      Sometimes there is no going back to what used to be normal. You just create a new normal, one day at a time. It's ok. Remember that death is not the end, it's just a transition. I know it hurts, but it is not permanent. I try to see that type of pain as a reminder of their life, for remembrace. Feeling it once in a while is just your way of visiting their grave, in your heart. It doesn't have to be every day, they wouldn't want you to be sad all the time, but there's nothing wrong with it. I am very sorry for your loss.

      My son has a terminal brain disease called Krabbe Disease. We were told that he wouldn't make it to his second birthday. Although he has lost his eye sight, ability to move his limbs, ability to control secretions and a bunch of other daily functions we take for granted, he is going to turn 6 years old in March. Last week, I had to revive him with CPR. What keeps me going and gives me inspiration in life is his resilience, bravery, and strength. My heart goes out to you and your family. God bless.

I have "played" around with the weekly dosage, and for me, I have found, that you WILL know if you are taking too much, It is super easy to adjust. Glad TO HEAR Andy talk about this. Andy, speaking towards sunlight/vitamin-D.
    I live in the Austin area and am a 7-8th generation (we lost count) Austin-outskirts area central Texan.
    I sunbathe on the roof pretty regularly in a spot where the neighbors can’t see my indecency. It’s a blessing.
    I’ll do this sunbathing even all throughout the winter whenever it’s warm enough to do-so (did it on New Year’s Eve day), all throughout the spring, and all throughout the fall. In the summer, just working outside will get you more sunlight than one needs.
    I also take our dogs on long walks in the sun all throughout winter.
    I contribute this sunlight exposure as being a major factor in what keeps me as healthy as I am.
    My mom sunbathed. Her sisters sunbathed. My cousins sunbathed. My sister sunbathed. Even our dogs, and the local lizards & snakes sunbathe. My grandpa was a white (German/Austrian ancestry) Texan Army artillery First Sergeant during the Korean War who genuinely looked like a dark Native American because of how tanned and leathered his skin was from his cowboy life outdoors in southeast central Texas.
    Meanwhile when I went up to Denver in November to help some of my dad’s side of the family, I was shocked to see how pale, ghostly, unhealthy, and just how low-energy people up there seemed to be. The less-direct sunlight, fewer sunlight hours, less oxygen at altitude, and the cold up there all when compared to the better conditions back home made life itself seem less healthy up there.
    The day after we had driven home, I walked our dogs in a tanktop and felt completely rejuvenated just from being back home in a healthier climate with sun exposure.
    Just some food for thought. Sunlight is ultra important.

    • @chanang453
      @chanang453 9 месяцев назад

      Sunlight is essential but just 20 to 30 minutes a day of the suns rays on your hands,arms and face/ neck will give you enough Vitamin D . Im an aussie and about 16,000 people get melanomas and about 1500 die each year from sun cancer here . Sunbathing is discouraged nowdays with government ads telling people to slip on sunblock /wear a hat and cover up in summer. Texas had 5,500 melonoma cases with 470 deaths in '23.
      So sunlight is great in moderation ....sunbathing ?? up to u

    Andy - Something to think about on TRT. My testosterone number was 205 last year (I am 43). In my research (and doctor's consult), I found that starting TRT will lead your body to stop making test naturally. Also......most, if not all, of the test used in TRT is manufactured overseas.....like many other medications the USA relies on daily. These are reasons I am opting out, just wanted to pass along the info I have found in my digging. I am currently maximizing natural ways to increase my test. Cheers.

      @andrabook8758 9 месяцев назад

      hi :) I like it when ppl do their own research! good for you! do you mind me asking if you know what caused the low T and could you share some of the natural ways of boosting your T which are working for you or which you're experimenting with right now? I think eventually the research will lead us to find way to turn the testosterone production back ON, but those studies are almost non-existent right now, sadly, so I really encourage ppl to share anecdotal evidence. What we really need is to start spreading awareness of HOW to boost the hormone levels naturally, so your body starts making them again. Kind of like boosting a car battery, lol. 😊

    • @ClearedHotPodcast
      @ClearedHotPodcast  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@andrabook8758 I don't have a good answer for the cause of the low T, other than a natural combination of age and exposure from my previous job to countless concunssions and explosive blasts. Unfortunately there is a well documented phenomenon called "operator syndrome" where your natural testosterone regulating system becomes detached or disregulated and there is little to nothing you can do jumpstart or kickstart it. In my case, the medical provider was asking me about consucssions and head injuries based off only my blood work and not knowing about my military history, it is extremely unlikely I can upregulate my bodies natural production of testosterone.

