I'd love to see a comparison between this and the Boker USB OTF. I had to choose between the two and got the Boker purely due to price but the Hogue still catches my eye
@@n_conway7571 I do! great little utility blade with great action. Only downsides are it has no pocket clip and the edge was pretty bad from the factory. I carry it in my coin pocket and I reprofiled the edge so no complaints here!
@@n_conway7571 i have one too, and i agree with Edgar its a very cool little knife. with a few downsides, mine was super stiff when i got it and took some serious break in. and the edge was lopsided and pretty bad out of the box. even after reprofile its pretty thick behind the edge too ... if your interested in seeing a video of it let me know and ill shoot one
I think people underestimate the shorts factor. In FL just like Cali lightweight clothes are almost constant for 6 months or more. Thank you Nick for the nod to us shorts wearing folks
Nick, I bought one of these (later version I think) and thought I would dis-assembly it to add some lubrication and smooth the action. It came apart too easily, and the parts just popped out. Had I not found this video, I might never have been able to re-assemble it, so I owe you a debt of thanks for the excellent video. Best wishes, Lou
That’s nice I’m happy to see hogue filling the gap as a guy with a very damaged right hand I’ve tried to get a utx 70 but they’re just never available making this a great option I just wonder how much force it takes to fire this as I did have blast injuries to both hands which costed me some strength in my left also
Thanks for the content. I love to see reviews about knives I will never ever see or hold. In this case, us Europeans can't carry autos no matter how "California" friendly it is.
Germans and Italians (and some of the eastern European countries) can carry autos (Germany has the same auto rules as California) And then we have France that has a broken knife law that forbids the carry of all knives but the police (gendarmerie), sellers and the people don’t care and refuse to follow the law making all so called illegal weapons except guns freely available
Thank you for pointing out the the benefits that go beyond, "switchblade? stiletto? That COOOL." (I know it's not a stiletto, or a dagger, but I hear them called that a lot). I like have a small OTF on me so I can very reliably deploy, and more importantly, close (aka "make safe") one handed while my very young and energetic son runs around, and sometimes runs straight at me. It allows me to direct/control/hug him with one arm and to close my knife with the other w/o looking.
Thanks for the review. I'm living in Ca myself, so just purchased this knife and should be here next week. I'm excited. my last purchase was the runt 5 and a damn fine knife too. keep up the great work!
I've got the mini exocet, but my girlfriend deemed it cute and snatched it to carry. Love these smaller blades as they are just fun. Not the most practical, just fun.
I don't live in CA, but I love the proliferation of mini autos being released. It was something I never knew I wanted until I got one. As much as I hate the overreaching laws, I find it funny that it inspired a new niche in the hobby. I think these pair nicely carried with a larger folder...and also a traditional of course...plus gotta have a SAK on you... Damn, now I need a fixed blade ; )
As a person with only one functioning hand, I would love one of these, but here in the U.K., all autos are banned with absolutely no exceptions. Nanny knows best!
I am sorry you stay in a country where pretty much all knives are illegal yet knife crime is at one of the highest around the world. Pains me bro. What sort of knives have you gotten around to using with your condition, if you don't mind me asking?
The first one I bought the spring broke within one week. I returned it to the dealer and they sent me another one. The same day I got it the spring broke on it, I took it apart and fixed it myself and so far it has stayed intact.
Do you know if anyone makes something exactly like this double action otf but with a replaceable razor blade? Once forgot my expensive knife in my pocket at airport and ended up just throwing it away now I carry something with removable blade because I can just toss that if need be plus it's always sharp. But it would be nice to still have the cool factor lol

Texas doesn’t limit knife size- there are weirdos walking around with swords here- but I like small knives. They’re so easy to carry. Two inches of blade is enough for almost all the things I want to cut. But this one is out of my price range, unless I strike gold.

there aren't that many cali legal otf except for those bokers plus usb with the switch on the sides and those fat microtech exocet which i don't really like. It isn't as pricy as a the microtech trodon mini either. Hoping guardian tactical makes a cali otf as well.
