I think that was The Day Before, The Day After is pretty different looking game.

I'm confused too, they both look like the same game with the obvious but similar title. The Day Before comes out in 2022, The Day After doesn't even have a release date.

I really would love a game like Destiny 1/2, but more in the direction of a full-scale MMO. Multiple cities, more exploration, one big open world etc.
The thing Destiny gets right to me vs something like Planetside 2 is
1) The loot system
And 2) The PvE content
But a game like this does feel admittedly nieche, so I doubt I'll see one I really like in my lifetime

I disagree. I think that in the coming years we'll see a MMO focused around shooting largely as it's main combat mechanic.

@@KyXnline being peer to peer is so big in making that kind of games fun. once they make it massively multiplayer with budget server cuz it wouldn't be profitable otherwise, they gonna start cutting so many corners that it won't be nearly as fun anymore. the tech doesn't grow as fast as our expectation of a good action mmo

I'm excited for a game like Starbase, with an FPS MMORPG style like Planetside. Basically an open world game with building like in RUST, but friendly for casuals. Something I don't like about games like RUST is you have to be playing regularly, but I don't play mouse & keyboard games everyday, just 3 times a week usually. A game needs to be like a second life that you can just jump into & not worry that the map & everything you worked for has been wiped. Good socialization is a must too, like a place for people to hang out & mess around.
With the BR boom i say wait 2 to 3 years and mmo shooters will start poping in, think eft but fully open
I would really love a game like WoW but as a third-person-shooter, with bosses and everything. Kinda like Defiance (rip).

As much as I appreciate The Day After for existing, I've still not recovered from the horde of zombie games that came out in the aftermath of RUST, so if I want to play a game against stupid monsters, I'll play New World, or The Division.

Mmo can certainly be more than rpgs… it does needs to contain thousands of players onto a server where they share the same ecosystem.

@@mikeparkins6155 true but MAG came before Dust and some MAG players were involved in the development of Dust514. It had cool things to offer but it was not as polished as MAG sadly. Now I play Planetside 2 on PC its the closest I can get

They are most certainly MMO’s because they have massive numbers of players in the server all able to interact with each other nothing else about what you described makes them an MMO except massive numbers of players they might not be full or complete RPG‘s and that statement will be true because they’re not any kind of RPG there’s sandbox survival games Daisy is a sandbox survival game not an RPG I realize that there’s some crossover between those two genres in that sometimes sandbox survival games have more character development and progression that you might think but generally speaking they don’t you pick up a gun and shoots the same for you like any other person there’s no skill there’s no progression you just load up guns fruits medicine and use them to survive versus RPG where are you actually have character progression you develop skills and abilities but they can both be survival games with survival elements like you know what having to eat or drink or having to protect yourself from the cold

I mean I think the difference between an actual PVEVP game whether it’s an MMR or you know 20 players whatever is do you go into the game killing MPC‘s for their loot because their loot could be valuable because there are good drives in their loot or are you just killing them to survive because they’re trying to kill you Emma Daisy and correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think you’re getting any useful loot or at least that much nothing that you can’t just pick up by searching buildings anyway I’m home for the zombies or whatever where is take the dark zone, Which was a 24 person PVEVP zoneWhere van PCs you killed in there actually had a chance to drop good loot and I’ve got insane right now I mean they dropped Luke that you would pick up and use in fact some of the best route in the game initially came from the dark soul and could only be got there till they fucked up all the rules and change the dryer Bredeson made it so she could drop everywhere which I think is stupid in a game like that there should be certainLoot and Anna PVEVP game dance how do you find places to PVP you go to the places were people are likely to be farming certain kinds of loot and that’s the difference between a survival game where you don’t give a shit about zombies you just wanna avoid them because killing them just drives attention to yourself and your real objective is looting survival stuff versus you’re going out looking for somebody to kill them because they might have that awesome ar that you want

No I was shooting playing a mmorpg that’s isometric and it is fine when you’re casting spells or you’re using Malay but when you’re shooting shooters need to be aimed on the hell do use a sniper in the game. Is there even a sniper rifle? How do you hear shit when you were an isometric view
Turn off sightlines there is no aiming it’s isometric view. You’re pointing your character. It’s what you would call a dual stick shooter. Do you put your character in the direction of some enemies and you shoot there’s no precision there’s no aiming turn on sidelines you just run around and shit and shit.

Most of those games you listed have literally 0-10 players playing them. I could also list more "shooter" mmo like Darkfall, Trove but let's be real only Planetside 2 is a fully focused shooter MMO that has had any success aside from Trove though some people might fight its less a "shooter" than general ARPG that has a lot of shooting in it.
