@@GuerreroDelInfo fully agree. I always loved these blades. My mate bought the new 08 when they changed the shape and I never liked it. I like the fat back end of the 05. I have a mint condition low mileage hm plant Honda model and its 😍stunning! It's 16years old now.and still looks good amongst the newer bikes, in fact my bike will get a lot of attention compared to the newer bikes. Seems like this model was/is a fav to many superbike riders As for the ride this thing isna pleasure to ride, no mod cons just a very good electronic steering damper and the feel of your right wrist. Imo that's all you need for that raw unedited feeling. With only 8k on the clock this badboy has all the power that it came with from the factory. Slight variation with the sprockets and the front wheel will come up easily off the clutch in 1,2,3 and 4th if your going quick enough. Bike will hit top end of 180 ish pretty comfortably. If your ever going that quick your going too quick so these newer bikes with top ends going towards the 200mph is just pointless to me. It's way more important to have a smooth PowerPlant with a strong mid range and I fee Honda got it close to perfect with the 05 blade! The presenter of this clip got one thing bang on though. This gearbox does not like to be tickled. I learnt early on that you have to be very positive with gear shifts either wise u can hit false neutrals and the one thing he is 110% correct on is the change from 1st to 2nd....it is very clunky but something you get used to pretty quickly. I do wonder if a diff map setting would smooth this out but its something you really don't notice when u get used to the bike. Imo this is one of the best looking Hondas you can buy and there are still a "FEW" out there with low miles. These are close to being a classic sports bike so just watch the price go through the roof for a real clean low miles one! #Honda powered😉
I love this format. This is easily my favorite RUclips channel right now, very informative with real world information worth knowing. I grow tired of only ever hearing about a bike's ability to hold a line on the track. Please keep the videos coming!!
I think you will find the shift from 1st to 2nd alot smoother if you change gear at higher RPM these are designed to be driven hard, things don't work as well on sports bikes at low speed and RPM . Good review. cheers

There was a problem with buying replacement parts as they were discontinued or unavailable in the first couple of years of owning it. I kept it for 6 years and should of bought a GSXR 1000R instead.

i wish other manufacturers would make the gas tank fairing instead of painted gas tank where gas tank is part of part of the body work, so if you drop it and put it a dent in the gas tank you aren't stuck with a dented gas tank, just slap on a new fairing over it, wonder why other manufacturers haven't caught on yet, just seems much more practical from a cosmetic stand point, no dent pulling no repainting

