    Pickle ball versus racquetteball versus tennis...pickle ball is easy..but in that aspect it's easier for both players...still the main thing in any racquette or paddle game is shot selection and pushing it hard

    as a newbe to both tennis and PBall...i find a forehand slice(soft or fast and low) the easiest shot to play in PB yet am wondering if the forehand topspin is really necessary to get good at..also..if i do practice the Pball topspin forehand will it hinder my tennis forehand

    • @Pickleball_Health
      @Pickleball_Health  2 года назад +1

      Hey Guy! I love the forehand slice in pickleball! I would definitely practice the topspin forehand for pickle also as it will help you get the ball down once it crosses the net to avoid being taken out of the air by your opponent. I haven’t seen any reduction in my tennis topspin forehand after learning pickleball forehand topspin so I recommend using it for both tennis and pickleball yes! 👍

    So one thing I never understood was in doubles, why is the serving team not allowed to have one person closer to the net? Is it because of the bounce rule? Or is it just stated in the rules that it's just how it has to be?

    • @Pickleball_Health
      @Pickleball_Health  10 месяцев назад

      Good question! Because we have to let the return bounce it isn’t an advantage to be any closer to the net in case they hit their return deep (which is always their goal). So if you stand closer to the net they will attempt to return it “through you” causing you to backup while you hit it after the bounce which makes it unnecessarily tough 👍

    Video needs to be updated for new paddles currently available. You can definitely slice and windshield wiper for topspin w/ the new paddles. I'm a tennis player (Juniors to D1) and I hit topspin lobs, drive the ball and volley like i do in tennis... the main difference is very reduced take back. That kitchen advice w/ paddle head down and push the ball... don't bother w/ that. Slice it like you would on tennis court. Ball stays low, clears just above net instead of way above. This video is NOT for tennis players that are still playing tennis and don't want to destroy their technique. Most PB players have weak backhands, even the bangers. Volley to their BH side, feet. You aim for the shoulder, you'll most likely push it out or because the feel on a paddle is different from your racket, you'll end up giving them a sitter. Serve - I see lots serving a topspin shot... even w/ pace, easy to return. Why? Comes in straight, bounces to about thigh to waist high. Easy to return. I've been very successful w/ slice w/ side spin, short to the BH side. Basic tennis, low ball yields higher ball. I was hoping for something useful in this vid..,unfortunately, far from it.

      Play at a high enough level and you see what happens when slice gets taken out of the air. It’s free topspin for your opponent. Slice that hits the ground is a different story but you’ll have 7 feet of kitchen to work with and high level players will lean in making that feel like 4. If slice gets taken out of the air your partner is going to get a topspin speed up into the paddle shoulder and it will be tough to recover from. Slice and topspin are both used heavily in the game at a high level yes. But on the way to that level they are often use incredibly incorrectly and attribute to many errors if don’t inconsistently. You’ll see ex professional tennis players and current high level tennis players use heavy slice and topspin AND put their paddle face directly down to simply defensively bounce the ball over into the kitchen at times too. It’s all applicable 👍
