Here's why I think Mario and Bowser fight at the end: There IS an Audience. Remember, (In Super Mario 64, at least,) You're always followed by a Latiku, Filming Mario along the journey, as well as the fight with Bowser. It's not too far off to assume that, Whatever the Latiku's filming COULD be broadcast, and Residents of the Mushroom Kingdom are watching, Cheering Mario on, as he defeats Bowser.

Also, Peach is able to defend herself since in Super Princess Peach she did kick Bowser's ass so it's all just an acting); - Bowser gets insurance for the castles destroyed by Mario (and he can sell the property afterwards); - Mario gets lots of coins in his journey as a payment; - The fights are there just to make the acting believable; - After the fight, Mario uses Bowser's fire breath to make pizza for everybody.

Why would Bowser do this if he just wants Peach? 2) New Super Luigi U. Is Luigi also in on this? How about the toads? 3) The Super Mario Bros instruction manual states that Bowser turned all the toads into blocks and kidnapped Peach because only she could undo his dark magic. If this were true, why would he do this when he knows Mario would be going around killing the Toads? She'd be pretty pissed if her subjects were slaughtered because of Bowser's magic. 4) Rosalina refers to Peach as Mario's special one. I can understand others having the misconception that Peach and Mario are into each other, but Rosalina seems a lot smarter than that (plus the implication that Peach is actually her mother does give her a more justified reason for thinking this). Ultimately, it's not a bad theory, but it's not exactly sound either.

Either one more kidnapping is somehow enough to sweep Peach offof her feet, or she has to have a falling out with Mario, allowing Bowser to step in. Both of these always bothered me. Your theory though paints Mario in a good light, which I like. I even read somewhere that Mario lets Bowser come racing and playing sports... because he does see him as his friend. I don't know how canon that is, but that, combined with your theory, would make for a very interesting alternate universe. It isn't likely in the games, but I do like theories like this from time to time
Bowser doesn't really want to kill, he just wants to rule the kingdom with Peach! Worse villains in Mario games actually want to wipe out existence, possess characters or attempt to kill any of the characters. This is very explicit in the Mario RPGs. Any time Mario or Bowser defeat one another, they just faint. Bowser can survive lava but will be very injured and would sit out for a while. It's a game to those three.

So my theory is that Peach and Bowser have this weird fetish game going on where Bowser "kidnaps" Peach and they in turn hook up as Peach pretends to be a damsel in distress (when in reality, she's more than capable of handling her own with ease).
I definitely agree that Bowser and Peach are dating. Peach spends more time with Bowser than with anyone else. I don't know about Mario and Bowser being friends. I think he's just a clueless white knight who is jealous and thinks he can win Peach over by beating up the guy she loves. Why don't Peach and Bowser just go public and tell everyone the abductions were faked and they just want to spend time together? Because it would be hell for their images. Peach would be publicly executed for secretly aiding and abeting a known criminal, and Bowser would be outed as a fraud.
Not only that, but Bowser would also be fired from his job as a bouncer in the Villain Pub (that's a reference to something, if you know what I am referencing you are awesome).
I've theorized that Peach and Bowser were set to be in an arranged marriage, but Peach didn't want to marry the ugly king koppa. Even if he was wealthy and have a wonderful kingdom. She was shallow enough to want only looks and beauty. Because she ran out of this marriage, it was grounds for war between the two kingdoms. Boswer feels Peach is his wife by right of law, and for their time he'd be right. If going by Kings and Kingdoms, Peach would be his 'property' in these times. And would be fated to be his wife regardless. Though i headcanon Boswer is actually a very considerate husband and would do anything to make Peach happy. I the end the war between the two kingdoms was because Peach didn't want to go through with her father's orders and marry someone. But she plays it off as she's being kidnapped against her will.

There is three reasons that this is actually not true. Number one is that peach has kissed Mario about five times.two is that super princess peach FIGHTS bowser. And three is the exact same reason as proto marios

Rosalina is the child of Peach and who idk. Peach and Bowser are both rulers, i.e. rich people. Maybe they're bored and the whole kidnapping thing is just another game. They do play tennis together.

sometimes I like to daydream of the paper Mario series and saying that the whole "bowser kidnapping and Mario saving" act is just a little skit to do and peach, bowser, and Mario are just friends on set.
Paper Mario gives a blow to this theory though. You can see that peach tries to help Mario even when there is no need, since no spectators and whatnot. Again I like the theory it just doesnt work with the evidence given in the games.

