Z3N Bluster Nah, this one is much cooler imo. I know the Calsonic livery is iconic for multiple reasons, but ever since they showed this casting I've personally been wanting the hks livery... but hey, if you wanna leave it on the pegs, you know... I wouldn't complain ;)
I don’t understand people are going bananas Over the HKS skyline in this one... it looks like shit compared to some of the others, like the AMG MERC. It’s friggin beautiful to see out of the blister. Same with the MOMO 190 e. But ya a calsonic would be killer..
Zil Co Funny how beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I think the 190 looks undesirable in momo livery. Momo works on some cars but it really doesn't work on everything, imo. Same with gulf livery... people put it on everything but to me it really doesn't work on everything. I wasn't a fan of the mustang in the gulf car culture release, but the mclaren looks incredible.
I was always bummed that I never found the original 190E; I got every other car in the set. Closest I came to finding them were 2 remnants of the packaging of 190E's at a Stop&Shop. I hope the people that steal these cars are children, because if they're adults that's disturbing.
I've had similar experiences where I found all the blister packs cracked halfway open on like 5 datsun wagons from the 50th anniversary series at my local shoprite...ALL OF THEM. It seemed as if the culprit bought as many as he could afford and didn't want anyone else to have one in mint packaging. It's more than likely the case because I bought ONE the day before and the rest of the pegwarmers were untouched. It's sad that this once great childhood hobby has been ruined by ebay and those sweaty neckbeard scaplers. Honestly, who risks incarceration for damaging store merchandise for a few measly bucks???
Notice how the R8 has more detail on the front than the previous version and also the headlights are bigger and more accurate to real life. This may be my favourite model of the set. Not to say the other 4 are not good, all of them are great but the one model I'm deviating towards is the R8.
i like how they painted the front canards on the audi in black on this version. nice details. going to toss my mainline mercedes gt3s to my son to make room for this open track one. also cant wait for the hks r32. ive seen the car in person in real life and its one of my dream cars to own so ill be glad to have the mini version for the time being. nice set. cant wait to grab it!
Wow thank you for previewing these. They look even better than the photos that I’ve seen. That NSX color is sick! And the HKS deco looks amazing. I was a little worried the Audi and AMG were too plain but they look great as well. They all look great. Can’t wait for these to hit the shelves in the States.
Excellent set overall. My favorite is the Acura NSX GT3 and my 2nd favorite is the Skyline R32, the tampo work on that R32 is nicely done but a bit too busy for me. The rest are no slouches either (especially the Mercedes AMG GT3). The artwork is impressive as ever. Thanks for the preview John, definitely getting this set.

I went into a Toys r Us last night and was about to leave without anything and low and behold there's a complete set on the pegs.Almost just took the AMG and NSX but decided the whole set was good on close inspection so I took them all. Very nice close up. Not sure if i'll open them for now . But i really want to.
Zil Co i think production numbers went up. people are willing to pay 60 bucks a set for "preorder". then a month after release youll see 2 or 3 sets of exact same series just sitting at any store in the area. like i said previously ill wait and buy the whole set for 35 at the store
The Skyline is great.....at a distance. Up close you really see the lack of resolution on the deco. I refer to it as the "ink jet tampo" because it looks like it was printed on a cheap ink jet printer. Hopefully they are working on perfecting it.
j-Tube That is how all hot wheels premium have been recently... They seem to be printing them, instead of using decals like before. the upside is that they are very consistent, the downside is the appearance up close
Yes indeed we have been lucky to see this latest Car Culture Open Track early here in NZ. Totally agree with you on the new RR wheels looking awesome and the R32 being such a fantastic casting (both the Fast Imports black one and the latest HKS release).
Great set, and i can see a bump in details for the Audi (notably on the front). Love the Skyline also but come on! There is nothing amazing about Mattel being able to do such a thing. Not at that price. Majorette has been doing it for years now with their Rally models, and they do it better while charging less.

The Audi R8 is a awesome car. I have yet to see one on the pegs. It took me 7 months to find the Audi wagon. This entire set is awesome. Beautiful racing machines. I do hope Mattel comes out with a "Stock" Set. Not stock cars but regular stock colors, no crazy tampos except for headlights and tailights. Have a JDM and a American set. Maybe a muscle and a obscure car set. I'd love to see a Gremlin X, a 75 Cutlass Supreme, heck even a Pacer X from AMC. Granted they are oddball cars but the stock aspect might be cool. Or maybe leave that to Auto World? Just a thought.

Sorry to comment again but that Nissan is wild. The amount of "passes" on a tampo machine if that's how this was done has to be unreal. At first I was kinda NAH WAY TOO BUSY. But as I looked on the turnstyle thingy it got me. This car is amazing. One thing, the rims look like they could glow in the dark. Not sure how I'd feel if that was the case. I'm sure it would look sick but real? Anyway GREAT review and if I see 1 or 2 of these I'll be surprised.

the HKS R32 skyline is based on the actual car. everything is right even the five spokes on the wheels, but the real one wasn't deep dish.

I don't love this entire set, but I LOVE the 190E and the R32 is not bad. The FnF R32 is definitely and probably always will be the best.

dont forget both R8's rear deco are actually incomplete which is kind of valid considering how the casting was made and the tampos they planned for

They NAILED the tailights on the AMG-GT, the Audi and the Acura look amazing, and I love the deco and wheels on the R-32!
