Emilie, that's a nice house you've found for the family! And it's located within walking distance of the children's' school, isn't it! Maybe Josh can put together a few shelves for storage in the kids' room while waiting for the commissioned carpenter. I remember Josh having DIY building sklls in much earlier vlogs ! 🛠
Happy for you guys. If you are happy that’s all that matters. You can deal with the small issues incrementally. At least you have a home that you feel comfortable in
I like tgat the each if the kids' rooms have a toilet and bathroom in it❤. The house is very nice i must say, kinda jealous of George and Tallie's room😅
Congrats on your new home! Thanks for showing us around. I celebrate all the big and small blessings you have received with you. How’s Josh’s health doing?
Wow, I'm so happy for you to have such a great home that has space for the whole family. It looks peaceful and bright. Emilie your home is so organized! Sure, some things still need a home, but you'll get there. I love your backyard for the children to safely play. And most of all, you have beds! :) That's so important to instill a sense of belonging for the children and for you and Josh to feel at home. I'm really so happy for all of you.
@@TheLartersI am not sure what the cost of power is in Uganda but humidifiers are expensive to run and you would need them on 24/7 so look at running costs xx

Lovely house! It looks so much like the Indian houses I have seen. There the paint coming off because of moisture is also a common problem... The beds and shelf from the carpenter look really good and stable! And of course nice garden for the children and dogs to play in.
Let the kids wear sandles or flip flops around the house and the garden, so they dont' get dirt all over their beds. Also, whenever i have used a wet room, i find it more hygienic to have flip flops/sandles on because of the toilet and accidents.
They have a basket full of sliders by the door, as they are supposed to wear them outside - and we remind them alllll the time, but kids are kids! We also have wet towels at every entrance and everybody cleans their feet before entering ☺️
It's a lovely and large home. I hope you are able to get some of the issues fixed and some of the fundis to complete the furniture for you so you can fully enjoy. 🙏
@TheLarters yes, I understand. Can you let we subscribers know what it costs for a sofa and whether you buy it ready made (factory) or whether it's made to order by a fundi?
Tallie and James have a bedroom outside the main house. Do you lock the main house door at night? Is it safe for children to stay in an outside room? If something happened would you be able to hear them
Realistically, anyone coming in would be coming in for theft - and we'd know in an instant with the dogs. They'd most likely target the main house too. Although technically in an outside room, their room is nearer to ours currently than it was at the end of the long corridor in the last house - and the 3 bedroom windows are all down same side of the house so can hear whenever any noise is being made. On top of that, we've also got the lady staying in the room directly opposite them ☺️
Do you think there’s a chance Yourself,Josh and all of the Kids could be living in England by this time next year? I’m starting to feel optimistic for you all. Nice house overall but the issues must be soo fustrating. The landlord definetly needs to sort the issues out especially the drainage issue at the entrance and your toilet and bathroom issues.

It's the boys quarters, so it's original purpose is for house help to live in - does have windows yes! One side we've used as a store, the other she is staying in - but we've had to temporarily put the boarding children's items in there too for the holidays as we just don't have enough space!
Hey guys,,,,am just giving my opinion,,,,renting in Uganda is very expensive,,,what if you buy plot and build your own house that money you put in renting can buy a plot for sure
Those problems exist only in cheaper rentals just like in most parts of the world. Living a frugal life comes at a disadvantage even in UK or anywhere in the world
Disagree, there’s not exactly loads of better options - more money would mean a bigger place in this village but that’s about it. We’ve lived in many houses, all with issues - and all were considerably more expensive houses than the majority around!
Even as a Ugandan i realise how you are living a frugal life. I wonder why your husband doesn't hold a regular jobs to atlist help with daily bills!!!!!