What if I could tell you a third reason on why King Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach? The theory stems from two sources, namely from some British comics about Super Mario Brothers and from Super Mario Sunshine. In the former, Bowser had mentioned a person by the name of Clawdia Koopa as his wife and in the latter, Bowser Jr. (who also made his debut here) refers to Princess Peach as his mama. The two things together seems to indicate a much darker and disturbing reason for why Bowser wants Peach and that is that Bowser is a widower and that Bowser Jr. is the only child (that is that we know about so far) that his wife Clawdia left behind before she died, most likely in childbirth. Furthermore, apparently, Princess Peach resembles Clawdia, thus Bowser Jr. mistakes her as his mother, never mind that he was an egg at the time, that is, if Koopa are like turtles and are also laid as eggs, and that Bowser, knowing that Princess Peach was single, and that possibly had known her either personally or through reputation, knew that she was a lot like his departed wife, thus he knew that she would be a good stepmother for his son and that she could heal the pain of the loss of his first wife. I am not sure if my theory holds well, but I think that if what I said is true, as it could very well likely be so if Nintendo Company Limited were consulted about the matter, then they may very well go that route and what happened in Super Mario Sunshine might be the very catalyst to get things started on that path.

This is seems like it could very well be true but people are forgetting a key fact about Paper Mario. Everyone says "Bowser literally tried to kill Mario" and that is a good point but now that Paper Jam has released, it proves that the Paper Mario series isn't canon. And It's Paper. There are a few big flaws with this theory such as Mario killing the enemies, and Bowser being killed in lava. Also that his plan in Galaxy wasn't about Peach, it was about the Galaxy. However, your theory does hold some merit towards the end, because Bowser finally reaching his breaking point would explain his more harsh actions in recent games, like time traveling to Yoshi's Island to kill Mario and actively attacking the players instead of playing along in Mario Party 10.

Mario and Bowser never teamed up in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Bowser didn't kidnap Peach at all Grodus did Peach and Grodus did not know each other until that game and Peach helped TEC find out about love Bowser didn't just want Peach he wanted the Crystal Stars so he could take over the world. Kammy Koopa told Bowser that the X-nauts kidnapped Peach and that Mario was looking for the Crystal Stars. Bowser didn't know that behind the door was the Shadow Queen so he looked for the Crystal Stars but instead of finding Mario and teaming up with him Mario and Bowser have fights in both Glitzville and Palace of Shadow why wouldn't he team up with Mario? In the Chapter 5 Interlude with Bowser he fights Lord Crump since they both know information about the Crystal Stars. This theory I kinda want to believe but it is really confusing.
It would be funny to think that mario is not only kind-hearted/willing to sacrifice himself for others, but is also doing it because he somehow stumbled into this how you would say "nightmarish landscape of trippyness". He eats a few mushrooms not feeling the effects just yet, stumbles upon Bowser and the "magical world of the Mushroom Kingdom". He says "HOLY SHIT A F@CKING DRAGON"!. Bowser coming up to mario saying "listen I know this might sound weird, but hear me out: There's this princess that I like and she likes me back, But can't kinda be together for certain reasons. I need you to be "the hero" while I pretend to "kidnap" the princess. Mario Kinda freaking out at this point, calmly says "okay I will-a do it". When we get to the point where we hear his voice,he already is feeling the effect of the mushroom and acknowledges that he's getting something out of it (like a house, food, money, and being famous (also luigi's there too being the younger brother thinking that this all real lol)). He becomes "wacky/looney" jumping around like a maniac, causing mild damage where ever he goes... while still retaining the "hero status" kinda. He shouts YA-HOO IT'S A ME A MARIO. YIPPEE! to let everyone who he's a cheery guy while bowser sets it all up so he and Peach can live together in secret... kinda. XD

I kinda just took the "mario is a play/tv show" as the reason for everything. It's a lot simpler.
Mario is being manipulated by Princess Toadstool who (see Game Theorist) is evil, and being controlled by mushrooms. Bowser kidnaps her to send the mushroom kingdom into a panic so that he can take over it and protect everything. Luigi will give Waluigi some good advice and they'll team up to save the world.Daisy was saved by Mario in the game that she was introduced in, and Jumpman and whatever her name is that starts with P. are Marios parents. Rosalina is the child of Peach and who idk. Her brother wears a green hat, so it could be that luigi is the father, or that Mario is Luigis dad and the Luigi we know is actually from a different time like Rosalina. So what I'm saying is that Luigi should be an astronaut who saves the world and has ptsd from his adventures and thats why he's so scared all the time, he then befriends Waluigi, and goes back in time to save the world from his mother who is being manipulated or will be. dun dun dun.

