Lisa, your videography of those layouts was amazing! It was as if you took me on an airplane ride and we were flying over actual places. If it weren't for the giant humans in the background I wouldn't have known otherwise.😂 And your music. Wow! Brought up so many emotions. Thanks again for a wonderful, albeit temporary, pause from reality. We all need that at times.
National Model Railroad Month? They should give us a National Model Railroad Holiday where we get a week off (paid holiday of course) to play with trains, attend model railroad events, ride excursion trains, etc. Just kidding. 😂 👏 😂 Trains, trains, trains...I LOVE 'em. I just went over my budget and added an HO brass PCC Car to my brass train collection. Model railroading is the greatest hobby in the world. I enjoyed watching this episode. 👍😊
You made me laugh. I'm self employed, so the idea of a paid holiday seems like an anomaly. Totally support your idea for a paid week off for National Model Railroad Month LOL Thank you, Everett : ) So glad you enjoyed this - and cool that you have a brass train collection.
Good day Lisa, so cool to see smoke, lights, people moving and moving vehicles. A lot of great engines and rolling stock. You can get some great ideas on building. Thanks for the fun video.
It is inspiring seeing what folks come up with! And yes, big fan of the forest fire - and that little moving truck! Not sure if you've already seen: ruclips.net/video/BHqfxNbC-Hw/видео.htmlsi=wqREnQh_fwx6lWj3
That was great to watch. Lots of different freight car and sceneries. Trucks moving on streets. Skiers on snow hills. Did you do line dancing? Thanks for the video.🚂 🕺🍁
@@RichardRyman I loved that truck on the move, and not sure if you caught the marching band just before it? Yes! 🤠👢 There’s more on that on my website’s home page / page with credits / bio ☺️
This video has me pumped up for Train Fest, that is if my job gives me the day off. Train Fest is the biggest model railroad convention in this country in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I always have a lot of fun when I go. Once again, another great video! I see all these layouts that are so much better than mine, and I ask myself, "How is it I can't get mine to look halfway decent, especially considering that I'm an artist?" Of course, I'm also very self critical of my work. But I will say, the layout I currently am working on is the one I've been most satisfied with of all layouts I've ever built. Truly an amazing hobby this is!
Hand drawn art, digital art, some painting, model railroad related art, and a lot of other things that involve creativity. I just love letting the creative me out.
Wonderful! So glad the hobby endures. History, engineering, carpentry and wiring. All good things to learn and grow with. Well done and thank you!🙏 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃
Speaking of wiring.. have you seen this yet? ruclips.net/video/BHqfxNbC-Hw/видео.htmlsi=wqREnQh_fwx6lWj3 Watch until the end, and you'll see the behind-the-scenes of the wiring / construction etc.
Having elements like smoke deflectors for fiery landscapes and technology that compels boats to travel around the layout just goes to show how much this hobby has grown from just being a big realistic train set. Also I spotted the Thomas And Friends Henry model with express coaches from tomix at 2:15
Amazing attention to detail. And yes! The smoke was made from oil diffusers ; ) So you can have a nice lavender scent going into the air while you wow folks with your layout.
Man, I haven't seen an AHM 0-4-0- "Docksider" since I was a teenager!! That, and a B&O "Big Six" 2-10-2 were my layout's prized possessions, growing up. Both are worth a small fortune, today.
Fun shots, Lisa. The beer train at 06:24 is my favorite. My beer train will be nowhere as colorful as this one! I like the heritage fleet covered hopper cars also, seen in many shots. Someone must have done those as one-offs? Not my cup of tea, but they represent a lot of work, talent and imagination!
@@blackhillsandeasternrailroad nice hearing about what you spotted and your favorites. My dad actually just got in a couple new custom run beer hopper cars that are really cool.
Nice to see your enthusiasm and lots of smiling faces on the other side of the pond. National Railroad Month sounds a great idea - International would be even better. Last month we had the hobby supporting World Mental Health day.
@@ProfPtarmigan you’re right! International would be better! And I’m really happy to hear that you had the hobby supporting world mental health day. In what country was that? Not sure if you’ve seen my Train Talk episode at the Southern CA Railway Museum, but Marni speaks to mental health a bit / trains.
@@LisaKEntertainment I live in the UK and we have a thriving model railway (railroad) tradition that gained new followers during the COVID lockdown. Local Model Railway shows are frequent and easy to get to, there are many permanent exhibitions, and there are large events annually in the main national exhibition centres attracting between 10 to 20 thousand visitors each. We have dozens of heritage/preserved railway lines operating peak season running (I think I have been to about 25 so far with plenty more to do) and many railway museums at the main railway centres around the country including the large National Railway Museum. I had watched parts 1 and 2 of your Southern CA Railway Museum series and now watched part 3 to see your talk with Marni, what an inspiration for all things railway. @ I put so much into the episodes that are more interactive with folks and weave a story, but it definitely seems like a lot of people really enjoy just watching trains going around, which also happens to be less tedious in terms of editing and shooting. So in that way it’s a win win. But mostly, or at least half of the time, I plan to stick to episodes with more depth. Thanks for the feedback - and for watching!