    • @andrabook8758
      @andrabook8758 9 месяцев назад

      I am familiar with the effect of chronic stress on testosterone levels (aka Operator Syndrome), but it's unlikely your doctor didn't know about your military background. I am always perplexed by your doctors though...they could just be unusually ignorant, I guess. You sound military and your famous too, tho...so, I don't know, seems unlikely. Even if no one told me you're military tho, I'd still guess it. Is it possible they just didn't want to put you on the spot?
      In any case, you retired almost 20 years ago, right? that was you, right? when was the last time you had a concussion or any other type of brain trauma? Bc if it was 20 years ago, that may not be the reason why it's still low today, unless there's something else going on. Low-T can be caused by multiple things.
      I'm not saying it's possible for you to boost it enough naturally so you don't need hormone replacement therapy anymore, but untangling what is causing it, can be helpful in treating the symptoms. You may end up needing to take hormones for life, but if you can NOT need them, or need less of the TRT, that usually makes everything better.
      Often times people jump to conclusions and the doctors are not always helpful in pointing out alternatives, if their clinic doesn't offer them. @@ClearedHotPodcast

    • @ClearedHotPodcast
      @ClearedHotPodcast  9 месяцев назад

      @@andrabook8758I retired ten years ago. Hard to say on the last time I was exposed to a concussion. I am not a candidate for brain imaging due to retained metal in my body so it’s only an estimate based on operational history.
      The doctor had no reason to know or suspect I was in the military, he was just reviewing my blood metrics with me. Hate to tell you but I’m not famous, there should be no expectation that he or anyone else would guess or suspect it.

    One small but important correction. Jordan Peterson says dangerous, not violence. He says: “a good man is not a harmless man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control.” To expound, dangerous doesn’t axiomatically mean being proficient and comfortable with violence, because, in the context in which he’s speaking, he readily acknowledges that not all men have the capacity to do so. He is referring to becoming intelligent, getting better at articulating your thoughts, ideas, and about yourself, always telling the truth, getting good at having difficult conversations, being a good husband/father, always standing up for what is right in the face of adversity, and becoming the most competent version of yourself in whatever profession and vocations you choose. He does say violence can and should be a part of that if the person possesses the disposition to be able to handle it, but that being dangerous is necessarily always predicated on being violent. Think of how dangerous some people are when they have the ability to synthesize ideas and articulate them in a way that resonates with thousands of people to motivate them, for better or worse, to do things without ever using force. Think of hackers and ethical hackers and the damage and/or good they could do. There are countless examples. Love the show. Just wanted to point that out.

    My vitamin D deficiency arises from PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) which is a disease of the bile ducts. I think it is still considered an autoimmune disease. I've stopped reading the medical literature. It's similar symptoms - waking up feeling like you've run a marathon, or that mental fatigue where it seems like you are looking at yourself in thick fog. I was on my bike before Christmas cycling on flat ground - no wind or anything - about 3 miles from home. All of a sudden I was so exhausted. I knew that if I stopped and got off the bike to rest, then it would be a couple of hours before I got back on, so I forced myself to keep going. It's incredible what a deficiency of that vitamin does to you.

    Everyone should get their full blood labs done at least once a year. Decrease in free test happens shockingly early and events, occupations, or accidents have very little to do with the metric. 93% of the population is deficient in vitamin D and you should be taking at least 5000IU daily.

    There are soooooo many flaws with TRT testing. Ensure you are going in fasted, with good sleep, not overworked, etc. if you’re coming in trashed, of course your test is low. Fix the other factors first before you become reliant on a vial (and if those don’t work then the vial IS the best option)

    Perhaps the reason they asked about your concussion history is biological. I’ve had 11 concussions & 1 TBI with a GCS score of 3.5. According to multiple neurologists, estrogen is an anti inflammatory to the brain. As men, we have an inactive enzyme in our body called the Aromatase enzyme which, when activated, converts testosterone into estrogen. Head injuries resulting in brain swelling activates this enzyme. This was detected in me by a series of blood & saliva tests 3x per day for a week. Andy, I have no idea if this is the cause of your testosterone levels but, if it is, there’s an Aromatase inhibitor called Anastrozole that has worked well for me.