haha I just bought my 3rd 05 Repsol after having 2 stolen from me in Los Angeles (now in Texas) and you just made me run out to my garage to check my VIN number...
I love mine, the comments made about no storage, high foot pegs, and no magnetic tank for bags are pointless really lets not forget this is an out and out sports bike.If I want to feel comfortable and go on holidays the blade doesn't get a look in,thats what I bought an old 1200 faired bandit for, perfect!
I'm just about to purchase an 07 RR. I currently have an 06 SV1K and looking forward to the upgrade! After watching this video and many others on the Honda, it's definitely the right move/buy. I'm looking forward to how the front steering damper comes into play at speed and cornering!
Old faithful lol, I’ve had mine almost ten years. I agree that it has clunky shifting and you have to stay on top of clutch maintenance. Besides the stator going out every couple of years it’s a tank. I think I only have 12k on mine.
Bought mine brand new 0mi on it in 2004. I don't feel the clunkiness in the gears but that's me been riding the same bike since new. I'm tall so the weight forward kills my wrist. long distance rides suck if they don't have twistes. But overall love my 04 1000rr
hey, i like ur reviews and ur scope... I think going fwd, you should put a current bike side by side and it gives that perfect effect of the old and new review that u are already doing. Good job tho...
I noticed you stated this bike had "20k miles on the clock", however your odometer reads 7k miles. either way, love the used bike reviews! when is the next video coming?!!!!
I think I would choose the CBR for its high build quality and proven history of reliability. The suspension is superior on the Honda as well. However, the ZX10R isn't a bad machine and it definitely wins in all-out power.
Very beautiful, this bike. How does it behave in relation to 954 and 1000 06-07? there are many differences between these machines. I know that from 954 to 1000 everything has been changed. But in practice, walking in them, can many differences be felt? the 954, looking, looks smaller, lighter, compact and fun, and it also has a descending object door under the back seat. Anyway, for Sunday rides and quick rides, which one would be the best?
I had a 954 that got stolen which led me to buy my 1000RR in 04. It’s been a long time so my recall is very rudimentary. I do recall a couple of things that stood out. 1000RR had a less peaky torque curve so much more street friendly. Having HESD was confidence inspiring and bike felt very stable. Had handlebar shakes a couple of times on the 954. I loved the mass centralization design of the 1000RR. The bike didn’t feel like it wanted to tip in on a low speed turn like other bikes I had ridden around that time.
You make good reviews, but I think it would help if you actually showed a little more of its performance. Like 0-60 and the acceleration speeds after60mph
Confused as to why a "thin" "scalpel" doesn't make sense on the street. From my point of view that's exactly what you need in traffic - something nimble you can use to weave between cars (I don't even mean lane splitting, although that is a factor too). Track on the other hand, go as wide as you like.
I love these bikes but the 06-07 is my favourite you can beat them to hell and back and they will just ask for more. Highly recommended machine for anyone looking for a great sport bike that won't break the bank, is reliable , fast and will chew up miles with bliss. A well-maintained example can go into the 200k mile category without much going wrong.
those are great too. same bike essentially. a bit upgraded. but for me, the styling took a small hit when they indented the nose and made the side fairings smaller. plus i like the sharp lines of the 04-05 but to each their own. one thing i think most might agree with is 2004-2007 blades were the best years.
I love repsol 2005 i have one original since new but after riding a 2007 zx10 like urs in green. I realized how much honda is behind not only speed but finish and bodywork. Cbr also burns em starters like a mofo. But ok for commute. I love that bike but i am hooked on the green after riding zx10
Anybody know how many were produced in 2007? I'm about to go check out bike this weekend and wanted to make sure the vin is within the limited number produced.
Do the oem farings have anything like a vin sticker where you can tell if they are original to bike? I find on liter bikes they shift to 2nd much smoother at higher rpms.
The worst aspect of the design was the Front Indicators which are guaranteed to crack the fairing mid panels in the event of a tip over. If you replace the muffler - go titanium with a little adhesive heat shielding and a de-cat mid pipe. Then you can pull a lot of the underseat shielding out and not worry too much about the pipe cooking your backside. Also, the rear shocks on the 04 to 07 gen CBR1KRR's were garbage, replacement needed if looking to track the bike. Thrown in a decent sized rear tyre as well 190/55 or even a 200/55 - who needs traction control when you have good rubber. I have a 04 of which I've owned all it's life - done near 96k kms on it and it still goes strong. It is a pig to work on but Honda's are, not as easy as Suzuki's s or Kawasaki's. I also have a ZX10R Gen 4 which I really like and track, hate the TC and engine map electronics. Ride the ZX10R on Full Power even in very poor weather but without a ECU Flash - you keep defaulting to TC1 setting which is ok but shifting is much easier with TC turned off, just that you have to turn it off every time you start the bike up. Wish Sport Bikes would keep it simple - ditch the aids and let us riders ride. The 1KRR up till the more recent models are the last of that generation of bikes.
I got my 05 in 2008. Its a great bike, but All this driving in this neighborhood.... did you get it out of 2nd gear? I have absolutely no need for a newer bike. As a matter of fact, I just did oil, coolant, front and rear brakes, new chain and sprockets in the past 2 weeks. Mine is black and silver. IM looking at new plastics this winter, either Red, white and blue or that gorgeous blue and yellow.

Great bikes...like the repsol colors and well built.
You make good reviews, but I think it would help if you actually showed a little more of its performance. Like 0-60 and the acceleration speeds after60mph
Wow Kool review on Honda!
i just blew up my 07 repsol 1000rr this morning, currently mourning the loss
lol blew it up, how did you manage that bro? threw a con-rod?
Confused as to why a "thin" "scalpel" doesn't make sense on the street. From my point of view that's exactly what you need in traffic - something nimble you can use to weave between cars (I don't even mean lane splitting, although that is a factor too). Track on the other hand, go as wide as you like.
I don't know why north America got issued with those terrible old skool indicators?
Ur saying kawasaki has a better finish than honda. U smoking some crazy shit bruv
My neighbour has the same one. Loved all fireblades up to this shape, went downhill then sadly :(
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but didn't SP version have lower front clip ons and a few other little differences other than just the plastic?
31k miles on mile, still running strong
Anybody know how many were produced in 2007? I'm about to go check out bike this weekend and wanted to make sure the vin is within the limited number produced.
The price of this and 954 are same, pratcly
954 or 1000 04-05?
Hi! Can u please do a Yamaha R1 04’ thanks!!!
Or someone brushing past them. I've replaced 2 before fitting flush versions.
Could you recommend a site for oem plastics?
Planning to.buy a 1000rr 2005 29k kms. What things would you suggest to check.
TOO MANY BIKES TOO LITTLE TIME AND TOO LITTLE MONEY :( NICE BIKE BUD 😎😍🏆
Just seen this vid!!! Dealer near me has 2005 Repsol. Ask is $13,500!!!! 2200 miles on it. Thinking about it🧐🧐🧐🧐
