The new 2020 Lincoln Aviator is a midsize luxury SUV brimming with upscale design, features, and technology. Available in twin-turbocharged gas and plug-in hybrid versions, the all-new Aviator provides 3-row, 7-passenger seating and up to 77.7 cubic feet of cargo space in a sumptuous cabin.
We drove both versions of the new 2020 Aviator in Napa Valley, California, and then took a road trip to Los Angeles in the standard gas version. Tested in Aviator Black Label trim, the fun-to-drive SUV proved quick, comfortable, and capable in both the city and the country. Watch the video to learn more about the new Lincoln Aviator.

What a handsome suv inside and out. THIS is how you do American luxury!
Very well-executed SUV! Especially the interior, which brilliantly resembles the Navigator's world-class interior design!
I'm usually turned off by all these Crossovers and SUVs saturating our highways, but this is one of the few exceptions!!
Another amazing SUV from Lincoln. We have two MKZ's and love them. Both have been great cars.
Mike Hoard I have a ‘17 Reserve in midnight sapphire with the 20 spoke 19” anthracite wheels. I bought the 3.0 AWD because I wanted all 400 horsepower and this car is an animal. Not only is it beautiful but it drives great and has been such an awesome car. I’ve owned eight Lincolns and this is my favorite.
Same here, I love my 2013 MKZ Hybrid. Still working great, no issues, have 127K miles on it, the only regular maintenance I did was two times tires changed. Still original brakes!!
Absolutely beautiful. The engine is lovely.
Wow...that exterior styling looks classy and elegant.
Good video. I really like what lincoln is doing.
A great, beautiful American SUV !!! Have a 2019 mkc and love it !!
JerseyJoe 😆
Its a looker for sure! I hope it lives up to those looks!
That's a nice looking SUV.
Good review!!
This has to be the most elegant and stunning SUV being sold today..
Thanks Wardlaw.
I have one. It is, Black Label, Grand Touring, pristine white, flight theme, luggage tan interior, every option available including rear seat entertainment. Yeah, it is a 6 figure car, but well worth it.
Very nice
Explorer ST 3.0 twin turbo 400 hp . So it does share the Powertrain with one of the Explorer Trims ...
Good job, very nice car. I prefer the interior to BMW, Mercedes and Audi.
$81 000 is steep for a Lincoln, but remember: after several weeks of high demand, there will eventually be cash on the hood to move these units. As well, there is always a segment who can afford a BMW, Mercedes or Ranger Rover but feel they are too ostentatious so will go for one of these instead.
$81k for the top of the line black label , you can get a nicely loaded one in the mid 60’s and believe me the Navigator has been out for almost two years and can go as high as $104k and still sells for MSRP , at least at our dealership , yes I sell them and people know a good product and a great value specially when you compare all the features , engine power E.T.C to the German luxury competitors for the price the Lincoln is going to be the best value
@@fthahim Not paying that kind of money for a Lincoln regardless... Very good product but priced out... I wish they would take a page out of Genesis book!!!
@@emekaiheanacho6971 you don't have to. Plenty of buyers have already lined up
@@fthahim let them line up...it's their money 🤷🤷
@@fthahim Things will depreciate like mad
Wow wow
Why is he humpin on the steering wheel tho?
The Price!! 😳
Welcome home, American luxury
The Price???..
81,000$ i almost spit my drink out 😃
I want this car 😭😭😭
Am tired of saying this... I think the Aviator is Top Shelf. But for the love of God, Not everyone wants an SUV. Where’s my Luxury Coupe Lincoln?
I wouldn't cross shop this with an FWD based crossover. It's apples to oranges.
So it has standard AND optional AWD. Now that’s impressive!!
It's too bad Lincoln can't seem to get it's brand going. They're really making great looking cars.
You can't get a brand going without making a great product. I'm glad they're spending more money on the product. They're patient and Ford has deep pockets.
Just wanted to saw that , in my opinion, the car is extremely quiet. I don’t know what this guy is talking about with the noise level.
