How's the Real Estate market in Palm Springs?
The Altos Market Action Index (MAI) report answers the question: "How's the Market?". It's a great research tool for a real estate market update whenever you want one because it updates every day.
The example in this video is for the City of Palm Springs but you can just change the location for other cities in the Greater Palm Springs area / Coachella Valley.
So if you are interested in researching real estate statistics and data for Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indian Wells, Cathedral City, Indio or Desert Hot Springs, just change the location and answer the question "how's the market?".
You can also access the report via zip code. So if you want to check out the real estate market for North Palm Springs 92262 or South Palm Springs 92264, just use the zip code you want in the search bar.
The market report also let's you to separate houses (SFR) from condos and townhomes.
The market Action Index (MAI) graphic clearly shows whether the market is more favorable to buyers or sellers. The Real Time Market Profile grid shows trend lines for nine statistical data points plus the Market Action Index.
The profile and the interactive graphs lower down on the page looks at:

The profile also shows the Median Rent calculation.
The individual graphs show for the above 9 criteria show 7 day and 90 day trends and go back 5 years.
To get more detail, check off the Market Segment box and the data segments into 4 different price points.
This data is very powerful whether you are thinking of buying or selling a home in Palm Springs. You can see that in the example in the video looking at median list prices of all housing inventory compared to the median list price of new inventory. The new inventory is priced lower. That means at the time these statistics were captured that sellers were getting more aggressive in their pricing and that a lot of overpriced homes are on the market.
