I just watched your video and I'm trying to do what you said but it's not working. After I select the post and go to create ad, it goes to a blank screen instead of going to the create ad window. I still seem to be on the Ad Manager window. In the upper left hand corner I see the facebook icon, menu lines and the text "Page Posts". I tried it with a few other posts and it did the same thing. Do you have any suggestions. I want to do a quick ad so don't want to have to build it from scratch.

I'm watching this in 2019 (seeing this was made in 2017), and I'm not understanding what the difference is between boosted and an ad. In a boost, you can pick targeted audience by location, gender, age and interests. I'm wondering if this was an update Facebook made since 2017, because I'm not understanding the advantage of running an ad campaign has over a boosted post.
Boosted posts are "ads" in a way, but they don't give you much control over who the ads target. In general a boosted post just targets people who are already following your page. A proper "ad" created in the ad manager will let you set whatever kind of targeting, campaign goals, budgets (on click, on impression, etc), as well as targeting other platforms such as instagram if you choose.

I don't agree. With boosted posts, you can write as much as you want in your post, but with ads the number of characters is very limited so you can't put in much detail. I am not sure it's true that you can't control what people can do on it - I've recently done boosted posts and it asks what you want to achieve, i.e more messages, more post engagement etc. But my main problem with Facebook ads is the limited number of characters you can include in them, which is why I prefer boosted posts.

okay I'm confused because I have always understood that boosting is the cheapest most effective way for eyeballs to click on a catchy post but when you do advertising then you pay per click which could get extremely expensive. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong or if I misunderstood
(UPDATE) Facebook moved tools-page post. To find it, after you click ads manager from your facebook home page you'll see a search icon at the BOTTOM of the screen. Not the top, but on the bottom. After you click that you then type in "page post"
Can you see comments on an ad (not boosted)? I was told you can't direct the conversation and rebuttal/correct erroneous comments unless it's a boosted post.
Hi Ms. Jessica. After using a boost, the number of people that my page can reach reduced from it's normal number. Before, I can reach an average of 250 people per post. I followed some groups that would possibly be interested in my store(yoga, hiking, sports). Then, when I checked on account, friend suggestion began flooding with inappropriate pictures, very inappropriate. I have children and, not only do I not want to see that, but can't have them see those. So I deactivated account. Is there a way I can club these two or more posts and accumulate the likes shares and comments. Although the views of these multiple posts are same. what do you mean by "how long should an ad be?" like the copy or the video? Ads are the bottom level in an ad campaign through facebook; it goes CAMPAIGN > AD SET > AD. The campaign level sets the objective, the ad set level sets the budget and audience and the ad sets the copy + images/video. Hope that helps!

Do you recommend using a static customized thumbnail on the video for fB ads or an auto play. If you’re replaying an existing video, I assume you don’t have the freedom to add a thumbnail. Is that true?
Warning! If anybody wants to AD on Facebook, you must consider carefully. Because they will charge after the expiry of the AD period without consulting you. Hence, you must immediately remove your Credit card information upon expiry of the AD. However, please also note that even though you want to remove your credit card information, it’s very difficult to remove because of how Facebook works, it is very hard to remove easily. I recently had this bad experience and have lost money because of it. They have debited 3 times from my credit card without my consent. They are so cunning and practice in dirty business. Good luck!

Some experts told me that okay it's the same, but from (Boosting a post) Facebook wouldn't be very accurate, spend more money, etc

You can still see comments on ads, you can also reply to those comments.
So are you saying that I don't have to pay for the post and still get the same exposure?
Unfortunately, you can create ads unless you have a business account ..it will not create through personal accounts to sell for marketplace.

Boosting your page only bring viewers to your Facebook page. You can further create Ads to retarget people who engaged with your ads.
but what if people run ad blockers?...wouldn't boosting the post work better in that sense

I lost my money from my Credit card and I don’t know why! It’s because I boost post or what?? Can you tell me what’s happened?
I just boosted a post on my FB page and it got like 40 likes but after it the campaign finished , i don't see any of those likes on the original post......!!! Wish u could answer me this .
Don't boost ;) Ha. I am not sure, it's probably a glitch but it's hard to say.
