The added value of the Draft boxes is the ability to crack them open and enjoy playing with them. Cracking Set boxes and seeing piles of reprints that have lost most of their value just feels bad. A draft night with old friends is priceless. I'd trade Set boxes at a discount to get Draft boxes to have fun with down the road.

MY favorite cards that I own are 4 (disintegrate) Alpha cards that were so heavily played in the 90s, with no sleeves, that when I got them in the early 2000s they looked like they were actually disintegrating. It always gets a laugh when I use one in commander.

My stack is my stack and there is lots of respect to Rudy and his stack. Rudy helps me to know these cards will have value and very may well be already in their 40% down swing, I love the way they look and feel, they give me real nostalgia, and I am supporting my local game store culture in the process. I think people will always love vintage I just don't think there's enough people willing or ABLE to spend the price for it for it to go up all that much from where it is now.
Funny thing is. I'd still rather own that beat up mox emerald. Over any new sets ever made that came out after revised. Just because of nostalgia. I have zero interest in new magic at all. I only actually care about oldschool magic.
I wonder how long until sealed Magic Online redemption sets take off. They don't have great visual appeal, and there's no uncertainty about what they contain, but they're really compact, the supply is tiny in comparison to everything else, and there's just something cool about holding one.

Old, used, but okay cards have a lot of history and have been passed down countless times and hands. I love them.

Lol I would get that one graded for a 1 as well just to have it. Everyone cares about the 9-10s and understandably so. But a one... So many of those have been tossed in the trash over the decades. Getting it slabbed would be preserving a piece of history from the other end of things.

@14:48 Not sure I agree with Rudy on the Commander desk sets. I only have a small set of Commander deck sets and they have done nothing for years. Unlike Collectors Boxes, I feel like WoTC can print the commander deck sets to the moon and has done so since the Warhammer ones went crazy.

Since these cards are in your 'Forever Collection', you really should tell us what you paid for these collections. (Since you shouldn't care if we know).
In past videos he has claimed to spend around 60% of market based on condition. People sell because he will buy collections as a single transaction where he pays for shipping and insurance, assuming the risk.
