Wrocław is a beautiful city. Your travel vlog is interesting. I had wonderful trip last month in wroclaw as well. I also have created video about my experience in my channel.
One historical note. Wrocław was founded by the Czech prince Vratislav (cz. Vratislav I) (reigned 915-921). The name of the city may be derived from the abbreviated form of the founder's name. In 985, in Ostrów Tumski, the first stronghold was built by Mieszko I (a Polish Duke of the Piast dynasty). At that time, the city, along with the rest of Silesia, was taken over by the Piast family. In the 15th century, the Czechs took control of Wrocław. After them, the Habsburgs. It wasn't the kingdom of Hungary. It was the Kingdom of Austro-Hungary. Why are the dwarves a symbol of the Orange Alternative? As you said, it was an anti-communist movement. It was an anti-communist youth movement. The weapon in the fight against communism was humor. The anti-communist underground painted anti-regime slogans on the walls of their houses. They were covered with white paint by regime officials. Waldemar Andrzej Fydrych "Major" came up with the idea of painting dwarves on white spots. This was the beginning of the Orange Alternative. The dwarf became their symbol. You see the clip on YT.
My late husband was born in this city, not sure now if I could make a visit..
