I love mine! I shoot with a Sony A7R4 but I love that I can use this camera as a camera and a printer. Just for the pure joy of been able to watch the print develop and be able to take a photo from my smugmug account and send it via my phone to the camera and can print multiple prints of the same image and hand them to people is great. things I've noticed. The Black and White film I've tried was not good, it was splotchy and exposed unevenly as if something was wrong with it and the contrast and quality of the image was poor. I found it was better to print in Mono to the colour film. Also I paired the camera to my phone via blu-tooth and was using it without issue, however a co-worked asked to borrow the camera and when he tried to pair it do his phone the camera locked up and became unusable and I needed to hit the reset button, after that it started to give issues with internal menus during blutooth pairing and menus started to hang/freeze. Once paired back to the original phone it was less problematic. I'd love to see a tear-down video that shows how the Film is getting exposed when exiting the camera, is it a laser or strip light that exposes the image line by line as the film is passing it! or other questions.
I found a new one mini evo for $100 and thought it might be worth giving it a chance, even though I was negative (I have about 10 other instant cameras) I was pleasantly surprised!
I wish fuji come out with square or wide version of this camera . It would be awesome . HEY ' just another chris ' can i used this camera to shot some nostalgic photos and print that photo in square size printer of fuji would it give me square shape printed photo or not . I really want to have square shape model of this class .
I just got mine, though it was on back order for about 5 months! I honestly thought the retailer had made off with my deposit. Absolutely DO NOT get tricked into buying a priced-gouged item online. Be patient and pay the real price for it. I saw some jokers wanting $500+ for these. Disgusting behaviour!!
I don’t have a phone with a camera so this was perfect for me. You probably save money on film for not wasting photos on bad shots. Also great for pets pics!
Thanks! It's a shame this doesnt have the same functionality of my SQ10 where you can change the exposure, effects, add vignettes and all that after the photo has been taken. Not sure why Fuji did this but it's a huge step backwards IMO, as is the non removable battery of the SQ10. Will probably return or sell the Evo and just get a Mini printer.
@@JustAnotherChris I already have the Instax wide and absolutely love it. So much fun and brings a new dimension to making photography fun again. Also, I have 2 Pentax LX cameras (both serviced) with all the trimmings and extras. However, this seems a great little camera although pricey. So, your enthusiasm for this camera has made my mind that I need this. I do wish the film format was slightly larger though.

I purchased this camera, used it for about a day and it wasn’t for me. The prints are cool and look like any other insta camera. My disappointment was in the digital photos I transferred to my phone. They looked like they were taken on a toy camera. So for $200 wasn’t worth it. My INSTAX Mini 40 was better quality prints.
I read very often that the EVO camera exports kinda pixelated photos due to the digital format in comparison of a real analog camera. For example the sky, the transition of colors from blue to white looks very choppy with the EVO hybrid camera.
Can you make a video about PORTABLE PHOTO PRINTERS? I'm looking for a film camera for my mother. She grew up in the 70s always wanting a polaroid, but never got one. She loves hiking so I want to buy a good compact instant camera or a printer!! There's way too few videos about these cameras and printers!!
I bought a mini 40 last year, nd it came with one cartridge. Ten pictures later and several months later i am finding it hard to purchase more film cartridges because they are sooo expensive. I am budgeting for this one nd plan on selling the mini 40

(Side note)
I have the instax wide 300 camera for quick wedding photos...its dope too, and needs this camera's digital and wireless abilities.
*bottom line, get it when you can you all!!!*
I just ordered one tonight. I’m looking forward to using this on my next vacation and creating a photo book.
Amazing!
whenever i want a camera review i always come here first, love ur vids man keep it up!
Well thank you! Glad you have found my videos helpful!
Just bought this on a whim and realized I should've probably checked out some reviews first, thanks for a great review!
Love the Corridor hat btw
I am an artist one of my mediums is instant photography. I cried when Polaroid stop the instant photography. I have been buying every Polaroid book I can find. I moved to Fuji while Polaroid realized it made a terrible mistake. I have many of the cameras my 1st was mini 7 eventually several
Years later 3 purple markes shows up.
I love my evo!!! I have other instax cameras but I love how small this one is, you can bring it anywhere.
Exactly!! Pretty confident
Can we transfer photos from evo to our iPhones ?
