That was a learning experience for me too, I've never done canister but I'd like to try some day.
..It does give you the Wrought Iron look. That can peeled off like the skin of a banana! Project done, lessons learned, that's a success...!
The fly press did a great job on that canister.
Something with a bit more squish would be nice, but I think I can make this work better next time

If you would twist it, there would be less probability of cracking in the pinching process. Also. twisting and restacking would've worked even better. And if you would elongate the starting billet, cut it in half and twist one half clockwize and another counterclockwize, and then cut them again and restack - that would result in the best outcome.
Doc, what did you use to "paint" the inside of the canister? "White out"?
White interior wall paint, just some old paint I had around. All you’re after is the titanium dioxide that makes it white, the binder burns out.
