Very good Jerry. I think we all our 5 favorites...and I think a few lures overlap in most of our collections: i.e. bucktail jigs and pencil poppers. "Don't leave home without 'em!" Right?! Tightest... Frank
I think I have at least 3 of these. I've been hitting the sweetwater and getting some lake trout lately though. I bet they'd hit a bucktail but I haven't tried, next year maybe.
Thanks Fenric I am sure they will work. Be looking forward to some freshwater soon have some water I been looking at for decades in mind always like to explore! Have to love fishing! thanks for sharing!
I had fish hit the bucktail. Sadly didn't land them as I worked the bucktail 6 to 8 seconds with subtle pops then as I let it fall the fish hit the bucktail. I didn't land it simply because people talked to me as bucktail was falling in water column that's why I missed the fish 😢🙄🙄🙄
Have you tried an egg and fly set up? This is a popular choice in Rhode Island. It's a wood egg with wire drilled through it. The wire is bent to form a circle on both sides. Spin line is tied into one end and 5 feet of leader is tied into the other side of the egg. A fly is tied to the leader.
I have been not long time, will have to make day of it sometime. Most the reason why I dont is the time to switch rig over. sometimes I am out for a few hours so time is pressed. I will keep in mind! Thanks Theodore!
Billy!!!! Nothing beats a 1 eyed billy bucktail! Had a blast with em this season THANK YOU! Those paddle tails are great all the own, been railing fish on em this week love the jigheads! Can't wait to fish em in spring! You changed my routine! Thanks Billy!

Those plastic paddle tails are great lures especially the ones that look like needlefish.i stopped using bucktails because of them.
I can see that! they are great had to squeeze it in may be next years #1! Been using em the past week they are great!
nice video. What length paddle tail do you generally throw or use as a trailer on your bucktails?
Thanks BlastinBass, I been using the 5" ones both plain and the trailer they work great
