  • In this clip from one of my recent livestreams, I have a conversation with a 30-year-old box truck entrepreneur who is struggling to balance working on his business versus working in his business. He doesn't want to get back out in the field, even though his business is in need. He's also facing challenges with maintaining the separation between being an employer and an employee, and it seems his leadership is being tested by his own workers.
I jump into full accountability mode and give him some tough but necessary advice to help him strengthen his leadership, get his business back on track, and make sure the lines between employer and employee don’t blur. If you’re a young entrepreneur facing similar challenges, this is a must-watch!

I want to put an employee or non-employee contract in place so that my future drivers agree and sign to everything that will happen to them if they make the wrong choice. Contracts are the law in this country and anyone in the trucking industry better use them. Any business really. Sure mistake will happen, but every company I drove for had us sign one and that meant we knowingly agreed to the terms and conditions and all the disciplinary actions if we made a decision that didn’t go well or contribute to the good of the company. Lastly as an employee I was always grateful for every opportunity that the companies gave me. Nobody has to build any business bigger than themselves. They can fish enough for them and leave it at that. So if we build something bigger than ourselves requiring help, it’s in our best interest as business owners to let them know the terms and conditions of the opportunity in writing so they can’t say they didn’t know or that they didn’t agree.

Honestly he right with playing with people money. I been at my job for 4 years and I kept coming late by 15 min everyday, After a few years of being there. After a couple months, my boss took my bonus hours from me witch is $200 every week. After a couple a weeks of that, I was on time since then 🤣🤣💯💯💯

My insurance company dropped me. I had 2 drivers total 2 different trucks in the same year. Both were reliable guys with good driving records but after that happened my rates were too high to continue to run my business

You definitely don’t talk to your employees the way you telling this man to do so homie that’s not wise info it’s a right way and a wrong way to handle people regardless of the individual and situation you should always be professional and respectful dude seems like a smart businessman he’ll eventually figure it out or run into someone that can give him more sound and valuable information that will help him and his business when you’re scaling a business and that business begins to grow you need to hire the right people that’s going to see your vision and also add value to the business you can’t do it by yourself sometimes people will go above and beyond for you just off of the treatment and respect you show them rewarding them for their hard work making them feel like they matter and not just another worker but also being firm in what you expect from them this is just my opinion others may disagree and that’s fine we can agree to disagree. ✌🏾

Your wrong. When you walk in my shoes then you can tell me how I have had to deal with situations. It's documented on this channel how I've had to deal with grown men who've tested me in this tough market of Chicago. It's also documented, on this channel from a previous employee who started his own box truck business and realized quickly why I ran the company that way when he was dealing with the same issues and had to adapt and do the same thing. So you're absolutely wrong. Until you can walk in someone else shoes you can't say what they did or didn't do. As Cam would say..."you wasn't there"!