Awesome but the price🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🤔
I have an Infiniti JX35. I love everything about it except the acceleration. The Lexus RXL was too small, I didn't like the Audi Q7, the Buick Enclave wasn't luxury enough, the new Cadillac XT6 is just too plain, and the BMW X7 is way out of my price range. However, Lincoln is going to make me trade my car in for the Aviator.
I agree with the XT6. I'm a Cadillac guy at the moment (Wife has XT5 and I've the Escalade 2019, yes I preferred it to the Navigator). I prefer simple interiors. However, this Aviator, I could totally see me owning it. I showed it to my wife when it came out and she much preferred the looks than the XT5. But they are in very different price ranges and segment. I think it's the first Lincoln product that made me feel like owning it.
Better than trashrover
Absolutely stunning inside and out. However the Base trim's interior material quality is not that much more special than say the Hyundai Palisade Limited's interior (which costs $45,000) although the Aviator looks like it costs thousands more on the outside.
Genesis gv80 will be about $20-$30k less fully loaded.
We are talking about real cars , not comedy
get the price down to 55k and possibly u will see some sales, or else shut the front door
Starting price is 50k.
Satish Inventory is low on them right now and they can't keep one on the lot for more than two days. It is expected to be their biggest seller. I think that they took their time and did everything right on it, well maybe not the slightly laggy infotainment, but otherwise fit and finish appear to be excellent.
Daniel Blaney Except starting price is actually $53k and the standard trim base model is stripped down of nearly everything except the engine and 10-speed auto transmission. Looks *nothing* like the one in the video.
All i meant when i said 55k was, if lincoln aims to compete with Audi/BMW etc, it should start with knocking off Acura and Lexus off that pedestal.
competing merely on Price point and having quality without increasing reliability is just wrong strategy.
i got a new rx350l 45 days back, this wasnt even in my radar for consideration, says a lot, as i shopped for 7 months.
@@DanielBlaney I think he was talking about the Black Label model here at $81K!
Could be a GTA V car lol
Lease a handsome Aviator, or buy a mundane Lexus or Acura? A family member owned a MDX and it survived 200k miles and life on mountain trails to ski cabins occasionally. Not certain Lincoln will provide that peace of mind.
If I'm purchasing I would take the Lexus, if leasing then this Lincoln.
Z A86 hello there, we meet again
Yeah... I wouldn't worry about it. That's a really weird thing to say. Ever hear of the Ford brand? Most are at LEAST relatively reliable. I think it'll make it to your cabin without getting out to push it. Good heavens.
My sister just sold her MDX with close to 200k miles. That was part of the reason why I went with the MDX. If I made a little more, the Lincoln would certainly be considered.
You messed up by comparing it to a explorer . $887
I hate hate hate that black piano panel shit suck a rip off u feel I know it's call Black label but if I'm buying a Lincoln avatar I want wood grain
Yea but 90K is X7 territory, and if you don't need the last row, you might as well get a fully optioned X5 that can go 0-60 in under 5 seconds.
Sam Sharma similarly equipped x7 is going over 100k
Khafre Yes it will, emphasis on OVER 100k.
Sam The X7 and X5 are really different. The X7, they wanted to be a really comfortable cruiser, and that is not what an X5 is. So I think that the X7 and the Aviator are comparable.
0-60 in under 5 seconds...to the mechanic
Khafre Bevins the BMW X7 is also a lot nicer, larger, and offers a turbocharged v8 engine. The gauge cluster is so much better and user friendly, and the infotainment system in the X7 is light years ahead of the outdated laggy Lincoln sync3 in the aviator. There are videos of the aviator infotainment system online and it’s very slow and has a horribly delayed response. It’s slower than my MyLink system that was in my Chevrolet Impala. It’s sad especially for the price Lincoln is asking for the Aviator. The X7 on the other hand is worth every penny.
Not sure if I can this attractive; I stick with my beautiful new 2019 Acura MDX! It has better interior for sure; after all it an Acura. Exterior of the MDX is modern looking with the sloping rear. That why the MDX is still the selling so well! Just the most advanced technology in a midsize crossover under $500K!
If you think the MDX is better looking, you obviously are a man of taste- -all of it bad.
American chassis is better.
Reliability, Reliability, Reliability ?????
