    I just bought one of these and I want to thank you for this video. I found a nice cherry picker to help put mine together.

      am going to buy one but can't decide which one. Did you guys consider the jansen ME-300 towable backhoe?

    I really enjoy your videos! In fact, although there was nothing comical about the video, your voice reminded me of the narrations on the Red Green Show (which is Hilarious). You might think of doing a sketch of similar comedy just for fun. Could be a real fun time for everyone. 👍

    Are you still using the HF Backhoe 6 years later? How it been working out? Couldn't you have just torn off the crate around it instead of lifting things out? Im I missing something?

      Still no problems. Beat it up pretty good with some big stumps and the pins are a little worn. Modified it to take the DR buckets and ripper tooth in another video so I have 8, 12, and 16 inch buckets along with a ripper. Also built a thumb for it. Can't believe I haven't broken anything yet and the secret is don't anchor it to anything because it has the power to tear itself apart. A good little digger. Thanks for watching.

      Thank you for the reply. I'm really close to buying one. Wish it had an auger attachment.

      You can get one of the small Chinese excavators with a hydraulic auger if that's what you need for a reasonable price. I have a 3pt one for my compact tractor and it's handy when I need it but sits unused most of the time.

    Mine came with a bag of seals. Are these necessary for install or just extras? They look like seals for the hydraulic cylinders.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  3 года назад +1

      They are extras to rebuild the cylinders when they start leaking. Thanks for watching

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 thanks for the quick response. I was pretty overwhelmed when I started putting mine together today but your video was very helpful. One step at a time lol. Have a good day.

    Any recommendations on how to assemble it without a lift like you have? Am just starting over in life and a trencher like this would be sweet on the homestead.

      3 strong friends would do it. You could also use a come along if you have rafters that will handle the load. It has been a great little digger. Thanks for watching.

      I have pulled car engines with a come-along and a strong tree branch. Pole barns are fairly inexpensive to build.

    Did you consider the Jansen towable backhoe and if so, why did you choose the harbor freight? I am going to buy one but can't decide which one.

      The only 2 that I knew about were the HF and DR. With the DR $6000 it was a easy decision to go with the $2500 HF unit. I have gotten my monies worth from it so far. Thanks for watching.

      7-20 days if the item is in stock at the new equipment warehouse. If the item is on backorder, or has been delayed due to ship off-loading issues caused by US dockworkers being union people, delivery could be 4-6 months or more. You cannot buy one of these machines at a store, and if you are a ITC (Inside Track Club) member, you must contact Customer Support and place the order through them so you can get the ITC discount. So, before ordering, have the support person check stock status: If in stock, OK. If no stock, actual delivery time would be anybody's guess. In addition, if you plan to make payment via debit card, make sure your financial organization will allow an amount greater than $2,500.00 USD. Also, pay the extra $40.00 USD and get the liftgate service.

      Mine took 10 days from the moment I ordered until it showed up at the shipping terminal in my town. It all depends on stock availability.

      Mine took a week to ship and 3 days to get to NY. I have seen comments where it has taken longer for others. I have really enjoyed mine so far and worked it pretty hard with no problems. Have fun with yours.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  7 лет назад

      What do you mean by strecher? Are you talking about the main weldment before any assembly?

  • @Enyaw58

    Why not just take the crate apart around it and assemble where it sits?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

    What was the weight? Did truck have a lift gate?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  4 года назад

      A lot. I did not pay for the lift gate and made a video unloading it. Check the website for exact weight because the crate is over 1200 pounds. Thanks for watching.

    • @philliplawerence5784
      @philliplawerence5784 3 года назад

      1,178 pounds including packing. Lift gate service is $40.00 more, paid through HF Customer service.

    Could you put it together without a forklift like you had?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, you would need enough help to move the parts around. Just cut the crate apart so you can slide the main frame off. A cherry picker would be a big help. I love mine so far.

  • @koch4022
    @koch4022 7 лет назад

    Mine was scratched and dented less than yours and the manager gave me the option to return it or he said he'd give me a $100 gift certificate, so don't think that you just have to accept dents and scratches, they'd much rather give you $100 than take it back!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  7 лет назад

      I just had that 1 dent and the rest was pretty good. Didn't take long for me to scratch it up pretty good. I was so glad to have it that I never thought about trying to get something for the damage.

    next time disassemble the crate to only the pallets.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  8 лет назад +2

      I would have had to cut it up to get it apart and I didn't want sawdust in everything. It was not just placed on a pallet, it was all plywood strips with metal straps. I just took the chainsaw to it after it was outside.
