Wow that cello sounds excellent! I am about the same build, and hand size as you Jonathan, and I have been struggling somewhat on my 4/4 cellos. I am planning to try a 7/8 cello this weekend. It is a Michael Gerlach Gabrielli 7/8 and I hope it sounds as good as this one. Thanks for the video.
I've always fascinated classical music. How beautiful is and how it makes you feel so calm and happy inside. Bach and his music are extraordinary as we all know. It's like he chose only the right notes and in all his creations there isn't a single one that is wrong or misplaced. What seems to amaze me is how beautifully you played it and the sound of this cello. It is really a pleasure to listen to. What i find most peculiar is the collaboration between classical music and Bach in this case and.... Flip-flops 😂 😂 this collaboration brings so much joy to the world 😂 😂 😂
Really awesome! Thanks for all the advice, it's almost been a year since I started learning the Cello...and I love it!!! You really inspired me to play this amazing instrument, and I want to thank you!
many adults, who are small-framed, i know a woman who is 5'0, and full size its impossible for her to do many positions and extensions i would actually argue against a 7/8 for most people, and pick a full size thats a smaller model avoid strad models.
If only we were all immune to exasperating tendinitis; carpal tunnel syndrome and increasing arthritic pains from extensions in our left hands. Hence, given my life experience and the comforts of my students, I would argue for more adaptation of the neck length, like there is for violas. What you both fail to recognize is when Edgar mentioned the famed Sleeping Beauty begin shorter. Additionally, this particular Ruggieri copy is not a reduced size but true to scale, with a slightly short neck. You both ought tot take a trip to Cremona and see for yourself how varied the world of cello has been for centuries.

Glad to help you, Perry

Great to hear!
Wow, so impressive! 👏 I can’t believe this 7/8 sounds exactly like a full size. How??! 😮🤯
Right?!
because the sound actually is perceived louder with a smaller instrument. hence why violins, sound louder.
@@CelloCoach A 7/8 that sounds like a Full Size Cello is Fantastic.
Is a 7/8 cello set as string length of 67 cm? As oppose to 69cm for a 4/4
About 67cm
Beautiful! Now, I want one.
Go for it!
I love that chair! Amazon?
Nope
A 7/8 Size Cello, why do they exist?
For many reasons, to be explained later today