I do think it is a big stretch to be honest, especially when you were talking about how bowser just fights because he wants to keep peach, I feel that the dialogue bowser says in some of the games kind of debunks that part and a lot of this, I also feel that peach wouldn't be so happy to leave bowser and wouldn't kiss Mario and Mario wouldn't really blush from it, does bowser love peach? Maybe, does peach love bowser? I doubt it

This theory is incorrect, because in paper Mario, Mamar says that Bowser has wished for princess Peach to like him. Why would Bowser wish for Peach to like him if they already have a secret relationship!?

Paper Mario gives a blow to this theory though. You can see that peach tries to help Mario even when there is no need, since no spectators and whatnot. Again I like the theory it just doesnt work with the evidence given in the games.

What if I could tell you a third reason on why King Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach? The theory stems from two sources, namely from some British comics about Super Mario Brothers and from Super Mario Sunshine. In the former, Bowser had mentioned a person by the name of Clawdia Koopa as his wife and in the latter, Bowser Jr. (who also made his debut here) refers to Princess Peach as his mama. The two things together seems to indicate a much darker and disturbing reason for why Bowser wants Peach and that is that Bowser is a widower and that Bowser Jr. is the only child (that is that we know about so far) that his wife Clawdia left behind before she died, most likely in childbirth. Furthermore, apparently, Princess Peach resembles Clawdia, thus Bowser Jr. mistakes her as his mother, never mind that he was an egg at the time, that is, if Koopa are like turtles and are also laid as eggs, and that Bowser, knowing that Princess Peach was single, and that possibly had known her either personally or through reputation, knew that she was a lot like his departed wife, thus he knew that she would be a good stepmother for his son and that she could heal the pain of the loss of his first wife. I am not sure if my theory holds well, but I think that if what I said is true, as it could very well likely be so if Nintendo Company Limited were consulted about the matter, then they may very well go that route and what happened in Super Mario Sunshine might be the very catalyst to get things started on that path.

So, Peach want stop Bowser's plan, just like Mario Bros. And Bowser want to kill Mario, because he believes, that if Mario is dead, Peach starts love Bowser. Well, that's terrible idea thourgh, because nobody wants to go married with guy, who killed her ex-boyfriend, right? Sorry bad english.

This is seems like it could very well be true but people are forgetting a key fact about Paper Mario. Everyone says "Bowser literally tried to kill Mario" and that is a good point but now that Paper Jam has released, it proves that the Paper Mario series isn't canon. And It's Paper. There are a few big flaws with this theory such as Mario killing the enemies, and Bowser being killed in lava. Also that his plan in Galaxy wasn't about Peach, it was about the Galaxy. However, your theory does hold some merit towards the end, because Bowser finally reaching his breaking point would explain his more harsh actions in recent games, like time traveling to Yoshi's Island to kill Mario and actively attacking the players instead of playing along in Mario Party 10.

Mario and Bowser never teamed up in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Bowser didn't kidnap Peach at all Grodus did Peach and Grodus did not know each other until that game and Peach helped TEC find out about love Bowser didn't just want Peach he wanted the Crystal Stars so he could take over the world. Kammy Koopa told Bowser that the X-nauts kidnapped Peach and that Mario was looking for the Crystal Stars. Bowser didn't know that behind the door was the Shadow Queen so he looked for the Crystal Stars but instead of finding Mario and teaming up with him Mario and Bowser have fights in both Glitzville and Palace of Shadow why wouldn't he team up with Mario? In the Chapter 5 Interlude with Bowser he fights Lord Crump since they both know information about the Crystal Stars. This theory I kinda want to believe but it is really confusing.
I'm just going to believe that Mario is a nice guy, and not a lunatic.
It would be funny to think that mario is not only kind-hearted/willing to sacrifice himself for others, but is also doing it because he somehow stumbled into this how you would say "nightmarish landscape of trippyness".
He eats a few mushrooms not feeling the effects just yet, stumbles upon Bowser and the "magical world of the Mushroom Kingdom".

Bowser coming up to mario saying "listen I know this might sound weird, but hear me out: There's this princess that I like and she likes me back, But can't kinda be together for certain reasons. I need you to be "the hero" while I pretend to "kidnap" the princess.
Mario Kinda freaking out at this point, calmly says "okay I will-a do it". When we get to the point where we hear his voice,he already is feeling the effect of the mushroom and acknowledges that he's getting something out of it (like a house, food, money, and being famous (also luigi's there too being the younger brother thinking that this all real lol)).
He becomes "wacky/looney" jumping around like a maniac, causing mild damage where ever he goes... while still retaining the "hero status" kinda. He shouts YA-HOO IT'S A ME A MARIO. YIPPEE! to let everyone who he's a cheery guy while bowser sets it all up so he and Peach can live together in secret... kinda. XD
