Anything that gets people to open and read the bible is good. Many people use a bible highlighter to mark words or verses that have a special meaning to them. I like the idea of adding art but feel it should be confined to the margins.

Out of all the surfaces available to express your artistic inspiration, the Bible is the only one that shouldn’t be use for such purpose. It trivializes the word of God, is disrespectful. This Bible is not a toy, it is not entertainment, and certainly, it’s beauty doesn’t need enhancing.

You’re right… it’s not a toy, nor entertainment, and its beauty is expressed fully in His word.

Why do you paint OVER the words of your Bible if God's word is important to you??? You have crossed a line ... literally ... and it is now just an art book. I am puzzled why a Christian can bear to do this.
Decoration is ok but not covering the words.

Wow. I can't believe these women are so shaming and insensitive. I think you are very brave to share this beautiful expression for your King. It doesn't matter what other people think of your time with Jesus. I am grateful for your sharing this. Obviously, these are women who have been shamed themselves and think it is proper to do so to others. I've been looking for ways to express my watercolor with my Bible study and find your video very good for beginners. Thank you so much for sharing this and for the inspiration ❤❤❤ Love you sister! Hope you keep sharing. I am pretty sure many people will benefit from your instruction and sharing how you experience God's word.

@@malinamorin4296 Thank you! I appreciate that everyone has their own opinions on the matter. Just like there are many variations of Christian’s and churches and rules and parameters, we all reflect those variations. I respect that some are very displeased by the practice of Bible journaling. I’ve been well aware of these views for many years. I’m not offended by comments. We can each create within the bounds of our own conscience as noted in some of the other comments. I pray God speaks to each of us, and that’s the heart of the matter.

@@malinamorin4296 Actually it is unkind and insensitive of you yourself to call out people who express their puzzlement and dismay at obstructing the actual text of the Word, labeling them as "shaming and insensitive." Actually it is unChristian of you to say that anyone who is concerned about this issue "must have been shamed themselves and think it is proper to do so to others." That is very judgmental, which is in itself a sin.
I have to admit that when I see artists actually covering over the text of the Bible, I find it very concerning myself because those passages in the Word would not be able to communicate to anyone else using that Bible because parts were missing. But I probably would never have spoken up about it myself. I would have remained quiet, but I do understand why these others spoke out in defense of the Word. However, I find your self-righteous attitude far worse and felt compelled to speak out because you went too far in your criticism.
I think what this artist does when she uses her work to illustrate verses and passages which she has copied out on separate pieces of paper to be quite a lovely expression of her devotion to the Word, using her talent and creativity. Indeed, a wonderful journal accompanying the Bible itself could be put together by compiling those papers/pages or by using one of the watercolor journals which are on the market. Also, there are Bibles produced with very wide margins specifically for people who want to illustrate a passage in the margin.