The only million dollar question not answered,
I think people who have 90k to spend on a vehicle don't care about reliability, and acura and lexus(the "reliable brands" in the segment) are by no means competitors to this vehicle
Lincoln has been on a roll with reliability lately. If your asking about the Aviators reliability then it's pretty hard to say for a vehical that has just hit dealers
Probably going to be leased anyway.
@@edwinalfredo310 maybe u should talk to someone who can afford a 90k car. Typical liberal thinking.
Actually with all that high tech s#%t something’s bound to go wrong. Can’t wait to get mine!
Pricey $$$$$
$81,000 for a Black Label and concierge service?? $93,000 for an additional electric motor?? Smh. *Now* will people stop comparing this so closely to the Cadillac XT6??
2020 Cadillac XT6 and 2021 Cadillac Escalade will both sell very well. But the Lincoln Aviator will cannibalize Navigator sales.
mybro727 you’re right, Cadillac can’t touch this
Christopher Lewis No, what’s sad is you actually believe that for $93,000 Cadillac “can’t touch this”. Cadillac already “touched this” back in 2015. For that kind of money you can buy a top trim Cadillac Escalade Platinum with a naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 420hp on demand without any turbos and mated to GM’s buttery smooth 10-speed auto transmission with towing capabilities of over 8,000 lbs. The Aviator doesn’t even offer a V8 in any trim/configuration or a naturally aspirated V6, nor can it move that kind of weight.
The Cadillac XT6 is just as nice but for $20,000 less. It may be less powerful lack soft closing doors, a unreliable air ride suspension and a rear ventilated seat, but it has a naturally aspirated V6 producing over 300 horsepower and a twin-clutch AWD system that completely outsmarts the Lincoln Aviator’s. XT6 boasts a luxurious interior, full of technology and a overall very refined ride for thousands less. There’s nothing revolutionary about this Lincoln to justify your statement.
We live in a world where a Chevrolet (C8) is just as luxurious as a Lincoln, if not more luxurious. I wouldn’t underestimate Cadillac with this redesigned 2021 Escalade if I were a Lincoln fanboy.
Christopher Lewis you care to elaborate.? This Aviator is literally the best thing the Lincoln company has to offer to the luxury market, it’s better than their own flagship Navigator and it even costs just as much as one. We have yet to see what Cadillac’s best will be for 2020-2022. We don’t have the $93,000 RWD Cadillac competitor to compare this to just yet. So please explain what you mean and how you could be so sure
@@mybro727 Yeah I've 2019 ESV Platinum, I prefered it to the new navigator on my test drives. Later when I saw the new Aviator I thought to myself, well maybe I could downsize this look great. Then noticed it was almost the same price.. No thanks.
mybro727 it’s not just as nice as this, go watch reviews on the xt6, it’s the most bland car Cadillac has made to date. It has an 8 inch touch screen when most of the completion offers atleast 10 inches or up. And the gauges aren’t even fully digital, most of the competition is offering fully digital displays. And the Escalade is outdated as hell, the technology is old and still has Cadillac’s old infotainment system with the capacitive touch buttons. The interior quality is trash, it creaks and makes noises when you go over bumps. Lincoln won this round through and through
Nice but sorry I have 81k better to spend on other then a Lincoln
What would you get in this segment?
Way too expensive..
Look like a Range Rover brother
I could buy something way cooler with that 80k, and for that reason, im out.
Car manufacturers should refrain from building vehicles with 3rd row seats!!!!!!!!
Any car with a 3rd row can be optioned to not have one
Car manufacturers should distribute free birth control
if that's the same 10 speed in the explorer... no thanks
An $81,000 Ford ugh no thanks.
$81K for any vehicle is ridiculous...they all depreciate, some faster than others.
It's a FORD Explorer, PERIOD!
LaVelle Hardin no mate, your wrong, the chassis may be the same but the car is totally different
New Lincoln cars have nothing in common, some are minor tho
Every carmakers shares platform Lexus with Toyota. Audi with Volkswagen.
That ugly plastic mess is an $80,000+ vehicle??? No wonder new vehicles just aren't selling!
Dogmakarma Store They are flying off the lots when they get any in.