@@mridulsharma6809 I think that if u have an sd card in the camera you can transfer the photos to your laptop and then your phone.
This was a good overview. Excited to get started using it for things like vacations
It’s great for that!
I want this. Just bought my 5.5 year old her first camera. The mini 11 in pink and she loves it. I also want the pink printer too. IMO collecting cameras isn’t a bad thing.
great line up!
I ended up using it more as a printer than as a camera. Since it's so big I usually don't have it with me. 😅 But I'm afraid that would be the same case for any kind of camera for me.
I don't like that you can only transfer photos off of it if you print them first.
whats wrong with using the sd card and putting them onto a computer???
I got mine on sale at Target for $189, then I had a 10% off Target Circle offer so I got it for $170! So far I love it!
Now that’s a deal!
It’s fun camera not to be taken seriously. Like you wouldn’t print a billboard poster with it. I ordered mine because I am starting to dip my toes into instant photography in the sense that I can immediately pass out the photos.
I just got this bad boy! I'm no photographer, but for a summer vacation backpacking, this is so cool. Thanks for the video bro!
That’s awesome!!
I just got the Leica version of this camera. I’m excited to use it soon.
Target has been running them for $190 for holidays. Was shocked they had so many and even had them on sale.
I can’t find it anywhere!!’ Hook me up lol
@@tashajean2006 this was around thanksgiving. Maybe they held stock until Black Friday? But yeah checking again now, looks like no one has on hand yet again.
@@tashajean2006 Best buy has them back in stock. I placed an order on December 29th and mine just shipped today
@@tashajean2006 i JUST saw in stock on Walmart app for $199.99!!! Jan 5 at 7p
I see a listing on Amazon like everytime I looked before around 2022s Christmas just wait for a little and they will come back. Seen a few float on Facebook marketplace, local ksl Craigslist add local listing things as well.
I’ve been looking at instant cameras for a while now. you have sold me!! Thank you!!
Glad I can help!
That’s fantastic!!
My rankings for my personal collection
Instax 210 > Instax 90 > Instax EVO
UNLESS!!! I’m going to be shooting a lot of people/in areas with lighting I’m not 100% on.
It’s also SUPER approachable for people who aren’t instant film obsessed. Great with groups. Also bonus you can give a copy and still have a copy.
Largest con for me is just the lack of depth/real look that my others have
Just got delivery of mine. I absolutely love it! This video has sold me out again 🥰🥰😍😍
That’s great!
Just bought it thank you!!!
I will also be going to Japan but I leave next month!
i think its a dope camera. a friend of mine actually has one. i am just not a fan of instax mini or squares. but i love the instax wides.
It would be dope if they made an instax wide version of this camera!
Thank you so much for your explanations and enthusiasm for this awesome Instax evo camera! I just got mine and am totally loving it!
That’s fantastic!
Great work. This camera is so cool. I wish for a bigger format of picture.
Thank you! And yes same!
I would love this in Wide format
Cool review. I’m a street photographer and can be very shy when it comes to street portraiture. If I give the option of giving the subject a photo, I think this will open up a whole new world. and subjects will be only happy to pose. Being a Fuji XT5 and the new Nikon ZF, this says a lot.
I think this is a brilliant concept. It would be great if Polaroid came out with a i type film version.
I hope they do!
I am so smitten. It is hard to find for sale but, ... I love that the quality of the pics can be so much better than nearly any of instant cameras.
Just hang tight they will be back in stock for retail price soon!!
Dude I knew I recognized that bridge at the start of the video! Your local to Vancouver! That’s dope. More pnw rep ✌️❤️
Indeed I am!
A lot of camera for the money, as you get the best parts from the Instax mini and instant printer, pact into a camera that looks like the instax 40.
The only negative I see with these hybrid cameras is that the experience of not knowing the result of one's photo disappears as you can plan all images so that none is a waste of film.
Thank you Chris! I love you man for doing this review :') I decided to get this one!!!!
Wow ive just found my dream camera great review
Glad it helped!
It has become so difficult to get it at a reasonable price after getting so much hyped these days... I remember when I first saw this camera a few months back. It had not even reached 200 dollars at that time. They sell it for at least 250 now
Tf i bought it for 80$ here in India yesterday
I think this is an awesome idea and if you don't like the idea of it just walk on by, I will pick one up early summer next year as I've spent all my Christmas credits this year 😀..
