How Jake does it is far more accurate and exactly what I do in deep water. Takes all the guess work out completely. But you must hold the rod at exactly the same angle when the lead hits the bottom on the marker rod and the fishing rods.. First cast the marker out to your spot un clip pop the float up.. Then cast the spod at the float clip up wrap up and it will give you the exact difference between spod rod and fishing rod. Note both wraps job done
Yes mate but it would have only really been possible with adjustable zigs, with barbless ruling and 1 rod only for zigs it sometimes can feel like a waste of a rod. I wouldn’t personally be keen on adjustables and barbless. Having 3 rods on zigs would be better but Embryo state only one, so we have to honour their rules. Hope this answers your question 👌
@@Jake_TCM Yeah, proper deep lol I dread to think how deep it goes casting further out into open water! And the reservoir is very low at the moment lol Will be taking the Deeper Pro out next year to try and map some of the areas I fish regularly. I recon it will easily exceed the capabilities of the Deeper Pro!
@ never much past 20ft to be honest mate, I don’t like having to double bag them and at 40ft I’ve no idea what’s happening to the bag on the drop. I’d much prefer a conventional lead clip at that depth. Loads of people do though, just a personal preference I suppose!
@@Jake_TCM Yeah, the double bagging and unknowns right. I have not tried solid bags at those depths for the same reasons probably. Will give it a shot one day as its tough fishing at the moment
That lead is not the 1,hanging and catching on that leader, you should no better be being a so called professional angler, Mr Russel won't make such errors 🙈
I agree, it caught on the leader knot which is less than ideal, something it never usually does but due to using a traditional lead clip running rather than a dedicated running rig in this instance it caught the knot and held it up. I'm not a professional angler either by the way, I'm a magazine editor! Myself and Ian both spoke about it off camera and had I stayed I would have fished fixed as I had no running rig bits in my bag. Keen eye though! Hope my reply helps anyone reading this 👍
If the whole clip has already past over the knot then why is it a problem that its come to rest on top of the knot. Yes it looks a bit clumsy but bares no Problem
Great video guys well done, very informative 👏🏼
Great film guys 👊🏻
Great Videp🎏🎏🎏
Great video, might try a running rig on my next trip.

tuyệt vời anh ơi câu cá rất thú bị bên anh phong cảnh thật là đẹp ❤
With all the shows would it not have not have been worth trying a zig?

@Jake_TCM I didn't know rules but agree with you if only one rod and barbless. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
No problem mate, thanks for watching 👌
20ft of water? Thats not deep ;-) I was fishing in 60ft of water last week with an easy lob. Fishing 2 rod lengths out is 15ft. Really struggled!
Yeah 20ft isn’t mega deep but it’s deeper than average! 60ft is proper deep 😂
