However the video tells a different story: One interpretation is that the band kills its past ("Mutter" album and before), frees itself from the musical chains from their older times. They don't want to be clones doomed to repeat themselves - one needs to evolve to grow. The outro shows what happen if you don't succeed ... But with Rammstein you never know (btw the outro is a remix of "Zeit")

I've read that Rammstein was asked whether this is a goodbye of the band and they answered that this is not their intention and they don't have plans to end up with their music. The whole album - which has a kind of melancholic touch (even in the funny tracks) - was made under the impression of personal losses of the band members. In this context, lyric-wise "Adieu" looks to me as the feeling of a lost fight against death ... not of the own death, but of loved ones ... and to finally accept that there is nothing to stop it. A kind of sad acceptance of the inevitable. Video-wise they are referencing to the time when they had produced their album "Mutter" and almost parted and had to reinvend themselves - which they did fortunately. And there are a lot of references to other movies, e.g. Joker, Matrix, Immortals.

If you plan to do more Rammstein songs, i can only recommend checking out "Educated Marine" on RUclips. He has most, if not all Rammstein Videos, Live Shows, Songs with really good subtitles (even explains double meanings). The Auto-Translate on RUclips isnt that good in my opinion. Would recommend checking out "Angst" as your next Song. This will need good subtitles, because otherwise it has another meaning.
....Not to come off as too stalker like hah 😶... but I forgot to tell you before ... if you are reacting to songs from the Zeit album , you can put on lyrics and have them auto-translated to english...for the most part the lyrics are good ... doesn't seem to work on other albums as well ( or at all..) except for the video- Deutschland .