These hybrid cameras are a really good idea and I hope to see more companies bringing more out
It’s super fun!
I still have my old Polaroid 1 step camera. It still works great!!!!
That’s awesome!
Just got mine the fact you can print any photo from your phone means i can print my dlsr shots after i edit them so fire 🔥 portable printer
5:40 - It works with no SD as well, but you only have room for 45 photos. ;)
I got one for Christmas and never really used it until I found it the other day. Forgot how solid a little camera it was.
Does it record?
I dig it, I just wish the sensor was an upgrade from the Lil Play ... it is cooler looking but not and better quality wise!!!
me at first : ewwwwww there's a screen
me after the review : ooooh not bad
I just ordered it i cant wait!
Loving that corridor crew hat, also great video!
It’s the best!
This is so cool! It’d be extra cool if they made it with the wide film too
One can only hope!
They do have discontinued SQ10 and SQ20 in Square sizes tho
Just brought this camera it’s my 5th Instax and I’m watching this while I wait for it to charge 🤣 I’m that impatient!
Only 5?? Wow you got a long way to go!! 😜
I wish fuji come out with square or wide version of this camera . It would be awesome .
HEY ' just another chris ' can i used this camera to shot some nostalgic photos and print that photo in square size printer of fuji would it give me square shape printed photo or not .
I really want to have square shape model of this class .
Check out the sq10
I just got mine, though it was on back order for about 5 months! I honestly thought the retailer had made off with my deposit.
Absolutely DO NOT get tricked into buying a priced-gouged item online. Be patient and pay the real price for it. I saw some jokers wanting $500+ for these. Disgusting behaviour!!
Yeah never pay more than $200. I feel $200 is already too much for this camera.
Great video however for a noob like myself I'm curious as to how you load the film? I could have missed it in this video. Otherwise fantastic video.
Great fun review mate. Cheers dude.
Thank you! What was your biggest takeaway??
@@JustAnotherChris I already have the Instax wide and absolutely love it. So much fun and brings a new dimension to making photography fun again. Also, I have 2 Pentax LX cameras (both serviced) with all the trimmings and extras. However, this seems a great little camera although pricey. So, your enthusiasm for this camera has made my mind that I need this. I do wish the film format was slightly larger though.
Well hey that’s awesome!!
Interessting Camera, but Fuji please relase a square version of this one.
I’m sure they will
dude i just found ur channel its so perfect wow
Welcome!
I was looking into a good camera for vacations and I’ve always love having physical copies of things, but as a digital artist I’m always worried about waisting film and stuff. I really to k I’m going to buy this it seems like the perfect middle ground c:
Sounds like this is the perfect camera for you!
Freakin love your videos! thanks for all the great info!
Thank you! That means a lot!
Thank you for this video! It solidified my purchase 😊
Heck’s yeah! It’s a great camera!
@@JustAnotherChris love that you get it. I'm getting it for my girlfriend for Christmas and you nailed what the purpose of this camera is for! We're both excited to use it :)
Please Fuji make a Wide version of this!
If only!
I haven’t experienced that myself
Can you make a video about PORTABLE PHOTO PRINTERS?
I'm looking for a film camera for my mother. She grew up in the 70s always wanting a polaroid, but never got one. She loves hiking so I want to buy a good compact instant camera or a printer!!
There's way too few videos about these cameras and printers!!
Excellent Review, tx so much!
Your welcome! What was your biggest take away?
Nice to see another corridor fan!
Forever and always
Great review man! I too love this camera and have a ton of fun shooting with it.
Thank you!
I bought a mini 40 last year, nd it came with one cartridge. Ten pictures later and several months later i am finding it hard to purchase more film cartridges because they are sooo expensive. I am budgeting for this one nd plan on selling the mini 40
ooh very nice, thank you for the review. i have an old instax mini printer and an x-e4... thinking of getting one of these. this seems like a really good deal, as an instax printer AND an instant camera. wondering when/if Fujifilm will release a new version of this camera.
Well this camera is only a year old so it could be awhile for that unfortunately
@@JustAnotherChris good point, thank you!
I saw instax had black and white stacks for cheaper than colour packs(:
