I can completely understand why people wouldn’t like this episode. But honestly it’s one of my favorites. I love 1337 😂

This is truly the Legendary ending we needed!

As a huge dragon ball z fan this was one of my favorite episodes, But I understand this style does not fit the grim dark nature of halo and isn’t for everyone but I’m happy you guys watched it! I believe rob will love the next episode much more. prototype is the best animation in my opinion.

While not for everyone, I could definitely see this as a nice fan service tribute to those who grew up watching dragonball. Makes sense that the studio who developed it would use the style they are good at. Prototype is indeed fantastic and one of my personal favorites! (grim/dark storytelling is right up my alley lol)

legends episodes are like eye witness records. You can just imagine the different styles are different people telling a story about what they hear/read in canonical sense.
it is also implied the kids were spartans the AI was raising. Though the episode lacked detail to convey that point, the clues are there.

I think an interesting way to think of this one is that 1337 is the clone-Chief player 2 plays as when you play co-op campaign. It explains the silly atmosphere as co-op games get real silly sometimes. And why Chief and Cortana seem to know him so well

While I do agree how goofy it is, I will say there's a possible explanation as to why the 'Normal' Kids could engage that Big Brute in combat despite just seeming normal.
It's heavily implied that due to being 'born' on that Space Ship with their Mom clearly being an AI Construct, that maybe they have Spartan Enhancements in some regard, but just lack the typical Armor. Considering how Fast and Tough Spartans are shown to be, it's likely the reason they're shown with such high strength and speed, though like the Episodes main backend plot it's more of an implication. Either way, Toei Animation probably just wanted to inject their bombastic stylings into the Halo Universe for fun rather than serious adherence to the canon.

This one is my least favorite but it makes up for it in the humor. The next one is a great one. Can't wait to see that one. Very emotional.

100% agree. While it might not be our cup of tea per say, we still had a nice laugh and good time. I definitely got a kick out of watching this one back and seeing the speechless look on our faces at certain points 🤣

@@x2zchat Makes me laugh so much every time especially the brute and 1337 matching each other's energy perfectly.

This was made stupid on purpose because odd one out isnt canon at all- the guys who made dragonball made this short and its the only one in halo legends that isnt canon

    • @x2zchat
      @x2zchat  9 месяцев назад

Yeah, I think it makes sense that they took this approach since they are the ones who made dragonball and that is their style/what they are known for. Rather than change their style of animation, it was more of a fan service to their type of audience who would definitely enjoy it

I might be overstepping a bit by asking but, are you going to play Halo Wars or just watch the cutscenes?
Most of, if not all of Halo Wars can be followed by just the cutscenes alone. (That includes both cinematic and game cutscenes for context.)
But if you are just watching the cutscenes, i suggest showing the Halo Wars cutscenes after your Halo 3 ODST playthrough, since it adds more context on how vicious and brutal the Covenant were when attacking Human Colonies before you guys get onto playing Halo Reach.

I was originally leaning towards just having Rob watch the cutscenes, but I have been thinking about it more and it might actually be fun to have him play. I will probably have him try the tutorial and see if he likes it to let him decide if he would like to play it.
In regards to order I plan to have him play/watch Halo Wars 1 & 2 right before going into Halo Infinite. Reason? Because the banished are only introduced in Halo Wars 2 which leads nicely into Infinite, and Halo Wars leads nicely into Halo Wars 2 since it is a continuation of the story :)

Spartan 1337 is the only highlight to Odd One Out, in my opinion anyways.
