Meet Ester, a Hazardous Area Response Paramedic and one of the faces of our new campaign to help people understand what actually happens when you call 999.
Ester works as a specially trained paramedics called the Hazard Area Response Team (HART). In her work for the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) she is trained to enter the dangerous 'inner cordon' of an emergency; out of bounds to many of her colleagues.

When there's not a incident requiring HART what do the medics do. Do they respond to routine calls?

hi the HART medics do not respond to routine calls the are on call night or day as they are specialist. the can be called o pon to help a crew out if it is needing the team the hart teams work long sid the air ambulances, double-crewed ambulance, as well as basics doctorand hart, can be put on stand by if they need if the control room thinks the casualty will have a good outcome from the hart team

@@matthewmaclellan1885 In the 3 years since I asked that, the questions been answered by either one of the WMAS paramedics I follow on twitter or it was on one of the ambulance documentaries on TV but part of the team can be sent to the highest category calls as well as the hazardous jobs and major emergencies that they are trained and equipped for.
