It probably gets delayed because people (like myself) complain that you cant get out of the ship and have sword & gun combat, no island exploration and free roaming, no underwater diving, etc. thats probably why it keeps getting delayed. They should really consider adding those features in. Because why the hell would they make a pirate game thats worse than black flag? Come on man. People complain rightfully so to be honest
honestly. the minute i found I it has less functions than sea of thieves i chose to avoid this title, i wanted sea of thieves without the cartoony graphics but i guess ill stick with SOT for now t in that game i can explore islands and underwater biomes to my hearts content

Not only that but the typical ubisoft look with the dumb armor looking and colorful ships ruins the look and feeling of the game. They should stick with the begin look.

I just hope this game is good, I'm looking for a really good realistic looking online pirate game, They can take all the time they need aslong as the end product is good. Also as others have said, this channel is underrated. Keep up the great work! You earned a new sub! 😁

I’m glad it can’t be cancelled because this game looks awesome, I’m still looking forward to it and I bet it will be worth it after so much delays :), can’t wait to sail again Like black flag but in different ships and as my own pirate, it will be so cool :)

I play a lot of Sea of Thieves and would like to see Skull&Bones released, but with ability to roam my ship and board other ships freely. For now it's just dizziness inducing switching between positions. I need more pirate games in my life!

You forgot to mention that Ubisoft Singapore apparently had a sexual handling issue with the Art Director and the co-workers. Including the use of a foreign language in a office setting.
This caused a huge uproar in the entire Ubisoft Singapore, resulting in the dismissal of the Art Director of Skull and bones back to his own country (Still working for Ubisoft).
Small research hiccup . Black Flag is direct or indirectly descendant of PC game modder kept game made originally by a Russian company (and I played it) as version 9 Pirates of the Caribbean (U.S. version name) produced by Bethesda and yes Disney backed and continued its journey to a version 14 from what I had found some time ago . I still have the game and rate it in my top 5 picks of all time . In short and round about the production involving Ubisoft is now (not a lot different in idea ) Black Flag had groped the first newer version/idea of said game and was big with no excuse for lack of producing more (maybe modder rights to designs ?). Hope this is helpful to you . There is a video of original modder involvement and a historic trail all the way to the doors of Ubisoft . Very interesting and am greatful they grabbed it to keep its concept alive . I will try once again to grab up the top version . Can't wait .

Aside: Sea of Thieves, as of today, is almost good now! One main thing holding it back is the ill-considered and executed "full PVP" model along with the grind, lack of progression, and awful monetization. Sadly, the broken "full PVP" model seems to be the hill the devs decided to die on.
I personally love everything Sea of Thieves. I’ve had both toxic and lovely encounters with other players on the sea.

I've been playing since the beta (with a number of long breaks) and, as of today, it's the game I wish was released at launch... minus the lack of progression and "full PVP" model.
Granted, this entire time I've been playing mostly solo - and think I finally need to look into sources for joining up with good non-random crewmates. As an aside: 100% of my encounters have been with toxic players. The devs support this behavior via the design and what's been communicated via marketing and interviews.

No cap this game looks good. I just hopped on sea of thieves about 2 months ago. He's right. It's not to much to it once you get pirate legend. That's it. You literally can get pirate legend in under a month if you take the time to grind. This one actually give you a crew. In SOT there is no crew. It's just you and who ever wants to play with you. Kind of a bummer when you gotta face a galleon and you yourself are just managing a sloop
Me. The fool. Willing to buy a $60 cash grab version of the game in 2015 with assets nearly identical to Black Flag. I'm still interested in this, only to see how much they will ruin the ship combat (which I don't need upgraded from Black Flag), and have some story that forgets that Pirates can be fun AND ruthless at the same time.

People talk about graphics and realisticness in a pirate game. I don’t care if the game looks like N64, as long as it gives me freedom to have-
Adventure
Competitive
Island Exploration
Grind
Make a crew with AI or real players
Also Online of course
Naval combat
Taking over enemy ships on foot with flintlock and swords
I feel like if you focus less on graphics and more on the actual game, we could see the one of the best pirate games ever made.
In the mean time, there's a project called Sea Legends, which by the guys behind Naval action, a more realism focused 18th-19th century naval combat game. The devs' track record isn't the best but they seem to be turning things around and it has a lot of promise.
Idk how Ubisoft dropped the ball so hard on "black flag but only the pirate stuff" though. This didn't even need to be an mmo. Just make a single player open world pirate game and then add an arena pvp mode. Then if the development is stable upgrade to an mmo server. The Pirate Caribbean Hunt/plague of the dead, a game with a mobile port, did the former. How do you fuck up this bad?

I know the feeling. I felt this way with Dead Island 2. Though now it's gone gold so hopefully it works out.
People rip on SC for infinite delays all the time BUT IT IS STILL PLAYABLE. Only ppl playing skull and bones are the devs.

Wow SKULL AND BONES was supposed to release 5 years ago and now it's 2023 and the game still hasn't dropped 😒 ubisoft what the hell are you guys doing 🙄
That's not developers fault. It's a fault of Ubisoft CEOs who tried to follow modern gaming trends. Trends were changing fast and developers had to rebuild the game again and again and again.
I think it's usually a great sign when games miss E3 or similar events, because that means the developers are not spending hundreds or even thousands of hours on making yet another trailer work, sacrificing important gameplay mechanics and other things in the process. Just one trailer is enough to generate some tension and hype. This game is a mess regardless.
It'd be truly wonderful if this was actually released, and looking and running as good as it's been shown countless times. The story could be quite straight forward, overcoming the well known struggle of systematic prejudice, and being yourself on the seven seas. Heck, even overthrowing a corrupt government like in Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End. And feature natural hazards like the Kraken, perhaps have a way to lure enemies into it 😄😊
Just release the bloody gem already, and make sure it works FFS! I'm absolutely sick of seeing AAA games come out in an utterly appalling state, just grabbing peoples' money and not delivering. From the start, Skull & Bones has had SO much potential, still has... ☠👍
what about beyond good and evil 2 another game they announced in 2017 and delayed multiple times
why not just simply throw it out like Cyberpunk did and then they fix things with patches ?

It's mind blowing how they 'haven't been able to figure out how to make the game RIGHT to make it the ultimate pirate experience' when the fans have been pointing at Black Flag for like 10 years... it's all they had to do, build on BLACK FLAG while taking out the Assassin's Creed story and lore.
